Mike's Mowing And Yard Work

I responded to an ad left in my mailbox for this man's service. He claims "Mike's Mowing is comprised of American family men who are laid off and trying to make ends meet during this economic crisis. ..If you don't like the quoted price, give us a call. We will be happy to negotiate. We will beat any other quote by at least 10%". I called and talked to Mike, the owner, and explained to him that my current lawn service was not able to perform their duties due to an injury, and I could use their service. I told him of my predicament and how much my present service cost. He agreed that he would do the job for that amount (I did not ask for the 10% discount) and actually thanked me for allowing him to take on the job! He informed me that if he could not get to it that day, that w he would get to it the following day. I gave Mike my telephone number and particularly asked him to contact me if there were any problems with his performing the service whatsoever...and that if he couldn't do it for any reason, to please call and inform me of such. He never showed up at the house. He never mowed the lawn, and he never returned my phone calls. I gave him an additional 24 hours to arrive...still nothing. On 2 occasions, I called his cell phone only to have it answer, and hang up on me. Then I called his land line, which is given as the company telephone number, and left a message asking him to please call me, and that if I didn't hear from him in the next 24 hours, not to show up at all. Of course, he never responded to the message. He never delivered, as promised, on mowing my lawn, calling me in regards to any problems he may have had...nothing...I was just hung up on when I called and my message ignored! I would recommend that nobody waste a minute of their time with a bogus service like this.
