Could not have gone better

Awesome - Eric came the same day, and it turned out that the softener was NOT broken (user error). Eric could have tried to sell me a new water softener, but he was totally honest and had integrity. He also ran tests on my water while he was here, and taught me about my system. He even tried to only charge me $20 for the trip, I insisted on paying his standard service trip charge.

Service was perfect. Eric worked to locate the system in a non-invasive location in the basement and plumbed the system to be out of the way as requested. He was very professional and worked quickly to get the system installed. I would highly recommend Midwest if you need a softener.

He arrived early to the installation appointment, and was finished in very short time, Educated me on what I need to do to maintain it, and to check for defects. There was a defect (it leaked). I called him back, he came in the very next day, identified the fault, and repaired it. No extra charge, no hassle. If the defect wasn't fixed by his repair (it was a manufacturer fault), he will replace the unit, again, free of charge. I don't think that will be necessary. He is very professional, friendly, punctual. The price I would pay was made clear to me up front, and the final charge was exactly what he said it would be. I felt very comfortable working with him, and I am confident that he will continue to stand behind his work.

Eric knows his water softeners and solutions for producing great water. He arrived on time and worked late (5 pm appointment) to get our water up and running again. Another water softener company I contacted didn't pay much attention to my system and immediately went over the benefits of buying their $4000 system. At $700, our system is working better than it ever has before (it looked pretty old when we bought our house a few years ago).

Our old Hague water softener gave out after 15 years. Hague came out and deemed it irreparable and offered a sales call. After doing a thorough internet search, Fleck water softeners had the best reviews with the best prices. Midwest Water Softeners offered this product locally. I liked the no nonsense, honest approach of the Midwest Water Softeners owner: He answered my calls personally; he gave intelligent responses to my questions; he recently posted some short online videos that explain water softener functions for inquiring clients; he drove out to our home immediately to see if he could repair our old unit himself, and when he concurred that the old softener was truly unfixable, he offered the Fleck softener at a decent price, installed, providing options without any high pressure. We liked the price, his 'next door neighbor sales style' , and choose a Fleck through Midwest. The owner personally came out to install the unit. One can tell he takes great pride in his company. The softener is working great, just in time for a houseful of guests for the holidays.
