Went to them as they "Have all the Fun" and I needed an electric fireplace insert. Hard to get a sales person to help me. He wasn't very helpful once he found out I wasn't going to be a big sale- even left as I was looking at items and came back and said "what did you decide?" Set came with remote control- was not told that, he could have cared less that we were there. Bought the insert here, then had to drive a mile to loading dock to pick it up and got lost. Came home and installed- looked up on homedepot.com and found it was $20 cheaper there. They don't have all the fun and neither will you if you shop here.

The service was terrible. We have a hot tub for 3 yrs old we bought from Scioto. We have had a lot of problems. It took a month to get fixed. This last time. You think if you sold hot tubs you could get parts in faster and also know what the problem is on the first visit not 3rd. Very disappointed in service. The service use to be good. That is why we purchased from them. Very poor communication to customers. We will only use them in the future because we still have a warranty but if we buy a new hot tub in the future will buy elsewhere. Use until warranty is over

It was the sales rep there that we were purchasing from that was very knowledgeable.

From dealing with our salesman (Harold Wagner) to final delivery, this purchase went like clockwork. In discussions, Harold provided details of several manufacturers and once the type of furniture was selected, carefully walked through fabric selection and color combinations. Once delivery time arrived, delivery personnel were prompt and careful in maneuvering the furniture into proper position. The items purchased were in perfect condition. Clean-up was exceptional. I was very satisfied and look forward to future purchases from Scioto Valley.

Repairman was extremely nice and easy to work with. I had side of hot tub removed for his convenience. He was able to tighten all joints with special tool and found leak quickly. No parts were needed.

Could not have gone any better.

Kept us informed of delivery day. Received phone call and email confirming 2-hour window for delivery. Called day of delivery to confirm again. Delivered easily within 2-hour window.

I was told they didn't have the correct fuse on the truck and they didn't know when it would be in. He thought it might be as long as 2 weeks. Thats about exactly how long it took. The gentleman that fixed the problem was very prompt, courteous, and quick. I felt he was very trustworthy and treated my problem like it was his own. I would not think twice about this employee helping us again.

The service has been excellent. We had to have them come back and they were very responsive and customer oriented.

I was very happy with them. They have all kinds of stuff in the store.

Installation has been a nightmare - We purchased our pool in February and were told we would be one of the first on the list to have the pool installed. The pool was not delivered until May, when we purchased the pool we were told we would have it in 2 weeks. We called back after the 2 week time frame and they still did not have it. We were not concerned until months went by and it was time to start installations. Then we find out they do not have the pool yet and we cannot be added to the installation list until we have taken delivery of the pool. After complaining we finally received our pool. Our first installation date was cancelled because the crew needed another day to finish up an installation they had already started, we were told of the cancellation after 11am on the day scheduled. One day off work taken. We are rescheduled and the crew arrives they are very nice and are taking their time on the installation. The machine they use to check that the ground is level was not working so they left for the day. We said we will see you tomorrow morning, but no they have other jobs scheduled and we will have to wait 5 days for them to come back to complete. Would I recommend this company to anyone????? NO!!!!!!!! We finally spoke with a manager and they are no help - once they have your money they could care less about their customers. Our $4,000 would have been much better spent with another company. Don't make the same major mistake we did.

I interacted with them several times during October and November. Initially the experience was very good and they did come out and take a look at the job. They did not follow through on what they said they were going to do, which was to give me some quotes and estimates. They did not provide that. I called them and they still didn't call back. I decided to buy the stove from them because their price was good but I did not have them do the installation. They didn't do what they said they would. Their price was good. I would go back there but I would be real careful.

Their service is different than it used to be. When I first got a hot tub, they explained everything very thoroughly. This time, they wanted $400 for the delivery, which I thought was too much money. I was upset with the manager. They changed the wiring for the hot tub, and I didn't have the book to see how to work it. I called the company that produced the hot tub, and they sent me what I needed. I wouldn't use them again. It seems like the service is changing from what it used to be. Their prices aren't cheaper than anywhere else. I think the manager should have honored the price of delivery that he gave me.

