Hudson Overhead Door

This morning started with a wood spacer / fastener coming loose from the garage overhang and getting wedged on one of the garage door panels. Already late for work I took a gamble and phoned Hudson Overhead Door. My call at 7:55 am was answered immediately and a service call scheduled for the same morning with the offer of a free estimate. Usually, I follow the standard practice of gathering three quotes from a service provider. However, the quote was reasonable and the prompt response time greatly appreciated. The repair to the main problem with the door was remedied while I was at work, crossing my fingers that all would go well. Upon arriving home, the garage door operated perfectly, both opening and closing. While at work I realized I missed the opportunity to mention a missing bolt on one of the side fasteners. Exemplary work by the service technician; the missing bolt had been replaced and other hardware serviced and improved. Thank you for taking care of the job on a very cold morning ~ Great work! I called early in the morning as I was not able to enter my garage due to the broken torsion spring. They came to my place just after lunch and replaced the two torsion springs in about 40 minutes. The price was reasonable (less than anywhere else I called) and young man who fixed the door was professional and extremely polite.

We had an appointment for Noon on 7/18. The repair man never showed up for the appointment, I called the office on 7/19 to let them know the man did not return. The customer service person that answered the phone was not apologetic or polite. I told them this phone all was to let them know that the guy did not show up in case they were going to pay him for a job not performed. The woman on the phone said, "OK" and hung up. No apology, no thank you for letting them know, nothing! I will NOT call them again nor recommend this company to anyone.

So from the time that I called to the point that I was able to leave to work, it took no more than 30 minutes. The price was reasonable and the two brothers who worked together to fix the door were professional and extremely polite.

I will use this company again and recommend them to others.

I called several companies to come out and replace a broken spring. Since our cars were stuck in the garage, we couldn't go to work so I needed help quickly. Other companies couldn't come until the afternoon at the earliest. I called Hudson around 8am and they had Paul at my house close to 8:30am! Paul worked quickly and was very professional. He replaced both springs per my request as well as all of the rollers since some had become worn and wouldn't roll properly. He aligned the door, lubed everything and inspected everything. He provided some advice on things to watch and future repairs, telling me what I could do to prevent some parts from breaking and wearing out over time. I was very pleased with how fast they were able to get someone to my house, the quality of the work, and Paul's knowledge and willingness to discuss the work and ongoing maintenance with me. The price was very reasonable.

Garage door spring broke this morning around 9:00. Called Hudson Overhead Door and spoke with Debbie. Very courteous and said someone would be here late morning to repair the spring. They arrived around 11:30. The two young men were professional, courteous and informative about the problem and the repair. Was quickly repaired. While they were here, they also lubricated all of the hinges, tracks and moving parts as well as making sure that the door was adjusted properly for the automatic garage door opener. This is the second time I have worked with them and definitely recommend and will use again if needed.

They were pretty prompt and were able to get out and do an inspection the same day. They were able to actually replace the custom size door within 3 days. However, they were timely on the first call, but they couple of hours late for the time window that they initially gave us, but it was not a major issue for us.

Hudson Overhead Door was great. They called the day before to confirm the appointment time. They arrived on time the day of service. The guys worked effeciently and professionally. The Guys are the sons of the owner and are working on taking the reigns of the company and work with the same values and committment that their father has used to make their business successful. I thought they'd be there all day with the old heavy clunky wooden doors and track that they had to remove first. They made a quick and effortless looking job of removing the old materials and installing the new !! The guys worked well as a team and were always curtious and answered all our questions. We even received a follow up call a few days later asking if everything was working properly and if there were any other questions. We have recommended them to several friends as they were recommended to us by a family member.

My husband called them to schedule an appointment for service. They scheduled the appointment for 8:00am two days later. They did not show up at 8:00, so my husband called them at 8:30 to see what was going on. He was told we were not on the schedule because the scheduler "forgot" to record the appointment and that a technician would be there in 20 minutes. My husband had to leave for work, so I ended up rearranging my day to continue to wait for them to show up. The tech finally showed up at 9:20, spent less then 10 minutes to complete the job, and was on his way. We were very disappointed that they "forgot" to record our appointment and subsequently were an hour and twenty minutes late. We will not be using them again.

