Metro Heating & Air Conditioning

Would NOT recommend. Air conditioning quit working during the hottest time of the month. The technician made the assumption that the system needed the condenser replaced at a cost of over $2500.00 or the unit needed replaced at a cost of over $5500.00. This assumption was made without checking all components. A technician from outside of Metro was called to check the unit. He replaced the start conductor at a cost of $40.00 and the unit was up and running!! This was one of the components that the Metro tech refused to test, even after we asked him to do so several times.

Tech arrived within the hour I called, my thermostat would not move up or down but whole house fan was working. Mark Huggins assessed furnace and quoted price of 225.00 to repair my furnace which I accepted, few mins later he told me my six yr old furnace needed a new motor it would be over one thousand dollars, I declined at that point and was left with a totally blacked out thermostat and fan, I was left worse then before he came out and have trouble believing repair cost

There was no work done at my property

Furnace was not running. Called and left message on Sunday night. Got call back early Monday morning. Technician was here by 10:30AM. Fixed problem and made other needed adjustments, replaced filter. Took about an hour. Technician was very courteous and professional and gave a complete explanation of the issues he found and the fixes that he made. He also advised on likely future maintenance issues and life of furnace (better news than I expected). Very impressed by overall experience.

This is the second home that we've used Metro-Air for installation services. The installation team was punctual, friendly and extremely considerate. While they were installing the new furnace, I asked them if they could look at redoing the vent under our kitchen counters. They said they could have something built up in the shop and bring it out the next day. We also asked them to look at the existing ductwork to see if they could improve some of the air flow. They removed a lot of waste and the house feels a ton better. They removed a useless fan from one of the duct runs, decreased the amount of and quot;droopand quot; in the flexible duct work and decreased the size on one of the runs since it did not need as much air flow. They are good people, they do good work and they stand by their work. We liked them after our first install and like them even more after this install. We will be lifelong customers.

I can't not say enough positive things about this company. Three and half years ago they installed a new furnace and central air system in our home. The original unit was not large enough for our home and was inefficient. Metro Heating and Air installed a great product, on time and under the estimate allotted. We have been very happy with the product. Recently we decided to sell our home and during the inspection it was determined that they unit outside was not level and needed to be fixed. I contacted the company and expected a battle given that many companies these days do not stand behind their product. Metro took full responsibility and had someone out to level the unit in two days. There was no charge. We will be using them in the future for all of our heating and air conditioning needs.

They were great. The workers were great with me and my husband. I really liked them and was very happy with their service. We had no problems, they quoted me a price that was very reasonable, and I would use them again.

As mentioned above, I have been very happy with MetroAir. I was very dissatisfied with the service and installation of company that put the HVAC system in our new build home. The other company was unreliable for appointments and we found out from inspections from 2 different companies that the initial HVAC company performed shoddy work and cut corners on the installation. We have used them since 2/09. I would recommend MetroAir not only on skill and service, but price as well.

Our AC was more than 20 years old. We got several quotes. John Doughty got back to us promptly and went through the options. He explained everything well and didn't try to sell us something we didn't need. Within a week, the installers were here to put in the new AC. It was raining heavily, and they didn't complain. They put down sheets in the house to keep the floor clean. The installation process went smoothly. The new system seems to be working great.

I use them twice a year. I think they charge $75 per equipment item. It might be more than that; about $150. I don't know and I don't have the information in front of me to report on it. I do a subscription service every year and I pay according to that. There is a price for my furnace and a price for my air-conditioner. I think they are different. It does not seem to be unreasonable but I don't know what other people charge. In 1990 there was a cold snap and my furnace died. I needed a new furnace and they were there the next day with a new furnace. They saved me from freezing. I have a tendency to reward that with royalty. On the last visit, they checked my air conditioner to see if it was ready for the season. They are very good. They are here when they say they will be here. The people they send out are very professional. They don't waste any time. I can relay on the equipment usually to last until the next year. There is so little going on with my HVAC equipment that it is very hard to comment; it's working. I will use them again in the future.

They were fine. We've used them in the past, and they've always done a good job.

The price charged was reasonable. It took them four tries to install the product properly. They kept coming back until they did it right. On one hand they get bad marks for not doing it properly the first three times but they do get good marks for coming back to get it installed in the right way. I would consider using their services to get an estimate.

