due to multiple unexpected medical problems with family members, my big deal expired. kevin was gracious enough to still honor it. he was on time, courteous and professional. i would recommend to others.

They informed me over the phone that they would not be able do the work because of the age of the home.

Within 24 hours of my purchase, I received a call from Kevin regarding scheduling. I have been an Angie's list customer for a few years and have used Angie's deals on several occasions and this was one of our best experiences. This was my first instance where the service provider contacted me for scheduling so quickly. Kevin was very responsive and also provided a courtesy call a day prior to our service date to confirm the extra supplies needed. Kevin was able to perform the requested ceiling repairs in a timely manner and well within our time arrangement. Our repair consisted of 5 ceiling holes as a result of electrical wiring we needed for lighting. The holes were an eyesore. But Kevin and Painting Excellence came to the rescue for a very reasonable price. Kevin did a great job repairing the ceiling. I will definitely refer Painting Excellence and Kevin to others. Thank you Kevin and Painting Excellence for a job well done.

Kevin McHugh and another man arrived early on the 27th ready to work. They moved furniture away from the walls, took down pictures and laid down tarps prior to beginning work. They wetted a small section of the walls, prepped the paper with a round toothed tool and then pulled and scrapped the paper off of the wall. In many places the glue had been applied so copiously, the crew had to re-wet that section to scrape the glue away to get down to the wallboard/Sheetrock. Kevin had originally estimated that the job would be complete in an 8 hour day with the two f them working. But due to the length of time it took to thoroughly clear the walls, they were unable to finish in one day. The owner returned on a second day and completed the work in an additional 4 hours. There was no increase in cost due to the extra time it took but was considered covered in the cost of the bid. I also took advantage of a coupon offered by Angie's List for 4 hours at $125.00 for part of the cost of this job. I would recommend Painting Excellence for any job for requiring wallpaper removal no matter what shape your walls are in. The room which I had done is out of square and off plumb. The walls had wallboard sheets which were not taped at the seams, holes had been patched but not sanded and sections of panels were not supported by a stud every 16 inches causing flexing as they pressed on them to take the wallpaper off.

The experience was an easy one. I got everything that I wanted done with no stress. I would recommend this company.

The service went alright. I paid an additional fee to have them paint the room. Two technicians came out and completed the job in a couple days. I thought it took too long and the quality of work was not the best. They did a good job with the cleanup and I had no problem scheduling the deal.

Kevin was outstanding to work with. My wife and I decided to paint the kids rooms. Unfortunately, each window had a different size wood shutter. How was I going to paint these shutters and keep their louvers easy to open and close? We really HAD to paint them because the white we chose for the trim really "popped" compared to the old white. If these shutters were not painted, it would be obvious to anyone who came into the room. But, I knew I did not have the skill, or the tools, to paint the shutters AND keep them fully functional. Kevin agreed to tackle the job. I was impressed that he was willing to set up a special "painting tent" at his home so that he could spray the shutters down with our trim paint and be able to maintain the full range of motion in the louvers. Oh, and did I mention he did it over the weekend so the kids didn't have their shutters missing for too long? Honestly, what more could I ask? The job was done exactly the way I wanted it to be done, it was done quickly, but with outstanding results, and Kevin picked them up and dropped them off, so I had didn't have to drive to him. When I had a minor problem re-installing one of the shutters, I called Kevin, and he came over right away and resolved the problem. Service was outstanding and the work was as close to perfect as you can get. What I really appreciated about working with Kevin was he was upfront and honest about the project from the start. I knew this was a really tough job. Several very highly rated painting companies on Angies turned it down outright because of the difficulty involved and the need for specialized equipment. Kevin was clear with me that the job posed challenges but he was willing to give it his best try. It is refreshing when you run into someone who under sells and over delivers. An A plus job all the way around. Much thanks to Kevin and his staff for tackling a job others refused and doing an excellent job.

I was hoping to get the wallpaper removed in the four hours, but it took considerably longer and I'm not sure if that was due to their efficiency or lack there of. They were additional fees and they were at my home for about 2 days because I also had them do painting. The painting didn't turn out very well.

