+ -1 moreBlanchard removed 5 extremely large Walnut trees and Pine Trees from our property. They were prompt and removed the very large trees without incident, even moving portions of a pine tree from the back of our house to the side of our house with a crane. they also put down boards on the lawn to get to the Walnut trees at the back of the property (so we didn't have ruts in our yard). I can't compare their prices to other companies as we were satisfied with their estimate and didn't get any other quotes. But the quality was top notch and I'd definitely hire them again to remove any additional trees in the future.

+ -1 moreWe hired Blanchard to trim our trees in winter 2011-12. Their quote was right in the middle. They completed the job as contracted but it took them three days to trim 6 large trees. In July 2012, a quick storm blew a branch onto our roof. As soon as the storm was over, I called them. They arrived in 30 minutes!!! They removed the branch, but wanted to tie another broken branch to the leftover trunk and come back later to finish the job since there was a lot of people calling them that day. I complained loudly since it didn't look secure to me. The work foreman called in and his manager approved the removal of the second broken branch. When I spoke with my insurance company, they told me that they consider Blanchard to be one of the higher priced companies in the area and they rarely use them.
Description of Work: Remove tree branch from roof after a storm. Also trimmed all our trees the previous winter.

Description of Work: Blanchard has been treating my Autumn Purple Ash Tree since the Emerald Ash Bore starting attacking the trees in the Toledo Area. The tree is alive and well. They treat it 4 times every summer beginning in May. They are very respectful of my property and the birds that I feed. They move the bird feeders and bird bath so they will not become contaminated with the pesticides they use. Generally, I am not at home when this service is performed. They leave a note in the front door describing their procedure. They also provide a discount if you prepay for the 4 treatments. I have been highly satisfied with their service. I suppose it is a little expensive just to save the tree, but it is the only shade I have on my patio and the tree is so beautiful. To plant a new one would take years to grow big enough to provide the shade I so love.

They cleaned up beautifully and chopped up all of the wood. They were honest, and the prices were reasonable. They weren't the cheapest, but they were reasonable for what they did.

Description of Work: Talked me into having the tree's sprayed for bugs, turns out it was not really needed. They did remove one tree with dutch elm and did an excellent job of removing it. Their prices are little high to other companies, but at least they did have a certified arborist on the staff.

+ 3 moreThey are top notch. They are a big firm. I have always been happy with them. It’s much more expensive to remove the trees. They have always provided good service and they have done well. They are very good and I recommend them. They do the work and I just write them a check. You wouldn’t use anyone for 20 years unless they are a good company. I would continue to use their services in the future too.
Description of Work: I have been using the services of Blanchard Tree & lawn for the last 20 years for landscaping and lawn and yard work. My last interaction with them was in the last week for lawn service. They treat my lawn with fertilizers and take care of the weeds. They aerate the ground as well. They have also taken down a couple of trees in the past.

+ -1 moreIn the past Blanchard had regularly trimmed 5 trees. They did good work but were on the high side as far as costs. They usually cleaned up about 80% of the cut branches etc. After the long delays, the large increase in the estimated cost for the trimming, and the rudeness of the rep who I spoke with about the other work, I did not use the company this year and won't use them in the future. One of my neighbors came over and trimmed the smaller trees. He's a good guy, charged nothing and did the trimming was as good as when the so-called professionals did it. I've contracted another company to do the larger trees.
Description of Work: For a number of years, Blanchard trimmed several trees in my yard. Overall, the work was good. The trees were trimmed well and they cleaned up 80% of the mess. I called to get an estimate for this year's trimming and to ask about some additional, new work. About two weeks later an estimate was left on the door for the trimming; the estimate did not include all the trees to be trimmed and the price was almost double of the previous year. During the same time period, I had been playing telephone tag with another representative about the other work. When I finally reached him, he said he called many times but couldn't reach me (there was one message from him on my machine during the two week time period). He was very rude, telling me in a very loud voice that he was busy and if I wanted an estimate would have to stay home the following week as he would stop by with the estimate at his convenience. I didn't have them do the trimming and told them to forget about the estimate.
