Nightmare from start to finish. Arrived to give estimate and said could come back in one hour to do job that day. Showed up 4 hours later. Repair started as flashing around chimney, then said stack pipe should be replaced and then chimney needed repair. Every time he went on the roof something else needed to be fixed. Left again to get material to repair chimney and said that he would be right back. Again, late in returning, showed up over an hour later. Encouraged me to contact insurance company and tell them I had hail damage and insist I wanted a new roof which he could come back and do. Long story short, after calling the owner back twice the area that was leaking is worse than when he started the repair. I came to find out this owner/company had more than 5 unresolved complaints against them with the BBB and did not respond when contacted by the BBB and would offer no resolution to my situation nor any of the other complaints filed against him. The BBB suggested I contact the Ohio Attorney General which I did. I was the third person to file a complaint with the Ohio Attorney General against this owner/company. He then "closed" the company known as Thomas Roofing and is now operating under the guise of M. Thomas Roof Repair. He has removed all company logos from his vehicle and ceased advertising in the ValuPak but now advertises in the Gold Clipper. It was very difficult to get the owner, Matt Thomas, to come back once the original job was done. He stated it would have to be done at his convenience. In one breath he stated I had a warranty, what was the problem and in the next sentence said he was going to go out of business due to irrational customers but that he would be around because he had alot of other companies. Also, after having several estimates to have the work redone, I was told the workmanship was very shoddy at best. There was not new flashing installed all the way around the chimney, only on the sides. The rest of the flashing was spray painted black to look like the new flashing. Also, the chimney repair was nothing but a glob of concrete plopped on the top of the chimney. An awful job, a worse experience and a costly repair. This job cost me 810.00 for approximately 1 1/2 hrs. work and is far worse than when I called them. In addition, I now have to pay to have the repair redone. I I intend to pursue this myself until I feel I have received some resolution to this situation and would advise anyone considering to hire this person/company to do any sort of work to reconsider and NOT hire them. As an addendum to this report, I contacted the City of Parma and this owner/entity is not bonded to work in the city. Also, the city has received other complaints about this company and this company is not pulling permits for work they are performing in the City of Parma.
