I purchased my home about 3 years ago. One of the deciding factors in the purchase was that EverDry of Columbus waterproof the basement several years prior to the purchase. The system includes two separate sump pumps on each end of my sizable basement. Last year, many home owners here in Berwick experienced flooding in there basement. I am happy to say that my basement stayed bone dry. I had an issue with one of the sump pumps about a year ago. EverDry came right out and replaced it with no charge. I have been most impressed with EverDry and recommend them whenever a friend or family has flooding issues in their basement.

As one of the previous reviews mentioned, this was a high pressure sales operation. I was strongly encouraged multiple times to go with a pricier product even though I actually wanted for the time being. After multiple calls to push up the date of job, I gave in. I wanted to prevent more moisture seeping into my basement but came to find out from one of the employees that the product wouldn't work, on that day of the job. I was LIVID. After getting the run around from this company, I just decided to sue them. It wasn't until I spoke to my lawyer, did I find out that they've sued them multiple times and mentioned that employees steal during constructions. I have spoken to a mason about fixing my basement, even he told me that he's heard so many horror stories about Everdry and how they've been sued. Without even seeing my basement, he knew that there was plastic up against my walls and pointed out that it was to hide the crappy work of Everdry and if he were to touch it, he'd void me warranty. One of the managers named Aaron told me that my basement would be dry within 6 months, my basement has not been getting dyer. In fact, I've had to masons told me to solve my problem, I need to actually dig up my basement floor. Neither of them can help me at this moment since I'm taking this company to court. Do not, I repeat, DO NOT work with Everdry Waterproofing. After reading another review on hear, I'm almost certain that they actually screwed up my foundation more now that before. I've been told that they're crooks and cons. I asked the general manager to put something in writing and he refused, he said he'd have someone email me and that never happened.

Very smoothly from meeting with Jerry Schieve & getting a free quote. To confirming the job, Q came and hooked up the E Z Breathe. The next day Aaron & his crew showed up @ 8:15, I was told they would show up between 8-9 so that was great. Arrived with 5 guys if I’m not mistaken by the end of the day they had at least 10-11 men working, now that’s what I’m talking about. And with all that they finished up the 3 day job 1 day earlier. Hats off to Aaron the crew,Q, Jerry and the whole Columbus Ever Dry company.

They were very professional. They got the job done in four days which was originally going to be 4-5 days because of the rain. They handled issues they encountered which they did in an efficient way. We did financing with one of their partners. Some time before the service started we had to make some changes to the contract which they did rapidly and effectively.

It didn't go. The day before the scheduled meeting, we got a call from the company DEMANDING that both my wife and I be there together. When I said only I would be there - the woman on the phone persisted, I said so that it would only be me. She kept prattling on and I asked, "So if my wife isn't going to be there - you're not coming?" She again insisted we want you both there. That was it. They won't be coming. This is a HIGH PRESSURE sales operation where they want to sign you up right away. Should have read the reviews here first and would never have called in the first place.

Beware, if you hire Everdry items from your house may come up missing. We had an engagement ring, 25 Anniversary ring and a 35 Anniversary Ring stolen while Everdry crew was in our house. Other then the house owners, Everdry people were the only ones in the house when the rings were taken. All employees denied taking the rings, as would be expected. The companies response was that this was not their problem. Remain very very vigilant if you have them working on your house. This was a terrible experience.

