MVM Moving & Storage - Columbus

It went very well.

First I'd like to say that MVM was very easy to communicate. They contacted me quickly once I put in a request and they confirmed the details of the move multiple times before the date. James called me as they were leaving their location to confirm our address and we had no problems. James and David were our movers and they did a great job. They were professional and friendly, but very efficient. When we arrived at our new condo there was someone else moving in down the street. Their truck arrived before ours and ours left first! I would absolutely recommend MVM and will definitely use them again, hoping that I get James and David!

2 guys showed up 1 hr 45 min. late. 1 guy had never moved a piano, the other guy was surprised they were so heavy. Eventually, they got pianos out and moved, but forgot dolly at my house so my wife had to drive it over to them at drop off site. Price was higher than quoted because they charge for travel from previous job to my job (45 min.) not just travel for my job (3 mi.) + the 2 hour minimum. Luckily, previous job wasn't in Cleveland just Gahanna. If there is another "piano mover" in town, I'll try them first.

Everything went really well with MVM. During my initial call I spoke with someone who was very helpful but admitted he was not in sales and could only really tell me what the hourly rates were and what he thought would be the time needed for my move after going over my inventory list on the phone. He did advise he would have Tim call me as soon as he was able for something more definite though. Tim was prompt in meeting me for the in-person estimate, which was greatly appreciated as I was squeezing it in during my lunch hour. As we walked through the house, he had tips about simple things I could do to help make the moving process more efficient and therefore cheaper since you pay by the hour. In the end, I got an estimate for around $1400, with 2 trucks, 3 movers, roughly 5-7 hours of labor, and 1.25 hours of drive time. MVM was not the cheapest quote I received, nor was it the highest, although it was on the higher end. I just felt comfortable with them because they took the time to come out to the house and look at what needed to be moved, observe the layout of the house, and talk to me about how I could pack and organize things to make it easier and quicker for them on moving day. On the day of the move, there was a hiccup (only 1 truck instead of 2 because of a breakdown), but Tim did what needed to be done to make things right. His solution was to provide a 4th mover (at no extra charge) and agree to 2 trips without billing for the drive time on the second trip. The crew was very professional and presented themselves well. For lack of a better way to put it, they had excellent manners, were quick, hardworking, friendly, and dedicated. Ultimately, Tim's solution worked for the best. Even with only 1 truck and having to make 2 trips, it only took about 7.25 hours, but I was only billed for 5.75 (1 hour free drive time for 2nd trip and they don't bill for time taken for lunch, although I don't think they took a full 1/2 hour). I would recommend MVM to anyone who needs a mover. Again, they aren't the cheapest, but they are reasonably priced and work as quickly and efficiently as possible to make sure you are getting the best value for the money you are spending.

Jacob and RJ were our Movers and I cannot speak highly enough of these young men! Wonderful to work with, very efficient, and very patient with the elderly folks that were all around them using walker while they were trying to move furniture and carry heavy loads. A pleasure to work with ! We will be using MVM Moving in Columbus for everything in the future.

Tim arrived a week ahead of time to look at what I had and gave me a fair and accurate quote. We decided to use two trucks and four crew members (one for the condo, and one for the storage unit). On moving day, the team arrived on time and worked efficiently, They went above and beyond helping me to rewire a washer/dryer and move some existing furniture in the home we purchased to other rooms. They were fun, professional, careful, and most of all moved quickly since I was paying hourly. The company is based out of Maumee, OH and recently opened a location in the Columbus market. Although newer to this area, the crew working here has been with them for years. From a southern gentleman to a fitness competitor, these guys were down to business. They were clean cut, good looking, and always smiling. I highly recommend using MVM Moving & Storage for all of your relocation needs.