They were pretty nice. I didn’t go further with the project because it wouldn’t fit in our deck. They were professional and they gave the money back. I was happy with the way they did things.

It went well. The company had to come out multiple times for a few related problems. They were able to repair the tub in a very cost effective manner. They did not charge us for multiple service calls. They are very professional and informative. They taught us a few new tips on how to care for our hot tub.

I could remember the Scioto Valley commercial jingle from way back in the 80's. It never occurred to me to do business with them - I'm just not a hot-tub / pool person. Due to a medical condition we began looking at swim spas. We went to several places and Scioto Valley was the only place that actually had one on display. It was actually filled & in service. You could try it out if you wanted. (I declined). That was a big deal. I can't imagine purchasing something like this without at least being able to poke at the buttons :) They even took part of the skirt off so I could "look under the hood". They are confident in the products they sell. I made a similar request at a different place and the response was, "Why would you want to do that?". Maybe I'm not the typical customer for this sort of thing but I want to see how it's put together. Not a problem at Scioto Valley. Next step was delivery. This thing is BIG & HEAVY and had to fit into a fairly tight space. I had several concerns about the delivery process and Scioto Valley sent Donovan out to discuss the details and assess the location. The delivery went very smoothly and all my concerns were taken into consideration. On delivery day Donovan showed up prepared with appropriate equipment and a gang of about 8-10 people. Everything went very smoothly. The install crew worked together exceptionally well and slid the swim spa gently into the exact spot I had marked. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend Scioto Valley. It is a well established company that carries quality products. The employees that I spoke with had all been with the company for a significant time (5yrs, 8yrs, 14yrs...etc) and enjoyed working there. That translates into exceptional customer service! Kudos to the company owner for taking good care of his people.

We purchased the hot tub new from Scioto Valley in 2001 and have used them for service since then, so it was a no brainer to call them up when the hot tub was down 2 ft and would not hold water. The first service professional was unfortunately under qualified for the difficulty of the leak and returned back to his office without successfully identifying the issue or resolving it. I was near their office in Hilliard on the same day and stopped into discuss the next approach with the service dept. "Jon", apparently the rockstar service professional on staff, walked me through options and anticipated repair costs. He sent me back with a bottle of "stopleak" which in some cases can stop pool or spa leaks as the cheapest approach. He made sure I had his a card and to call him with the success or failure of that approach. Unfortunately the stopleak did not work, and we called Jon out to being with the more labor intensive approach. Jon came out with 3 assistants to flip the tub on its side and begin to remove the insulating foam. Then put the tub up on Cinder blocks to refill and make the underside accessible for leak discovery. After a short time, he discovered that a recirculation pump join (why did Cal Spa make this pump inaccessible?) was cracked and that he had repaired the connection. Jon refilled the tub, sill on blocks. The goal being to be sure that all leaks were discovered and that the bottom would dry out from the soaking water. After a week dry and full, I called them back out to 'refoam' insulate the bottom and set it back on its own base. Throughout the repair, Jon and the Scioto Valley service department communicated well and set my expectations to the cost and expected labor well before attempting anything. The price was under their initial estimate which is always nice. My critiques are that the timeframe of the fix was over 40 days, leaving us without a tub for awhile. That is probably due to us needing Jon's rockstar Spa skills -- he's likely in demand, but would have liked to see a bit more active scheduling for his time once we had an open service case. And for advanced leaks, perhaps Jon should be the first out... not the other tech that wasn't as comfortable with the work required to resolve the leak. Scioto Valley has pleased us in saving our hot tub before the winter freeze, which is what we needed. I wouldn't hesitate to call them again for the next break/fix spa item. Not all repairs go as planned, but Scioto Valley was committed to solving our problem and stayed with it confidently and competently until resolution.