Horrible. Also learned that Everdry does not and will not repair or reimburse from damages caused by their systems failure to perform, or their guarantee to fail. Any structural damages a homeowner is forced to undertake themselves will not be reimbursed!!! Also....the little "Arbitration" clause in their contract prevents the homeowner from litigation so you cannot recover for damages. Scare tactics about dangerous mold to influence a sale. For part of the work they installed perforated pipe 8" below ground on a 90 year old house with no drain tiles at the footer (pic). ...some pipe did not have a gravel bed. 8 years later and multiple trips back for water entering has still left me with a wet basement and damaged walls. Mold growing (pic) where water keeps coming in. They claim seepage is unavoidable, however I have videos of water running not seeping, down my walls over a 30 foot section, that has left staining on the walls (pic). Basement walls now damaged and crumbling (pic), my insurance company threatened to cancel my homeowners policy if the damage was not corrected ASAP....and Everdry refused. They wanted to utilize the same strategies on the outside they had already done that had grossly failed. Refued to repair the damaged areas. When I obtained 3 separate professional opinions on how to correct the problem...all reported putting in drain tile at the footer and sealing walls. When this was presented to Everdry, they discredited the knowledge and reputation of these 3 companies, although I had never indicated who the companies were. One young man from Everdry in particular told me in June 2017 they could correct the problem by drilling holes through the footer to allow outside water to enter into the inside drainage system. When I refused this and filed a claim with the BBB, the main manager at Everdry claimed that they don't do that drilling procedure....but yet that was exactly what the field people wanted to do. Everdry's local General Manager agreed to reimburse for damaged landscaping in Sept 2017...in writing to the BBB, then sent a response 30 days later again through the BBB claiming they do not reimburse for those landscaping damages. This past year it was discovered after a massive hole opened up in my yard and we had a cave in of my old septic system (pic).....and that unknown to me, Everdry had installed the sump pump discharge lines into my old septic system (pic) when they installed their system in 2010. When I called them to inquire where they routed the discharge, they claimed in a perforated pipe into the yard....which was clearly incorrect. To prevent my homeowners insurance from being cancelled and also prevent further basement wall and foundation damage, I have had to pay another company to come in to correct the drainage problem and properly seal the exterior walls, and install drainage tile around the footer, and route drainage water to the proper location instead of my private septic system or previous septic system because Everdry refused to correct the problems in a manner that would have been successful.

It went great. The gentlemen worked promptly from 8am to 3pm for only two days! Although quite expensive, it's well worth it to have our basement waterproofed. It now gives us peace of mind, where as before we were so worried that the basement would be flooded every time there was a heavy rain. Prior to the installation, we talked with Scott Seneff, who is a manager. He was the last person we interviewed for the job. We had also spoke to Ohio Basement Authority and Roger's Basement Waterproofing. We asked him what makes Everdry better than these two companies. He explained that Everdry has better methods of waterproofing now because they've been around longer and they know what works and what doesn't. We had talked to Ohio Basement Authority before. They wanted to do almost the same thing for about $2K cheaper. However, I didn't like that they were trying to sell us on the Cadillac of all dehumidifiers, right off the bat and that their method of installing this drainage system wasn't as great as Everdry's. Ohio Basement Authority wanted to install a drainage system around the perimeter of the basement above the footers. This wouldn't have helped as well and Everdry explained why. Roger's Basement Authority was significantly cheaper and used better methods than Ohio Basement Authority, however they wanted to install weep holes into the concrete block. Our walls are finished though and they would have taken the bottom part of the drywall off to install the weep holes and although it would alleeve more pressure off the basement walls, it would initially bring more moisture into the basement, which destroys the whole waterproofing concept. I am in no way a spokesperson for their company, but I felt I should share our experience to help others. There are a lot of complaints of this company that we actually asked Scott about while he was there. He said a lot of the complaints stem from the fact that the lifetime warranty is only good for one year and after that it costs $75 a year to maintain that same warranty. We will definitely be keeping up on this each year. We also shared our invoice totals to get a better deal, so it helps to shop around first before settling on the right person for the job.
Description of Work: Basement waterproofing on the outside and inside perimeter of the basement. This drainage system was installed to alleviate pressure due to heavy rains and cold weather. Also, we had an Easy Breathe machine installed that circulates the basement air, so less humidity gets trapped. (We also run two dehumidifiers and an Ecobee system. We feel very prepared for harsh weather conditions now.)

They kept bashing their competitors which I personally thought was unprofessional. After they did the measurements, they started giving me a lot of information on their company which I didn't ask for and that I felt was wasting of time. They provided with me with 3 different ways to do remediation of my problem. I found this to be frustrating, due to just wanting to find out how to fix the issue, and not to be provided multiple different options. I called to complain and wasn't able to speak with the owner. The whole situation left me feeling very frustrated.

It actually was draining the water line from the street, it was actually spraying in the basement wall. The basement was a mess. Our front yard had to be dug up like three times. It was quite an experience. I think that we finally got it all straightened out, but they still haven’t fixed all the damage they did to the yard. It was an emergency thing. We contacted them, and made the appointment. Then it all really hit the fan. They couldn’t get anybody out here. So, I had to bring somebody else in to get this kind of a stop gap thing until they could get here. It’s just been a nightmare. I will say every time we complained, they did get someone out here right away. Except the last time my wife finally called in. We’ve got two streaks about a foot wide. From the house clear out to the front, that they dug up, and they never did anything about re-sodding or anything about it. My wife called them, and said, are you going to fix this? He goes, well, we don’t do anything like that, and basically just hung up on her. They were very good about coming back out to fix things, but it was things that should have been done to start with. Could have fixed it right the first time.
Description of Work: We had our drain system for sup pump that went out to the street, we had 15 feet of it was just solid with tree root. It was backing things up. The sup pump had to be replaced.

