Eco Plumbers, Electricians, and HVAC Technicians

The experience was very positive at the start. On the original walk through, the team missed a few things so the original estimate increased. The price increased dramatically with the need to take up the basement floor, but the house is old and we were not surprised by this. EcoPlumbers provided updated written estimates. Toward the end of the project, we had a difficult time getting them to send a team to our house for a dedicated period of time to complete the fixture install (everything had been roughed in at this point). A week before move in, I had to pressure the team leader to get the project done. Following "completion" of the job, the waste line in the kitchen sink leaked. After they came out to fix it once, it still leaked. I ended up taking it apart and repair it myself. Three weeks later, a supply line ruptured in the second-floor bathroom and flooded the first floor and basement when we were away for the day. This necessitated a two month dry out and major repairs to the first floor. EcoPlumbers did send a plumber out to make repairs immediately. They had a restoration team come in, although I had to call them back the first day because they left large parts of our house outside in the middle of winter. We had to work with their insurance company and I had a difficult time getting through to the owner of the company. Throughout the process, he did not appear sympathetic to living in a house with a newborn with fans and drying equipment running 24-7 on two floors. We had replaced all of the plumbing to avoid dealing with all of these problems. The story would have ended there, but three and a half years later, we are still finding problems. We had an odd smell in the second-floor bath on and off for two years. I could not identify the source but was sure that it couldn’t be the plumbing because it was brand new (all of it). After a friend changed out his toilet wax seal for a similar problem, my wife and I did the same thing twice. This was definitely the source of the smell, but the wax seal replacement did not solve the problem. Finally, my father and I removed the toilet and tool the screws out of the flange. To our surprise, the entire PVC flange slid off. There was about a 1/8 gap between the pieces of PVC as they were sized wrong; EcoPlumbers had also not cemented them together (although, this would have been impossible because of the gap). We had sewer gas leaking into the bath for two years. I was able to recover the cost of the parts and some labor for EcoPlumbers for having to make this repair myself. It took about two months and a number of calls and e-mail messages. This winter, we had another strong smell like something died in the basement. We had always had an odd smell, but the house is old and I figured it was a product of that. I had installed another bathroom in the basement, and the smell was stronger with the bath fan running. It seemed to be coming from beneath the half bath on the first floor. After probing around an area with a number of cobwebs, I found a crushed vent pipe that was leaking sewer gas into the basement. I called EcoPlumbers about this and was given the same response as I initially faced with the sewer gas in the upstairs bathroom (“It passed inspection, how could there be anything wrong.”). The owner and a project leader came out to inspect. We settled on a solution that would avoid needing to remove too much of the walls in the bath and avoid damage to an adjacent room. One of their plumbers came the following week to make the repair. Almost immediately, the bathroom sink started to gurgle when we flushed the toilet. I figured that this meant the vent link was obstructed (old house). Since I had no idea when this happened, I figured it was my responsibility to resolve. I work with a roofer and another plumber to flush the vent line, but the problem persisted. The other plumber realized the long run of the pipe and the diameter meant that it was necessary to install an air admittance valve. I removed more of the wall, we replace some of the vent link, and the air admittance valve was installed. The problem immediately disappeared. The problem is that EcoPlumbers should have found this before they left the house. Even better, the vent line should not have been leaking sewer gas (and the odd roach) into the basement for more than three years. If it was installed correctly the first time, this problem would have been found without needing to remove walls with lead paint with children living in the house. My hope is that our plumbing problems are done for now, but I have thought that three times before and always been wrong. If you have a new build or newer house, this company might be OK. If you have an older house, I would not recommend them. The issue wasn’t any one problem (mistakes happen), but rather the pattern of consistent, sloppy mistakes. The one benefit might be that I have learned a lot about plumbing over the past three years via the school of hard knocks.

Service man was great. Little pricey. Ad said $230 and I was charged $350. When I finally used the faucet, the pressure seems low and not as powerful as old one.

The guy was here for 10-15 minutes. Charged me $200 he didn't even have to get his power snake out. Last year I had the same thing done by another vendor for half the price. I have used these guys before and was happy. After this I am not sure I will be a return customer in the future. I called and asked for a service call they did not have anyone available until the next day. I asked for the price and they said I service tech would have to quote it on the scene. After waiting a day for them to arrive I had to get the problem fixed. I would not have had them come out if I had known up front that it was going to be $200.

