They are very professional about the job. They always show up on time to do the work for me. They are very friendly when they are there doing the work.

After another service we had been using went down hill, we hired Scott's Lawn Service and they ended the year with the lawn looking worse than before. I discussed my issues with them, then they sent people out to check out the lawn. They determined that someone had not applied the insect control properly and that's what caused the holes in the yard. They told me that it was too late to seed because it was fall, so they heavily seeded and slice seeded in the Spring at no charge to me because of last year's problem. The yard is looking better already. They have really made an effort.

The prices were outrageous even though it was just the first company I had come out, the prices listed above were PER TRIP!! The recommended package was 11 trips @ $70 ea., however, it did include aeration and seeding which most others charge extra for. They also offer a $60/trip deal for tree and shrub services. I got a phone call later in the day asking me to sign up and I explained that I wanted other estimates and would let them know my decision, I got a sales pitch on how great their Scott's products are etc etc. The next day I was contacted again and told they would knock $10 off each package price (still way too expensive in my opinion) I kindly told them no and I was still waiting on estimates. They then called again 2 days later (after getting 24 inches of snow) and asked if anyone else had come out yet, needless to say I was annoyed so I replied "NOT WITH 2 FEET OF SNOW ON THE GROUND." I explained I was NOT interested in their services and asked them not to call back. ($70)

This company has been making persistent phone calls in an attempt to solicit business in spite of being asked on three occasions to remove us fro their phone list.

I paid for the grub control and it was supposedly applied in June. In August, with half the yard gone, I pulled up the sod and found grubs everywhere. I called, Scott's came out and said it was not grubs, but came back and aerated and re-seeded the lawn. The have an Angie's list rating of C for a reason.

I called Scott's and they came out to give me a free estimate. This ended up being a bit more than I wanted to pay, so we chose a different company. They do provide a nice report of problem areas in the lawn.

Our lawn and scrubs have been healthy and always look as good or better than most of our neighbors. However, we are not happy with the ongoing sales calls asking us to consider this treatment or that treatment. It borders on harassment. If they want you to consider a potassium treatment they will call mid-day and expect someone to be home and give permission for the treatment. If you do not respond you will get continued calls 3, 4 and sometimes 5 times a day. I work from home and only answer a very few home line calls during my work hours. I began to get angry and eventually started not answering my phone at all if Truegreen was on the caller ID. But they are very persistent; they then started calling using privacy blocked numbers or cell phones to call, never once were we called after 6:30 PM M-F as we requested. I know it sounds childish but we are on the verge of getting a new lawn care service to stop the non-stop sales calls.

We've had good luck with this company. They always clean up after themselves. We have a dog and they always make sure to keep the gate closed. They are always on time. We have not had any problems with them. We have used them for at least 5 years. I'm not sure of the exact price.

Lawn did not respond well. I had them years ago and they were fine, but they have hired unprofessional people who are not informed and do not communicate well.

Ridiculous. Requested a quote through Scott's website, explaining the trouble we've had with weeds and what we'd done to treat them. I assumed I'd get an email or call with options/pricing for different treatments. I did get a call the next bus. day (Monday, right at dinner time) but they said there are no "options" (they only offered standard Fall treatment) and they do not do one-time business; I had to sign up for regular service. Fine, whatever. They said someone would be out on Weds. I asked what time; they said I didn't need to be home. I explained that I'd be at home and didn't want to be 'surprised'. They said they'd be there between 9 and 12. By 2:00 on Weds, no one showed up. I called Scott's; they apologized and called the service tech, but he was 'unavailable'. They assured that if he wasn't there by day's end, he'd definitely be there Thursday. Was a no-show on Thurs, too. I ended up canceling service. They showed no interest in keeping my business, but were very polite.

First treatment was satisfactory. We told them they were to contact us for permission for service before each treatment because we were selling the house and not living there for watering the lawn after application. In June, they applied application without notifying us. We found a treatment sign in the yard. We called right away, thought the charge was taken care of, but to this date in October, it still has not been resolved. They turned it over to a collection agency. When I contacted them, they said they would get back with me. They didn't. I had to contact them again. I am told by Nona in the office that they will resubmit it and I should hear from them in about four weeks. Supposedly, the service tech said he left a phone message, which he did not do.

A disaster. I told them to call me before they came. Of course, they didn't. Ending up seeding when my driveway had just been sealed. Had seeds embedded into my driveway and could not water the rest of the lawn due to the work done on the driveway. Spoke to the manager. Said he would have them re-do it. We agreed that they would call to insure that nothing happened the second time. They didn't call. Came when my landscaping company was re-doing my front yard. Re-seeded anyway. Again, a wasted effort because a chunk of the lawn went away, Clueless! The most frustrating part is that they yes you to death and then do whatever they darn well please anyway.

We started using them this summer. He keeps telling us to mow our lawn at 3 inches, and we are. They only seem to be spraying on the main part of the lawn, and are missing the corners.

We hired them this spring and they are doing just fine. I was attempting to rebuild my turf after a prior company's work. Cost is seasonal. You have to make a point to talk to them because they have so much going on, but they return your calls and the guy calls me before the applications for the trees and shrubbery. I understand that it's a busy season but they are very prompt on returning calls.