Fabulous! Came home and the garage door wouldn't open - one car stuck in the garage and one outside in the driveway. Needed both cars for work in the following am, but unable to budge door. In desperation, went online and found Hudson Overhead Door. Called immediately (time was 5:55 pm) and someone answered right away and discussed the situation with me personally. Despite the late hour, they came out within 30 minutes and fixed the problem (broken spring). Price was reasonable, service was prompt, and staff was very professional. Would use their services again in a heartbeat!

We had a very positive experience with Hudson Overhead Door. They are very responsive. They came out promptly to give us a quote. We wanted to look at some doors they had installed at other houses and they gave me several addresses to check out. The workmen are very courteous. They worked intensely from the time they arrived until the job was done. Afterward, they cleaned up all of the debris and carted it away. I definitely would recommend this company and would use them again.

Very smoothly. They were very patient in our deciding where the hinges and handles were to go. Excellent cleanup. Entire project took only one half day.

As a follow up to the last post I submitted. After two years have passed, the door has gotten progressively worse. It scraped every time I opened it and made terrible noises. I finally got sick of it and called the garage door manufacturer. They had another gentleman come out who was very nice. He fixed the scraping for $30 by realigning the track. He pointed out several other major flaws with the door that I didn't even know. The track that Lou used was the incorrect size and the place where they mounted the spring to the wall was incorrect. There was also a bracket that was way off center on the door and the bottom brackets were installed incorrectly. He told me to fix all of the problems would cost me around $200 to replace the track and remount the spring. This is $200 that Lou should cover in my opinion. I can understand some accidental mistakes, but this was just shoddy workmanship. There are no excuses for this when he claims to have been in business for thirty years doing garage doors. I hope anyone considering using him to install a garage door calls someone else.

I made two appointments to get Lou out here for an estimate. He didn't show up and said he was at the hospital. I hired him to do the job and they replaced the door in about an hour or so. He kept bragging to me that he could do it in under an hour. It showed. The workmanship was terrible. There was a hole left where they tried putting a screw into the door and missed and so he moved it over and left the hole there. Also the door scrapes the track every time I open it. I tried to get him back out to fix it and I called at least three times. I finally got him to schedule a time to fix it and he did not show. I was several hours late to work because I was waiting for him. I checked the Better Business Bureau website and saw that he a complaint against him. I called the door manufacturer and complained and Lou was out the next day to fix the door. He ended up not fixing anything that was bad. The door still scrapes and his truck leaked oil on my concrete driveway and stained it.

LOU AND HIS SONS WERE ON TIME, COURTEOUS AND PROFESSIONAL. THEIR QUALITY OF WORK AND PRICE WERE GREAT. I'D DEFINITELY RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE THINKING OF A NEW GARAGE DOOR.

THE ONLY COMPANY I CALLED WHICH CAME THE SAME MORNING IN SPITE OF VERY POOR WEATHER. REPAIRMAN EVEN HELPED CHIP SOME ICE OFF DRIVEWAY AFTER REPAIR WAS COMPLETED. VERY PLEASED WITH SERVICE. OTHER COMPANIES COULD NOT PROMISE SAME DAY SERVICE.

I MADE THE APPOINTMENT. HE WOULD NOT SHOW UP. I WOULD CALL THE OFFICE AND THEY WOULD SAY THAT HE WAS ON HIS WAY. THIS WAS INCONVENIENT FOR ME AS I WOULD HAVE TO BE READY FOR HIM BEFORE WORK. AFTER ABOUT 4 TIMES HE FINALLY SHOWED UP AND FIXED THE DOOR. HIS WORK WAS FINE BUT IT WAS THE HASSLE OF GETTING HIM HERE THAT WAS AGGRAVATING.

COMPANY WAS CONTRACTED TO INSTALL DOORS & OPENER. INSTALLED DOORS, AND MADE A REPAIR AT NO CHARGE WHEN DAME WAS CAUSED BY ANOTHER CONTRACTOR. WOULD NOT COME OUT TO INSTALL OPENER, INSISTING THAT GARAGE WAS NOT FINISHED, THOUGH MEMBER FEELS WORK WAS DONE. MEMBER WILL USE ANOTHER SERVICE PROVIDER TO INSTALL OPENER.