To replace two spigots was quoted at $800 which was too expensive! The guy was nice, but I didn’t go through with the service.

Terrible! I was just not ever going to use them again when I got this reminder from Angie's List and I got angry all over again! I called them out to fix an expansion tank they installed upside down from a water heater replacement they had done a couple of years before. I was charged for it a little over $200. During that replacement, they removed the flexible piping on the cold water side, preventing me from moving the water heater back where the original one was before they had previously replaced it. The new expansion tank was left hanging at the end of ~2 ft of pipe with no support whatsoever?!?! While I was talking to them about fixing the issue with the expansion tank I asked them to come back out to fix a gas leak we found between where the gas feed comes from the gas meter into the house. It took them less than 30 minutes but it cost me over $650 to take the meter off, remove the pipe chase coming into the house, re-dope it and putting it back on. Buyer beware... they are a slick outfit that will try to up-sell every chance they get!!!

We had Eco Plumbers install a new water heater in our home two years ago. The approximate Cost $3000. (We were replacing a seven-year old water heater.) When the water heater was installed, the plumber added a drip pan beneath the water heater as our basement had been finished since the first water heater was installed. We had 3 items that needed to be routed into one floor drain: the water heater drain, the Aprilaire Humidifier that was connected to our furnace, and the air conditioner condensate drainline. Because the floor drain was apparently too small to put all three drains into one place, the plumber routed the water heater drip pan thru the Aprilaire pipe then the two combined went into the floor drain. Then the floor drain needed to accommodate only the air conditioner, along with the two combined. Unfortunately, there was a possible back-up in our floor drain causing the humidifier to back up into the Water Heater drip pan. Because we were not down in the basement on a regular basis, and there was not noticeable water on the basement floor, we did not notice that there was standing water in the pan of the water heater. When we finally noticed water on the floor, we called Ecoplumbers. There was water in the drip pan as well as some water on the basement floor. Ecoplumbers informed us that the two-year old water heater was compromised and that we would need a new replacement. The plumber explained that the water heater could leak and cause significant damage, and that we needed to get a new water heater right away. Three days before we needed to leave on vacation, we decided that we had to have the water heater replaced immediately. We paid the $3000 again to replace the two-year old water heater. This time, when Ecoplumbers came out to replace the second water heater, they installed blocks to elevate the water heater. This elevation would keep the newest water heater from sitting in water in case of a leak. They also routed all three drains into the floor drain. It was a tight fit, but it worked. There was no risk of one drain leaking into the other. If the floor drain backs up, the water heater will now be protected. Per their summary findings: “Cust has a possible backed up drain with a AprilAire drain that needs to be tied into condensation line for furnace and hot water tank needs its own single drain and install new tank and raise it up with blocks.” After the newest water heater was installed, we began to question whether or not we should be completely responsible for the damage to the water heater. It appeared that the way that the Aprilaire humidifier was routed into the water heater drip pan led to the demise of the water heater. If Ecoplumbers had not routed the humidifier into the water heater drip pan, there never would have been any water to ruin the second water heater. Although we had already paid the cost of the newest water heater, I felt that I should bring up my concerns to Ecoplumbers customer service. I felt that it didn’t seem completely fair to be charged for a whole new water heater when Ecoplumbers themselves installed the one that got damaged. We paid the invoice on Tuesday 03-20-18. On Friday 03-23-18, I called and spoke to Bron and explained everything mentioned above. Bron was very nice and explained that he was 2nd in command and I would have to talk to Aaron, the owner of Ecoplumbers. Bron said he would have Aaron call me. Aaron called me a week later on Friday 03-30-18. Bron had not spoken to Aaron about our situation, so I had to explain everything again. I explained the situation and said that it just did not seem fair that I had to pay for two water heaters in two years due to how their first new water heater was plumbed into the floor drain. Aaron said he understood what I was saying and that he would discuss this issue with his installer and get back to me. After not getting a call back, I called and tried to leave a message for Aaron. I was not given a number to call him directly and was told he does not have voicemail, so I left a message with customer service. I did not get a call back. On Monday 04-16-18, I called again and talked to Kaleigh in customer service. Kaleigh was very apologetic and said she would have Aaron call me back. On Friday 04-20-18 11:56AM, Aaron called back and left me a voicemail insinuating that he thought we had already discussed everything and was wondering why I was calling again. I called back at 2:30 the same day and left a message with customer service to please have him call me back. As of today, no one has called back. We have no complaint about the installers or quality of work performed. The plumbers were professional and skilled. I feel like I just got the runaround from the ownership after spending $6000 on two water heaters in two years due to how their first installation was plumbed in. I just wanted to work out a compromise or some sort of discount, but since it was already paid in full, I suppose Ecoplumbers was done with me.