The painter gave us a quote very quickly. We authorized the work and went on vacation with a relative to monitor progress. Came back to find the room done exactly as we wished. The quality was amazing. I was very happy with the outcome and would use them again without question.

Kevin was always very responsive to any communications and takes a very active role in his company. We were impressed by their promptness, work ethic, positive attitude, and work quality. This was a very large, challenging job, and they completed the work on-time, on budget that was quoted, and had very fine attention to detail. Richard and Kevin were nice to work with, as I was working on other remodeling project needs around the house during almost the entire week that they were working there. They answered any questions, and were very cordial and professional. I asked for several additional items (like patching holes in window frames and walls in other rooms that I had not contracted them for) and they were always ready and willing to either assist with advice, or small tasks. The finished work looks exceptionally nice, and was the center piece of our updates to ready the house for sale in the coming weeks. I would highly recommend the services of Painting Excellence. The drywall work was excellent! He was very personable, on time, and worked hard. We gave him some extra money for the painting work, but it was well worth what he did for us.

We are very pleased with the work that Kevin and Richard from Painting Excellence did. Kevin was very knowledgeable and friendly. They did a very good job.

The repair itself went very well. They were on a bit of a time limit while doing the work. At the very end their clean up was a little bit suspect. There was some dust left over and a bit of spilled drywall mud on the carpet which did come up just fine. The work though was very good.

We worked with Kevin who was very good about answering the phone. He was honest and upfront about the work to be done and what he can do in the timeframe available. He ended up quoting a reasonable figure to complete our scope of work. We set up a tentative date (being that exterior work is weather dependent) and they ended up moving up the timetable of the pressure washing. They were flexible enough to work on a weekend and when Kevin came to collect some equipment, he was even able to touchup some areas that needed some additional TLC. Overall a great job and great value, would use again.

The service was done with professionalism, skill, and in a safe manner. I would recommend Painting Excellence to anyone on Angie's List that requires skilled painters. Kevin provided a detailed estimate, a quality paint product, as well as the equipment and the expertise. I had nothing to worry about and I would use them again.

He determined the job was bigger than 4 hours. He showed up and had his worker do the job. He seemed knowledgeable but overall he kept quoting different prices. I don't think he wAnted the job. He didn't try to get the job done in 4 hours. Not happy with the job.

I contacted Kevin after seeing him listed here on Angies List. He came out right away to give me an estimate on the painting work I wanted to have done. He was punctual and courteous. I would recommend him to any friends or neighbors and would hire him again for any painting work I need done.

They arrived on time. Had all the equipment they needed. Began work straight away. I had not understood that there would be waiting in between each coat of plaster so had not allowed for enough time to be at home, but after they explained it to me I made a call to my office and it all worked out. THey did an excellent job and you cannot tell where the patch is.

Didn't get to this. I wish there was not an expiration on things. Thought we would get to it and a year later could use it. Had circumstances beyond our control... At any rate, just thought I'd put it on here as imagine we can't be the only ones... I'm updating this to clarify something on 4/28/14 - This was my fault and not the provider. The provider was unable to complete the work and there was adequate amount of time to do so. I was gave the option to the provider to not do the work and he has offered to do the work. My point of making the review was Angies List was for a couple reasons and not to cause an issue for the provider. That was NOT my intent whatsoever. Here's a few thoughts as far as Angies List goes: 1. Angies List is asking for a review of work that I didn't get completed - through no fault of the provider again I state. In some ways it's good to know how this was handled - it shows character of the biz/ethics. 2. Angies List has the option of N/A on all their grading options with the exception of the overall grade. Note the Overall Grade I gave a C. How do I put a grade for something I didn't have done? I can put any grade but really this is not an accurate assessment. Once work is done I will update this again. In the meantime I will leave it a C I guess. Perhaps Angies List needs to fix this to an N/A also for an option for the overall grade.

Kevin showed up on time and did an excellent job. He explained what needed to be done by us after everything dried. He cleaned up and even gave me a few pointers on what products to use and how to get a better finish on my DIY painting projects.

I was not too impressed with their work. There were two people here doing the work and it took a long period of time to paint the one room. I could not figure out why it took so long. We ended up having to pay extra for the time. The final results turned out fine and we were happy with the result.
