Eco Plumbers, Electricians, and HVAC Technicians

I purchased a new garbage disposal including installation on the daily deal. Slight delay in scheduling due to July 4th holiday but not a big problem. I chose to upgrade to the 1/2 HP for an additional $ 35. They removed old disposal and installed new one in about an hour. Everything went well and it works great. My wife was very pleased with how neat they were.

It went well. It was an Angie's List Big Deal. The plumber was quick, efficient, and professional.

They and cleared my main drain and discovered that my sump pump was burned out. I asked if they could replace my sump pump with a larger, battery-backed one and work that into their schedule so I could get the work done today. The technician that came out was very nice but self admitted was inexperienced and he was sent over because our originally scheduled tech was held up at a job. He did a good job replacing our kitchen faucet and hose and snaked all of the drains with no problem. When he took our bath tub drain out to replace it the cross bar in the drain disintegrated, which might be expected due to wear, but he didn't know how or have the tools to then remove the drain cover. He said they could get the tool and someone else would come out to complete the work. We had pre-purchased fixtures online to use for replacement. A week later another technician came out and noted that he had 20 years experience and was not sure why they sent out the original tech because he was so new. That was frustrating to hear, but we figured that now we could get the work competed and the first tech had done a good job with what was completed. This second tech took a look at what we purchased and what we needed done and said this would be a 2-3 day job where they would have to remove the marble walls to get behind the tub. He was not prepared for this job today and would have to get back to me. I tried to explain that we just wanted the fixtures replaced but maybe since he saw what we bought (which was incorrect) he thought we wanted the entire guts of the plumbing replaced. He didn't talk through it enough to understand it was just the cosmetic fixtures we wanted. Next, we contacted the manager -- He said he would come out and do the work himself. He came out, assessed the situation, and said yes there must have been miscommunication because you would not have to take the walls off and he could do just the cosmetic fixtures. He thought it would cost $200-$300 and would get a quote and call us. He called a few days later to say it would be $750 and he knew that was more than quoted but what we want would cost that much. By now we are very frustrated by the whole situation and told him that we can't afford that and what options could he provide. I would have thought they would have provided other options when they knew the cost was more than expected. He did call back and emailed us a quote that was $450. We never called back and they never called us. We are going with a different plumber. I thought of calling and giving them one more chance, but honestly they should have made the effort to contact us after what transpired and they haven't called since.

The service call itself went smoothly--from the phone call the day before reminding me of the appointment and the call again in the morning to let me know that the plumber would arrive within 30 minutes to the completion of the work. (This was well within the two-hour window I'd been given.) In every respect the employee completing the work was professional, friendly, and efficient. I did have some difficulty, however, in scheduling the appointment. Perhaps this was because I responded to an online offer from Angie's List and my order did not make its way to EcoPlumbers in a timely manner, but their response was delayed by a few days. In short, I wouldn't describe the initial response time or appointment scheduling as satisfactory. Luckily, I wasn't in immediate need of a new toilet.

Called in a panic on Saturday as our water heater was leaking all over the basement. Someone from the company responded within 15 minutes of our call and sent Adam out within 2 hours. Adam found the replacement water heater for us and brought it with him when he came. He worked quickly and cleanly for about 1.5 hours and removed the old leaky one with a new water heater. I was very pleased! We did not have to do anything but pay the bill which was competitively priced for the large unit we needed. Overall I was very happy with the service and product from them and I would use them again without hesitation!

The Eco Plumbers were wonderful in replacing our sump pump. They came out in the early evening to accommodate our work schedule, and gave an advance call with a specific time. The sump pump was replaced quickly and professionally, and a nice surprise was a discount for being an Angie's List member! We will definitely use The Eco Plumbers again.

I called Ecoplumbers based on their positive reviews on Angie's List. It was early in the morning, and I reached their answering service. My call was returned promptly. A time was scheduled. I asked for an estimate on the phone, and was given a ballpark price. I really appreciated knowing what to expect after having a bad experience with another provider about 9 months ago. The provider, Chris, arrived on time and on schedule. Chris was friendly, and courteous. He took a few minutes to assess the situation, and provided an estimate. He applied the Angie's List discount, and the current web special to my estimate. After a few minutes of snaking the drain, the clog was gone. He spent a few minute running more water down the drain to make sure the clog was clear, and then cleaned up. I was billed exactly as estimated. I would definitely use them again. In fact, I will take advantage of their Angie's List special to replace my 17 year old garbage disposal.