The bushes "across" from the garage developed scale, through the Sum & Fall. The incorrect bushes received the treatments. It was a bad idea to respond to to this type of solicitation and not check on the company before contracting with them. After the 3rd and final treatment to the wrong bushes, I completed payment, called the company and told them that the bushes had scale, they had sprayed incorrectly all 3 times, expressed my dissatisfaction and told them NOT to return to my property under any circumstances. Incidentally, no one at this company identifies themselves or makes an attempt at follow-up. I spoke with both a lady and two men during the "complaint" period, got no response whatsoever to the problem, but did get a verbal acknowledgment that their work was finished and unsatisfactory. Can you imagine my surprise when invoices started arriving this Spring for "services?" They were NOT rehired this year and they are trespassing, if in fact, they were here.

$400 dollars for the beds, and 225 for the lawn for year. This includes 6 times.

This spring we were given a quote to slice seed our front lawn and the work was completed, two weeks later. We couldn't believe that four days later, another technician sprayed weed killer on our lawn, killing all the new seed. He even mentioned in his report, that he felt that we should think about seeding our lawn. He had no idea, that the lawn had been seeded, 4 days earlier. A few days later, yet another technician left a note, trying to sell us pest control for our landscaping beds. When we spoke to him, he admitted that the seed was dead and agreed that it was their mistake and they would be out to reseed. So the technician showed up to seed again, but little did he know a different technician had been here the day, before with weed killer!!! There were way too many technicians on our case and no one knew what the other has done. We did cancel all service with this company.

I prepaid for Scott's deluxe service including tree and shrub. I cancelled two weeks later, after my first application, because a competitor offered the same service for $300 less. I called two weeks later, because I had received no credit and was told it takes 30 days. (It only took two days to CHARGE my card.) I was told someone would call me, but nobody did. I called two weeks later, because still no credit and was told they'd get a message to billing. I asked for billing's number and spoke to someone there, who said there was yet another office, she'd have to talk to and someone would call me. Nobody did. I disputed the charge through American Express and am still waiting for a credit. Meanwhile, I've received three phone calls and a letter asking, why I cancelled and to please come back. I would not do business with this company again.

In Fall of 2006 I had Scott's fertilize twice and aerate my lawn. Though I had to call repeatedly to have the charges changed to the price I had negotiated with the rep (senior discount, etc.), I was pleased with the work. In 2007 they contacted me about continuing, but I said I was not sure if I would have them fertilize since it was much cheaper to do it myself. The day after I put fertilizer down, Scott's fertilized when I was gone, leaving a bill for $45.00. I called immediately and said I did not authorize this. They said it was their policy to continue service unless I informed them otherwise. Trying to get this charge taken off has been a huge hassle. After 5 requests for a call, the rep says he will have the charge removed. This is the big Scott's Company out of Plain City, and my experience has been that, though their service is good, they are hard to contact and have contradictory pricing.

Very confusing and totally unorganized!The first guy came out, he was great, gave us a quote & I said I would talk to my husband and call back with our answer. Seven calls later we finally got someone to come out to treat our lawn. I can't believe what a horrible experience this was! I was told this last week "If I answer my phone, we could have closed this sale." I had said in each prior conversation that we want to start the service and each time it was like I had never had the previous conversation. My husband even called & said the same thing, we want to start the service, but still someone called yesterday & that was when I was told I should answer my phone to close the deal. He asked if he could call me back again so he could talk to the girl up front, I said no I will hold. She thought I was on mute and said, Oh Mrs.**, what does SHE want. Let me be perfectly clear that this was the first time I had been the least bit frustrated with them on the phone, no need for that attitude.

The fall/winter program started late (my sign-up), but they got all treatments in. Although I had a concern about the timing, I'd let spring results speak for the effectiveness. Their spring services began earlier (late February) than I thought,but our lawn and shrubs look the best they have in the three years living in our current home. It is an expensive program, but I have to admit, it made a positive difference.

We are satisfied with what they do.

They seem to be very knowledgeable. They are friendly. If you tell them to do something differently on the next visit, they follow your instructions. They handle any small problems right away. I will continue to use them.

I do not like trugreen chemlawn s billing and sales practices! They would call me on a regular basis to try to get me to add new treatments that were unnecessary. They would always make it sound like it was a life and death matter and my lawn would die if I didn t let them do this new service. I became very tired of their annoying phone calls. My biggest problem with them was the fact that they began to treat my yard this year without my permission. They claimed that their service was on an automatic renewal system. This is untrue. I only agree to let them do a specific number of treatments. They claimed that they had a phone recording of me giving them permission to do this new treatment. When I asked to hear the phone call, they had said that they had misplaced the recording. They never had a recording. The representative then said she would remove the charge and I should be aware that everything they do is on a renewal basis, whatever that means.

I called in the spring, and they applied the first service right away (less than 1 week) because it was almost too late for crabgrass preventer. Overall, I think the lawn is looking better, but I still think the service is a bit overpriced for the results I'm getting. The fall over seeding turned out to be a waste of money. They did it later than they said, finally coming out the day before I left town for a week, and left a note indicating the lawn needed watered every day. Since that was impossible, the seeding didn't take. I don't know if the aeration actually helped.