Arrived early. Nathan was very respectful of my time, my home and cleanliness. He had a tablet which he was able to use to give me an estimate of the work to be done for the two different jobs. He was done with both in 2 hours. Could not be happier.

It went well On Monday we had Holden Snyder come to house to resolve drain issue. He quickly determined the issue was with the outside line. He snaked the line and cleared the blockage. Holden arranged for another technician to follow up with camera view o f the line at no additional charge. As a result, Travis Mershon came out Friday. He spent 2 hours with us after battling the weather and patiently answered all of our questions. He provided us with long term options, as well, to permanently resolve the issue.

Great service. Eco is very fortunate to have such an outstanding employee As Travis working in their organization. In my opinion , Travis is a service plumbing expert and was able to analyze my problem and explain in simple terms what was necessary to solve my potential plumbing sewer problems. Travis was very professional , courteous, and extremely knowledgeable. He gave details and answered any and all questions . On a scale of ,1 to 10, I would would rate Travis as a 10. "Good Man". It could not have gone better. I have a new, more efficient toilet, and my outdoor spigot/faucets no longer leak. The service tech, Ammar was professional, knowledgeable, and did not try to pressure me into buying anything I didn't need. Eco-Plumbers can be very proud to have employees like Ammar. I would definitely recommend them to friends and family, and will certainly contact them again for all my plumbing needs.

Had a toilet that kept running intermittently. Eco-Plumbers great technician, Ammar Tiba, arrived on time, immediately diagnosed the problem, and had the repair completed in 10 minutes. Ammar really knows his stuff!

We couldn’t be more pleased with the service we received from this company. They responded within just a few hours to our hot water tank issue and the two employees who came out were very professional, knowledgeable, and thoroughly explained our options to replace our hot water tank. Soon after, the technicians came to replace the tank. They too were very professional and had the tank replaced in a little over an hour. The company's communication was excellent, from emailing a picture of the technicians, to showing on a map where the truck was located, to quickly sending an invoice, to emailing an evaluation questionnaire. This company was fast and the employees were very professional and had us back with hot water very soon. Highly recommended!

My interaction with Luke was excellent. He was clearly a subject matter expert with the interpersonal skills to match. He did everything in his power to give me the best possible rate, while maintaining his integrity as an employee. Luke was able to answer all of my questions, both on the subject of my issue specifically as well as information about EcoPlumbers as a company. He was an incredible representation of a great company.

Eco plumbers were professional and knowledgeable and gave us several options to fix our drainage issue. Our underground piping was destroyed due to tree roots. It was also 30 year old pipe that was never touched and had shifted so the water was not draining to the street. They answered our many questions and added their own input. The day of the job, two men showed up and cut my sod and dug up a trench for new piping. I came our several times and they stopped to let me know what they were doing. They put my sod back down and cleaned up. I was pleased with the work and the company and would use them again.

Excellent service. The issue occurred Sunday evening. I called that night, and The Eco Plumbers had someone there by 10:30 a.m. Monday. Luke was - as I stated - excellent. He was very thorough, communicative, and straight forward in laying out options to resolve the source of the issue. As bad as the situation was, I was quite satisfied with the result that Luke was able to deliver.

Decently. Now I know my options. Frankly, the estimate for installing a new clean out is extortionary and usury. Somehow, your company believes that $4,500.00 for a day's work is "fair". As a life-long construction "worker" - I am a master carpenter, journeyman electrician and competent plumber (your tech was gobsmacked when he saw the boiler system I've installed in my house, stating that he couldn't build such a system) - the notion that it should cost this much money to dig a hole, crack a pipe and install the clean out is absurd. You can get away with this with civilians. Not so much with a guy like me. Perhaps you'd like to re-figure the cost of doing this comparatively simple job. Who knows, I might even do it myself.

Went fine. Trevor came over and was able to troubleshoot with me. He made some very clear recommendations. Was very helpful. I've worked with this company many times before and recommend them highly.
