Description of Work: The cost of the advertised service was $200.00 the painter charged me an extra $100.00 for what I do not remember. The wall space he painted was incredibly small, divided by cabinets, doorways, BIG doorways in the living room and was told that the original estimate did not include the ceiling which I choose not to have done. I think.... the extra charge of $100.00 was for what the painter claimed was an extra large kitchen area, it is not and it is 80% taken up by cabinetry and doorways and wooden room divider, which actually takes up a whole wall. |As this is the second time I've been way overcharged from the original offer price I have decided I won't be using Angie's list* again. | |Diane Asmus | |*this is the second time I have responded to this enquiry. |

Description of Work: I received a phone call to schedule the repair of my bathroom walls and I gave them an entire week to complete the project. I was told they weren't sure if they would be able to start my project early in the week or a little later, because of finishing a previous project. We decided I would receive a phone call either Thursday or Friday and let me know when to expect the repairman. I told them I would most likely not be available, but my adult daughter would be. I did not receive a phone call and assumed the previous project was taking longer than expected. The repair man called me at 8 am on Monday morning. I did not answer the phone, because I was in Las Vegas and it was 5 am! The repairman showed up any way with no notice. My daughter was about to leave for the day and had to change her plans. The work done was acceptable , except for the mess the repairman left behind. I realize the work involved spackling and sanding, but a professional will clean up their mess as much as possible. Will not contact company again.

Description of Work: Kevin fixed an area of drywall in a bathroom and another room that my husband and I tried to patch ourselves. |He thought he would have to completely replace all of it. He was able to replace the drywall in the bathroom and refinish the other wall.

Description of Work: Kevin removed two layers of wallpaper from our first floor half bath. |He was able to get both layers of paper off without damaging the drywall and scrubbed off all of the paste!! He patched some holes left by a towel bar we no longer wanted and a few other small areas, sanded and painted the room. |The work was completed carefully and in a timely manner. Kevin was very accommodating and worked around our schedule.

Description of Work: Removed wallpaper. Kevin was a nice guy but I felt he dragged out the job longer than necessary. There were lots of excuses why the job couldn't be finished after he came out 3 separate times. I finally told him to stop and am finishing the job myself.

Their attention to detail was outstanding. They were very professional, did an excellent job, and I highly recommend them and would use them again myself.
Description of Work: 1 large bedroom and 1 full bath were painted (walls and ceiling of both). Surfaces were carefully prepped/repaired before being painted.

His assistant patched dry wall (walls were damaged), sanded and gave two coats of paint to walls in laundry room. Again, very pleased. I would recommend Painting Excellence and definitely use this company again.

 + -1 moreThe painters arrived on time and got right to work. One of them needed to run for supplies and took a couple hours to come back, but they managed to finish both rooms in one day. The rooms look great, but there are some obvious brush strokes in a couple places. My biggest upset was that I bought a coupon from Angie's list for 8 man hours for $250, and the job ended up costing me an additional $450, which I would never have guessed when I purchased the original coupon.
Description of Work: I had the master bedroom and bathroom (with vaulted ceilings) primed and painted.

When three painters showed up to do the job, they were a half hour early, which was awesome! When they were packing up their truck, I called them back in to touch up a certain spot. He came in with no complaints. They then bagged up the trash before they left. I recommend him very, very highly. No complaints!

Description of Work: Painting Excellence (formerly Suburban Painting and Drywall) offered a coupon through Angie's List for one day of painting at half price. I jumped on the offer hoping the painter was good at what he does. He came to give me an estimate on my newly remodeled master bath and my 18 ft high entry, hallway, ceiling, and all doors and trim. BATHROOM: I wanted the walls, ceiling, closet, all trim and 6 doors painted ASAP. Kevin was wonderful. He fit us in immediately for the bathroom work. The job was extensive and it took 2 full days. The closet had many, many holes in the wall and they patched them all very well. He could not fit in my entry and hall work at this time but I was absolutely fine with that. I just wanted my master bathroom painted before the new floor is installed and he did the job! No subcontractors, Kevin and one other man did all the work. I would and am using PE/Kevin again. I'm very pleased with his work. He's prompt and a nice guy too.

 + 0 moreKevin made several suggestions about paint types. He always uses the highest quality paint which will last several seasons. My experience has been that you can always find a cheaper painter but you'll never find one that does work that looks better or lasts longer. Kevin spends more time prepping a job than most painters spend on the entire project. He eliminates chips and mildew, makes surface repairs and always includes 2 coats. Most company's workmanship leaves you needing to redo the job after a year or two. Suburban Painting projects look better and last much longer. Overall, it's a far better value in the long run.