He had to come out twice. The first time, he didn’t fix the problem. So he had to come out again. The furnace was cycling way too quickly and it is still doing that. However, it is a 26-year-old furnace and I was not sure if it could be made to run like a brand new furnace. I liked the guy and he was very personable. I thought he was knowledgeable. I decided that I will have to concentrate not just on the company, but also on the product that the company provides. Some of the people from whom I got the estimate didn’t offer what he offered on the furnace. So I have decided to go with his estimate for the furnace as well.

The quote went through the general contractor. They were professional. They put in a fairly new system that they hadn't had much experience with. They came out several times, but had trouble getting it adjusted right. They took several service calls on a monthly basis.

Getting an appointment exactly when I needed it was no problem. When the day arrived, the repairman called me when he was on the way, and was right on time. The visit took about 90 minutes; he was very thorough and obviously took the time to do the job right. He said my condenser coil (in back yard) was very clogged with grass and it needed some serious cleaning! He also needed to add some Freon into the system. Said he had been doing this for 20 years; definitely knew what he was doing; did not try to sell me anything. Patiently explained to me exactly what he had done and gave me advice on how to keep the unit clean in the future. I definitely will continue to use Metro Heating and Air. Note that above price includes their service plan, for which I will get an additional visit this fall to tune up my gas furnace.

I told them another company thought it was the condenser, so without checking the system, they replaced the condenser. When that didn't fix the problem, they blamed it on me and said I wanted them to replace the condenser, which was not the case. I just wanted them to fix the A/C. They told me they could take my old condenser to see if it was really broken, but they never followed up with that part of the work. All they ended up having to do was clean it out because it was really clogged with dirt and pet hair. I really felt ripped off. The guy was also rude to me and yelled at me in my home because my husband called the office to complain.

Pretty good, with a few glitches. HVAC equipment went very well: all function fine;installed plumbing, "clean", "neat". Duct installed was by different team: They did not follow directions and marks on duct mods;duct runs down center of crawlspace rather than side. Metro offered to fix;still may have them out to do. Cold air return was noisy;they came out right away to fix it, and replaced outdoor fusebox they missed. Asked for in writing to have Honeywell top of the line VisionPro thermostat, including "smart"learning function (learns from prior day/time how long to achieve next set point, better comfort). Metro installed almost comparable Trane unit (does not "learn"); I have been too busy to ask them to replace w/ Honeywell). Clean-up and disposal after work very good (not present to verify captured old refrigerant, but think they did fine). Trane AC unit quality wanting somewhat: Outside AC unit has "Tinsel" cooling fins rather than metal disks;will get dirty fast.

They take care of our systems twice a year. They are always punctual, courteous and explain what they are doing. No complaints and I recommend them to neighbors.

Danny, the gentleman I worked with, understood the need to replace a lot of the old duct work and also fix and repair other parts of the duct work. Answered every question I had and just did a really great job putting both units in. I now have cool air in the upstairs.

They have enough staff that they can be very responsive. They really got me out of a jam in the past when my heating went out. All around they're a nice group of people. Always a great job.

THEY WERE $2000 CHEAPER FOR SAME UNIT WITH BETTER WARRANTY THAN THE COMPETITOR. A JOY TO HAVE IN MY HOME.

FAILED TO RETURN MESSAGES. MISDIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM. TOOK 13 DAYS TO ORDER WRONG PART. DID NOT KEEP US INFORMED OF THE STATUS. CHARGED US TWO HOUSECALLS (FOR THEIR MISTAKES). PROVIDED NO HELP ON HOW TO EXERCISE OUR WARRANTY (ON THE UNITS THEY SOLD US). VERY BAD EXPERIENCE.

REPAIRED OUR AIRCONDITONER. THOUGH PRICE WAS HIGH, THE WORK WAS GOOD.

COMPANY CALLED MEMBER TO REMIND HIM OF WARRANTY CHECK UP. CAME OUT SAME DAY HE CALLED. DID A GREAT JOB- CLEANED UP, CHECKED AND FILLED A/C AND EXPLAINED WHAT HE WAS DOING TO MEMBER.