The salesman explained to us the difference between gas logs that are vented to the outdoors (do not provide substantial heat to the room) and those that do not require venting and provide substantial heat to the room. They were both the same price. We chose the latter option, e.g., the non-venting logs. He went further to say that if there are a lot of people in the room and it the temperature is too high, we can open the flew. He then asked if we wanted Scioto Valley to install the unit or we would do the installation. We asked whether it was complicated and he said, "A pipe wrench is all it takes." This guy wanted to make the sale no matter what. It reminded me of a used car salesman. The only thing missing was the white belt and shoes. We don't mind doing the installation ourselves (we're both engineers and like this stuff, quite honestly) but we were led to believe that we had just purchased a unit that contained everything needed to install gas logs. Instead, we need to purchase a sheet metal piece, a special fixture to hold open the flew, and we must anchor the unit to the floor (not explained by the salesman). What should have been a two-hour job is now stretched out over two-three weekends. We wish he would have been more forthcoming. We would have gladly paid to have it done (our time is more valuable) or we could have been more prepared for the job. Lying is not the way to gain trust or make the next sale. Additionally, this guy had a very bad cold/cough and he repeatedly coughed into his hand before shaking ours when he "made the deal." We are done with Scioto Valley. They do NOT have all the fun!

Problem was a fuse. John, the service technician, changed the fuse and showed me how to make the repair in the future as fuse replacement is not covered under warranty. He left me the old fuse so I could obtain spares from a hardware store. He also showed me how to change the other motor fuse should it go bad. He also told me how to replace the cartridge in the ozonator and to make sure I order the part in advance as they do not stock that part. John was professional and very, very helpful. Charge was very fair for the work. I've had spa repairs in the past with a $90 charge just to come to the house in addition to any repairs. I was very, very impressed with John and will ask for him if I need further repairs.

Ok, they did the purchase and delivered most of the furniture except for one piece which was back ordered. They called 4 weeks later to tell me the piece was in & I could pick it up. I left immediately but when I arrived to pick up the furniture, they had given it to someone else. No apology, no discount for the time wasted, etc. I received the piece 2 weeks after that wasted trip.

They seemed very willing to help and scheduled an appointment, however, they could only schedule it 10 days out. They indicated they had many vacation, etc. and that they could not fit it in, even though I was bringing it to them.

They were very helpful in suggesting what I needed to maintain my pool for the summer season.

Very professional. They had several pools that we could look at that were already up and running so we could see what they look like. They were very helpful with getting the pool chemicals straight and are very helpful over the phone whenever we call. They were the best price and quality out of 3 other places we looked.

I CALLED AROUND LOOKING FOR THE APPROPRIATE SIZE ABOVE GROUND POOL COVER AND WAS GIVEN A RUNAROUND BY OTHER POOL STORES: "I THINK WE WILL GET IT IN BY NEXT WEEK, " BLAH BLAH... I CALLED SCIOTO VALLEY, HE EXPLAINED TO ME OVER THE PHONE THE DIFFERENT TYPES AND HAD IT READY & WAITING FOR ME TO PICK UP THAT SAME DAY. THEY WERE COURTEOUS, FRIENDLY & EFFICIENT. THE STORE IS VERY PLEASANT, CLEAN AND EASILY ACCESSIBLE.

WHEN THE INSTALLER CAME TO OUR HOUSE TO INSTALL GAS LOGS HE REFUSED TO INSTALL THEM. HE SAID OUR FIREPLACE WAS NOT GOOD ENOUGH TO INSTALL, EVEN THOUGH ANOTHER COMPANY WHO CLEANED, AND INSPECTED IT SAID OTHERWISE. HE WAS ALSO VERY RUDE TO MY CHILDREN. MY HUSBAND RETURNED THE LOGS A FEW DAYS LATER, AND WAS NOT HAPPY WITH THE PEOPLE AT THE STORE, THOSE WHO WERE STANDING AROUND WATCHING HIM STRUGGLE TO OPEN A DOOR WITH TWO LARGE BOXES IN HIS HANDS. WE COULD NOT GET OUR MONEY BACK RIGHT AWAY, IT HAD TO BE MAILED TO US.
