+ -1 moreI contacted Canby Iron Works by email and received current pricing information. Mr. Canby measured the property and provided a written estimate for the fence. We emailed back and forth regarding style and height. I accepted his proposal and paid a deposit of 1/3 with the balance due on completion. Installation charges were based on an hourly rate and dependent on time required for installation. Six months elapsed between my initial estimate and completion of the project. The time period included winter months when installation could not be done. Mr. Canby currently makes ornamental iron fencing on a part time basis.
Description of Work: Constructed ornamental iron fencing to enclose my front yard. My project included a front entrance gate on four inch posts and a smaller gate to a side yard on the standard two inch square posts. The cost included approximately 50 feet of 48 inch tall, 5/8 inch round picket hoop-and-point iron fencing, 11 posts with filials, two gates, and installation of the fence. I collaborated with three neighbors in Harrison West on front yard ornamental iron fencing enabling us to divide the cost of adjacent property line fencing. The project cost stated here is for my fence and installation in my yard.