Everything went well and as expected. The things I like about this company is their response time and their professionalism. They send emails out giving updates on the process. I would use them again and would recommend them to friends, family and neighbors.

The plumbers were on time, courteous, and professional. There was an additional minor charge, which was outlined in the agreement beforehand. There were no surprises.

I purchased the 'big deal' for main drain cleaning with camera inspection to use as a maintenance procedure. Then... before I called to use the service my main drain backED up and ... YUK ! I called to have the service done, I was given a time estimate THAT SAME DAY, the technician (Chris Stinson) called, shows up as promised. It was a dirty tough job, about 2 hours but Chris kept at it until the drain was clear all with good attitude. Give that man a raise !

Replaced my hot water heater efficiently.

On March 8, 2013, I noticed a puddle of water at the base of my water heater. I checked around for prices of new water heaters. Ecoplumbers came out on March 12 and confirmed that I needed a new water heater and gave me an estimate that was in line with the other prices I had seen for water heaters, so I scheduled with them . They installed a new one on Friday, March 15, just in the nick of time as at 2:30 a.m. Friday morning, I found the pressure valve was straight up and leaking water! I turned off water to the water heater until Ecoplumbers came out to take care of everything later that day.

Pipe was replaced fine. Repairman then insisted I watch a video done by a local tv station on plumbers who cheated customers. The video involved a leaky water heater. After the repairman left my water heater was strangely leaking. I couldn't shake the feeling that he had tampered with it. This is why I haven't left a review - I don't want to falsely accuse him but it just seemed too coincidental and creepy.

I had a new toilet where the handle was sticking every now and then. I just wanted him to look at the handle to see why it was sticking. He did not even really look at the toilet. He did not even remove the top to look inside. He recommended we remove the whole toilet and take it back to Lowe’s. I decided that was not an option and I got a refund on the big deal.

All went fine. I checked online about the type of toilet being installed. I thought they would be installing one of the more advanced models, but those are only installed at an extra cost. I wish their ad had included the exact model they were installing.

They have always been very professional when I have used them. They call and e-mail that they are on their way. They explain what they are doing and clean up after each job.

I had purchased a big deal, and they did not charge more. They were not able to do, as much as they had hoped to do, because of the age and the configuration of the plumbing. The plumbing was bent in such a way, that they could not get the camera to go through the bend. It was something that both him and I did not expect but I understood it.

