This year was time for our 100 year old garage to be replaced. I called 7 companies. Only 4 bothered to show for an estimate and one of them never sent a quote.
I opted for the Great Garage Company. I am so glad I did! They were 100% professional and kept us informed during the entire process. 2 guys with minimal equipment dismantled and hauled away our old 2 car garage in under four hours with no mess at all! Then came the concrete. There was an issue with the grade so we had to work out the best way to pour the concrete pad. Again, John worked with us based on the grade change. While we were on vacation, they came and built the new garage.
I cannot say enough good things about John, Amy and the staff at Great Garage Company! They did a great job, and we love our new garage!

Description of Work: The contractor, Tom D'Amico, is a genius, identifying potential problems and formulating solutions in the planning stage. Of all the contractors we interviewed, he was the only one who knew that in the City of Cleveland, you can build a garage 18' off the property line instead of 3'. He was the only one who knew that fire-rated drywall had to be used on sides that butt up to the property line(s). If it wasn't for Tom, I wouldn't be able to get my car into one half of the garage without driving through the koi pond. His tradesmen, however, were not quite of the same caliber. They were sometimes careless, sometimes lazy, sometimes thoughtless. For example, the electrician drilled a hole in the house, ran a line, and then left for the weekend without closing up the gap. I had to stuff a big plastic bag in the hole to keep the outside from getting in. The concrete guys "forgot" to finish a corner of the garage floor / foundation. The electrician didn't install the exterior outlet. The list of WTFs goes on. However, Tom was always very responsive and got each issue taken care of very promptly. And ultimately, that's what counts.

Description of Work: The Great Garage Company is an excellent company. John D'Amico is without a doubt a true professional. He met with me and laid out every step of the planning, demo and construction process. I was confident I'd chosen the right contractor. At this time due to unfortunate circumstances I could not move forward with construction. The Great Garage Company will build my garage, I will not consider another contractor.