I called on July 14th and set an appointment for 6pm the following Monday. At 6:10, no one was there, so I called. They did not have a record of me in their system. The gentleman who I spoke with called me by the wrong last name 3 different times. He then said he would research the issue and call me back. It's been 2 weeks, I don't think they're calling me back. Very unprofessional company. I chose a different contractor to do the work.

When I first spoke with the receptionist on the phone she asked if I lived with anyone else. My response was "yes". After her assumption that it was my "husband" who lived with me, she insisted that he be there when the estimate took place. Not wanting to correct her to tell her it was actually my boyfriend who lives with me, and because it's none of her business, I told her that he has to work and would not be there the entire time. She still insisted that he needed to be there in order to answer all questions, and told me if he wasn't going to be there that the guys coming out to give me an estimate would leave. I figured she must just be telling me this because she assumes that my so called "husband" and I both share the mortgage. I thought there is no way the men coming over to inspect my house will not give me an estimate because my boyfriend, who does not have any ownership of the house not be there. Clearly when the men find out that I am the sole owner of the home they will be willing to give me an estimate... ...NOPE... Two men came in and right away asked if we both would be able to stay for the hour and half of information they were about to go over. My boyfriend said he needed to leave to go to work and they just stopped and said they would have to reschedule when both of us were available because they were going to be giving us a lot of information and wanted to make sure both of us asked all questions we had all at once. I told them that we were not married and that I was the sole owner of the home. They said "that doesn't matter", and then went on to apologize saying "we don't mean to offend you"... We'll am sorry but that policy makes no sense and is VERY offensive. So since I'm a women, I can't handle and hour and a half of information and be able to make my own decision on what work I want done on MY house? Are they serious???? I am taking by business and money elsewhere.

Another company did the work and did a great job! Since they refused to resolve the problem.
Description of Work: Just want people to know I used them in'89 paid my warranty fee every year. Last year my basement walls started caving in. They came out and looked at the situation and it was not under the warranty. Had to hire someone else to do the repairs. The bill was almost *$8000. Only thing they did was clean out the sup pump hole. The other company had to dig down to the footer and pour concrete into the block. Put a rubber shield on the wall and fill with gravel. Very unhappy with Everdry for water proofing the basement walls. I had 9 windows that had cracked due to the problem and it was almost $1000.

It went very well. The inspector was very honest, friendly, and professional, and he did not waste our time. It turns out Everdry only really provides major overhauls to foundations which is way more than what would have made sense for our situation. Nevertheless, in about an hour he checked for issues on both the interior and exterior, pointed out some minor issues we may want to address and provided us an estimate in case we ever want Everdry waterproofing performed. One odd quirk was with the scheduling. They insist that you have your spouse present for the inspection. I noticed on some other reviews that women took offense to this. Just FYI, I'm male and they asked the same to me as well so it's not sexism. All in all I am very happy. Even though I do not need their waterproofing performed at this time, I learned what to look out for and know of some trouble spots I have in my home.

Everdry wanted to replace my ENTIRE drainage system ($15,000). When getting quotes from other places we found it was just a bad sump pump. There was no type of analysis done to determine root cause, they just hit me with their most expensive package. When I cancelled my service, they tried to tell me this wouldn't work. It's been over 6 months with heavy rains and no problems. The sump pump was all the needed to be fixed!

I called in to get an estimate today. I told the gentleman on the phone that I was referred. He started to take my information and then asked when my husband gets home from work. I told him that it depends on the day but it doesn't matter, I'll handle this. He proceeded to tell me that they found it was only useful if we were both there so they could answer questions. I told him my husband travels and is not always home. I don't even know his schedule every day as it's always changing. He continued to tell me they wouldn't come out unless we were both home. Is this guy for real? It's 2016....people work and travel and guess what, WOMEN can make financial decisions. I'm shocked this even happened and they wouldn't service me without my husband home. Well, I guess I'll get in my DeLorean now and go back to the future.