About five years ago when I had gutter toppers installed, that installer tested my drain lines and found that very little water came through them at the street. Since I didn't want to deal with what I thought would be a major repair at that time, I rerouted my downspouts on all four corners of my house above ground away from the foundation with downspout straight pieces and elbows. Water leaking into my basement has gradually worsened requiring the drain line issue to be addressed. About a week ago, I used an Angie's List Big Deal to have Eco Plumbers come out and inspect and clean my drain lines. They cleaned them as well as they could and did a camera inspection. The left drain appeared to be broken next to a large tree and clogged by tree roots. They said they could repair it by replacing the 10 ft next to the tree. The right drain appeared to be broken and cupped inside itself between the sidewalk and the curb. They said that one could be repaired by replacing just the 3 ft between the curb and sidewalk. The estimate was for $990 but I was told that it could go higher if they ran into unforeseen additional damage that required repair. I asked if they could reconnect the downspouts and they said they could but suggested I get the materials required and have them ready. They were supposed to arrive between 12pm and 3 pm on the day of the repair. At 2:50pm Chris called to say they were on a job that was taking longer than expected and would come as soon as they were finished which I appreciated. He called back at 3:50pm to say they were on their way and would arrive in 20-30 minutes which they did. They told me a third worker would come when he was free to help them on my job since they got a late start. They laid out a tarp on which to put the sod they dug up and began digging next to the tree. Then they went down to the curb and dug a little. They called me over to say that they had run into a problem because the pvc drain pipe was offset and the pipe wasn't in the spot next to the tree where they were digging. They showed me that the pipe from the curb cutout ran straight for a bit and then turned at a 45 degree angle before going under the sidewalk. That wasn't apparent without digging. Chris brought out his machines for cleaning out the pipe and his camera and worked a bit more while I went to the store to get one more item that would be needed on the downspout reconnect. When I got back they told me they were able to get a clog of solid mud out and had the drain cleared without having to replace any of the pipe. The offset in the pipe had apparently created a misleading image. They moved on to the second drain and worked on it for a while. They then said they were able to clear it and get water running through without replacing the 3 ft by the curb. This reduced the price from $990 to $717 (both prices included an Angie's List discount). While Chris worked on the lines his assistant worked on reconnecting my downspouts. He had to add a piece of pipe to three of the corners because parts had cracked off the top of the vertical pipes going underground and they were now submerged below ground level. He cut pieces of pipe to extend them, used the connectors I provided to add the extensions, and used the rectangle to round gutter connectors I provided. One downspout had been cut in the middle during my rerouting so he had to add a new downspout piece to that. He also pointed out to me that he had used PVC cement on the pipe extension on one downspout but couldn't do that on the other three because the ends of those pipes were underground packed with dirt around them. At the end they hosed the dirt off the sidewalk and cleaned the dirt off the grass and replaced the sod that had been dug up. Water was running freely from both drains for the first time in many years. They had made major progress before the third worker finished his prior job and so told him they didn't need his help. My only suggestion is that the dirt could have been cleaned off the downspouts and aluminum siding that was left when reconnecting the downspouts. (It was dirty because the downspout reconnect areas were wet from running the hose down the pipes to test them and it was necessary to be handling the muddy pipes). That wasn't a big deal and was a secondary part of the job. I was pleased that the pipes turned out not to be damaged. I plan to use Eco Plumbers to do another plumbing job in the future.

This was my second use of Eco Plumbers, which says something all by itself. I've tried multiple plumbing outfits over the years and none of them ever earned my confidence for follow-up business until now. The experience with Eco Plumbers is positive right from the moment they pick up the phone. The lady (I think it's always been the same one, at least for me) who answers the phone and schedules the appointments is always so pleasant, professional, and efficient getting things arranged. I also appreciate their automated emails which provide appointment confirmation, reminders, and changes; summaries of work; and a digital copy of your receipt after the work is done. Their technician, G____, was very professional and friendly. After arriving, he researched the "lay of the land" with each of our three different problems in detail before diving into the work. Then he executed them quickly and with very high quality in the order of priority I requested. The technician was a little late to the appointment because the previous appointment had run long, but I did receive a phone call before our service window was up to inform me of the situation. The communication, via phone and email, from the office and from the technicians in the field, has been very solid all around. So far I have a 2-for-2 experience with Eco Plumbers and will definitely call them the next time we have a problem or a project.

They did a good job explaining everything that needs to be done, the only thing I wished they would of done is have left a more itemized receipt of what I need to do.

First, I may be way off on the approximate cost of service. I can't put my hands on the receipt right now, but we do know it was less than we anticipated. This was a great experience. The staff member that answered the phone was very helpful. The technician was prompt and did an excellent job. He had to deviate a bit from the original plan, but called us in and explained the whys and wherefores. That did change the price a bit, but reasonably so. He was careful about not making a mess and cleaned up after himself. Everything about our dealings with this company gave us a feeling of "reputable company." We would definitely use this provider again.

Discovered a slow leak in 20 year old gas hot water heater. The Eco Plumbers were contacted after another Angie's List provider could not provide service due to workload at the time. The Eco Plumbers sent Aaron G. to the residence on Thursday to check out the situation and to acquire all necessary information for the replacement of a new gas hot water tank. Aaron was able to arrange for installation of the tank in a timely manner and work was performed on Saturday. With a slow leak, we did not want to take any chances of the situation turning into a big deal since the tank was 20 years old. Gary was the Technician that provided service for the installation work. Gary contacted us 30 minutes prior to his arrival to let us know he was in route to the residence. Gary was knowledgeable of the work being performed and very professional in his activities during setup, install and minor clean up when work was completed. Would recommend The Eco Plumbers to friends and would use again in the future.
