Some contractors have an infuriating practice of playingstupid when you call and ask about pricing knowing full well what they charge for the service you requested. Perhaps they think that if you're standing in front of you and give an outrageous price you'll agree? Here's what happened... I just bought a house and want to install 4 ceiling fans on the second floor. Here's the relevant information: I am providing fans, each fan has had access so it's easy to get to, there's already power at each site, the contractor needs to hang a box and wire in the ceiling fan. I've done this project several times in my old home however I just don't have time to put in 4 ceiling fans. I called OTT electrical services because of their rating on Angie's list, I'm starting to think this list is going downhill. The girl I spoke to refused to give me even a ballpark of what it would cost to hang a ceiling fan. It's not like I'm asking her how much it costs to run a new electrical panel and circuits where there are a lot of variables. I made very clear to her over the phone that I'm not going to spend $200 to hang the fan she said "oh that will be a problem". Can you believe the guy quoted me $225 per fan? That's insane. Most of the fans cost that much. They wasted my time and that's why they're getting negative reviews. This isn't rocket science, anyone who allegedly does this for a living should be able to tell you approximately how much they're going to charge. The only reason I didn't go with my normal electrician is because he's booked until late August ( we are in the beginning of July). Do not call this company unless you have more money than brains, these services cost half as much as what they're charging and I know this because I already hired another electrician to do the work for $100 per fan. Granted, my electrician doesn't show up in a $90,000 Mercedes sprinter (like OTT did) however he does do a superior job and is worth the wait. If you look at my other reviews you can see the electrician I use, he's excellent. The kid the showed up (and I literally mean kid) was embarrassed about the pricing he was giving me.

The electritions surveyed the problems and took care of them on the spot. I would yse again.

Jason always arrived when he said he would and always completed the quote before he started the work. My wife kept adding things that she wanted fixed and Jason was able to get some additional help in a short period of time. The previous owners of our house had done much of the electrical work around the house prior to us buying it and they took a lot of shortcuts and must have been drinking when they decided where to put switches. We have never owned a generator before and Jason was able to explain what circuits the generator controlled and also explained the maintenance process for us. They have substantial work vans that are well stocked with parts and they always had what they needed to complete the work. It was apparent that the management of the company encourages the employees to upsell, if you are interested in these products they are highly negotiable. We will be using them again when we need electrical service.

They were very good. I was very happy with them.

Company called back and gave an arrival time, came early and introduced himself. Immediately assessed the problem and fixed it. Very clean and professional.

Adam came and gave quote right while he was here. Company came several days later and set up an installation date. Came right on time; told it would take 2 days, which it did, and did fantastic clean up.

I called to make an appointment to have a couple bad fluorescent fixtures repaired or replaced. The phone was answered immediately - no waiting for callback - and I was told a tech was nearby and could probably respond within the hour. Adam, the tech, was prompt, and was able to give an estimate and repair the fixtures within about an hour of my call! Also I asked for an estimate for a couple other jobs, so I have a head start on future work. I was able to use an Angie's coupon, so the price I paid was very reasonable and the service outstanding. Adam was very pleasant and professional and Ott Electrical is now my first choice for any electrical work.

A few weeks ago half my house lost power. I called Ott Electric; within 30 minutes they had someone on premises looking at the issue. It seems my outside cable had been deteriorating for some time; water had wicked down the cable, into & through the meter and down into my circuit breaker box. This was all discovered on a Wednesday. They had a crew show up on Saturday at 8:30, right when they said they would be there. By 12:30 everything was completed; a new outside cable, meter, circuit breaker box & all breakers. They even went through the house and labelled everything for me. They were very professional and had no problem answering the slew of questions I threw at them. I am incredibly happy with the work that was performed and would highly recommend them. I plan on having them back out to run power to my garage.

