Before contract signed owner said he'd subcontract for tile, plumbing, electrical but had carpenter do it instead. Allowances were so low wholesalers said I couldn't even get the cheapest product for what was allowed. Double billed for a change in the proposal, even though the work was the same just a different location. Mistakes weren't fixed. No transparency in costs. Only 2 workers, so only 1 person on job (paid carpenter to sweep trash, go to Lowe's for items, pick up materials). Carpenter excellent at framing and was on time and answered questions. This is the only reason the review is a D rather than F. He's great at framing but not the other work. Owner and office staff rude and wouldn't communicate. Owner built 2 built ins - neither according to spec. Carpenter fixed one and installed the other even knowing it was wrong. When project done I had to pay $1000+ to have caulking and painting redone, plumbing problem the owner wouldn't fix, and the 2nd built in removed and a correct one built, installed and painted. Because allowances were so low it cost almost $6000 more for the project (not counting the $1000 in post project repairs/fixes) than what was in the proposal. Office staff twice threatened to stop the job if I didn't pay an installment, even though the company hadn't completed its part of the contract. When I questioned it I was told it was "close enough" and if I didn't pay they'd leave the job as is and come back "when it could be fit into the schedule." After job finished, they left with a plumbing problem. Carpenter came back and changed a valve, but the problem continued. Owner said if I wanted it fixed I could hire my own plumber. I did and paid for it (turned out it was totally preventable). Aside from the carpenter and designer, this is not a customer friendly company. The work was ok for the most part, but the mistakes in the shower tiles and niches are very apparent. When asked to fix it, nothing happened.

We anticipate a good experience based on talking with David Saunders, and the fact that another highly recommended company owner declined to bid on the job when he found out that David had done the original room we need work on and was also bidding. He said "he is very ethical and does very good work. I won't bid against him." Quite a recommendation! David has so much work that he initially declined because he couldn't get this done before cold weather. But we said we would wait, and he has put us on his schedule, hopeful to get to it before the end of the year.

VERY PROFESSIONAL. ANY PROBLEMS THAT AROSE(WHICH THERE WAS NOT TOO MANY) WERE ADDRESSED QUICKLY. OVERALL AN EXCELLENT JOB.