Jon Ott is a great contractor. Called after hours and he still answered his phone while he was out. He told me to call the receptionist in the morning and I did. She was already aware that I would call. Set up a time for that afternoon that had a time constraint involved. He arrived and took care of my fix before I had to leave and was super professional and fast. His receptionist was extremely helpful and courteous on the phone as well. Today I received a hand written thank you card from them. I am very impressed. I would absolutely recommend Ott to anyone needing a top shelf electrician and wants to deal with a company that still believes in the value of customer service. A thing becoming more rare these days. A+'s for everybody there at Ott. Thanks too, Angie's List. I won't ever be looking for another electrician again. Jon Ott is the go to guy.

I used their service on November 15th of last year. They installed thermostats for my heating cables, gutters and 3 breakers. They did some grounding work on the electrical stuff that I had done. They were just really great. They came in and diagnosed the problem and saved me a lot of money. I would definitely use them in the future.

We have used them twice. The first time we used them they put two canned lights in the kitchen and they were real prompt and done in no time. That was why we called them again when the circuit breaker went. They came out within 3 hours. They were professional and the price was reasonable. They were real good.

Had no electric city. called them at noon, they were out promptly. Assessed the situation, offered solution and got crew out to fix pin and we had electric city by 8pm that night! The process and professionalism of Adam and his crew was great. I called them to book another repairs.

Adam the electrician was punctual, personable and knowledgeable. He performed the job in short order and explained what he had done/ A wonderful experience.

Adam was on time come, gave me an accurate estimate before he started. He was very professional efficient and took the time to ensure everything was done properly.

The OTT Electrical team was fantastic! We had them give us an estimate of our work the week prior to scheduling. The service tech Bill was prompt, courteous, and professional. He explained everything that we needed to have done, and gave us a free proposal the same day. He called as a follow-up a few days later to see if we wanted to schedule and even offered a discount because they were going to be in our area that day. The day he arrived, he brought an apprentice worker with him who was also professional and courteous. After a few hours of work, Bill noticed a major problem. The team worked very hard to fix the issues the same day, even though they were not scheduled for the extra work. He explained everything that was going on, step by step, and was professional and friendly throughout. He answered all questions we had. Considering all the work they performed and the time they spent to do it, we received a very reasonable bill for the work. We would definitely call them again for any and all of our future electrical needs. Thanks Bill, you guys did a great job!!!

Very professional from initial phone call to completion of job.

My experience was excellent with Ott. They were friendly from scheduling the appt through the estimate and service call. Adam answered all my questions prior to taking care fixing a ground wire and installing exterior electrical. The cost was reasonable and quality of work very good.

Purchased a whole house surge protector as an Angie's List deal. Ott was easy to work with and the guy who installed the unit was friendly, prompt and did the work cleanly. He was able to answer all my questions.

The job turned out better than I expected.

Called OTT, they send a tech by the same day. He assessed the problem. Charged just for a the stop as could not identify a problem that required a more extensive effort. Very knowledgeable and personable tech.

The process from call through completion of service couldn't have gone better.

Ott Electrical was very professional. They brought enough people to get the large job done quickly and efficiently. Their work easily passed the counties electrical inspection.

I had emailed through Angiie's List and then followed up with a call that morning. They answered and had a technician in our area at the time. They offered to have them come over when they completed the other job. About an hour later they called to say the technician would arrive in 20 minutes and they did. There were two gentleman and they go right to work. It took a while to diagnose the issue, but once they did they were able to fix the light fixture. We paid them and they were on their way.

Not too much to tell other than Adam was excellent, quick, courteous and helpful. When he left, there was nothing to clean up. He provided a complete packet of Ott's services and then we received a thank you note within the week.

Outstanding service at an excellent price He fixed it by replacing two breakers quickly and at a good price. Also advised on any additional problems i may have in future (not an up-sell, i asked) as well as answered questions regarding some other things i wanted (additional outlets etc) Joe Ott was courteous and informative, strongly recommend this company
