We have a sink in the upstairs bathroom that has always drained slowly. It got suddenly worse on a Saturday morning. I tried for several hours to clear it my self without success. I called several providers from the list of providers on Angie's List for my area and The Eco Plumbers were the only ones that answered the phone on a Saturday morning. However, they made it clear that it would be expensive to send a plumber on the weekend so I made an appointment to have them come to the house at the beginning of the work week when I could take a day off. The service provider arrived on time and was very polite and professional. He first inspected the sink and gave me a quote of over $200 to clear the sink. He said that if I had other work for him to do that each item would not be as expensive but to do only one thing cost a lot because of the service call charge. Since I had been without a bathroom sink for four days by then I was getting anxious to have it fixed and agreed to have him do the work. He worked for about an hour and successfully got the sink clear. He cleaned up the area and left it in good shape. The work was done to my satisfaction. I just think the price was a little high and I wish I would have been able to get a rough estimate over the phone before waiting four days.I might have tried harder to clear the drain myself or called a few more providers to get price quotes.
Description of Work: Cleared a bathroom sink drain.

Spoke to a very courteous and professional person who took my service request call, and was told that a serviceman would arrive in about 30 minutes. The serviceman arrived in less than 30 minutes to assess the problems. The larger sump pump I requested was not on the serviceman's truck but he said he would return the following day, or at any other time convenient for me, to do the work. I requested that the work be done two days later. A different serviceman arrived promptly at the scheduled time, and explained why he came instead of the serviceman I saw two days earlier. Both servicemen were very courteous, friendly, and professional, I enjoyed talking to them. The new sump pump was installed quickly and the toilet was also quickly repaired. The servicemen put on clean footwear when they entered our house. We did not need to clean up any areas where they had been in our home. It is now two weeks later and I have had no problems with either the toilet or the new sump pump..
Description of Work: Replaced sump pump. Repaired toilet leak by replacing the fill valve, flush valve, tank to toilet bowl gasket kit, flapper and supply line to the toilet.

Eco Plumbers is one of the best and friendliest companies we dealt with. Customer satisfaction is very important to them. The plumbers uphold the company's high standards by always showing up on time, maintaining courteousness at the job, and answering all our questions with honesty. The price was great. We got an estimate for the same repairs from ARS Rooter; their price to fix the problems was almost $900. Eco Plumbers is the company we will be using from now on for all our plumbing needs.

Gary arrived and listened to all of the plumbing issues we were having. He walked through each room with me and addressed the problems and offered solutions. In addition, he went to the basement to inspect our sump pump and water heater, which were fine, but it was nice to know that they were working properly from a pro's point of view. He showed me the estimate to fix all of the issues and once I gave my approval, he got to work immediately. He performed all of the work in a professional manner and was very respectful to me and to the house. I would definitely recommend him and The Eco-Plumbers to anyone having plumbing issues.
Description of Work: Gary repaired a running and leaking toilet, installed arrestors on the hot and cold water connections for a new efficiency washer, and installed 4 new bathroom sink faucets.

I bought the "big deal" for the four point toilet tune up. My toilet wasn't flushing at all. Gary arrived on time. He was very professional, and kind. He was able to replace all the parts that were broke and get in and out of my house in about 30 minutes. Great experience, will def. use them again.

The technician explained all the work done and the condition of the line which, after his work was very clean. He recommended a timeline for preventative maintenance. The company I had used previously was much more expensive and recommended a 6 month preventative service which would be much more costly. The technician was courteous and professional.

They were prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. During the period that the drain was being repaired, we had severe cold weather and many people had frozen pipes. They were not able to complete our work as soon as we would have liked because they were dealing with getting people's frozen pipes back in service. To compensate us for the time lost, they deducted from our bill.
Description of Work: Initially, they used the camera to view the floor drain and work to unclog it. Unfortunately they found a break in the drain with the camera. They then broke up the floor in the basement, replaced the broken sewer line and replaced it. Then came back and repaired the concrete and replaced the floor drain.

My call to the provider was answered quickly and an appointment scheduled the same day. Near the early part of the arrival window I received a call to let me know my plumber was on the way. This was accompanied by an email from the office--so that I knew it was the company employee. When the gentleman arrived, he took care to cover his shoes before entering the house. After he inspected my burned out sump pump, he replaced it, tested it, and resealed the cover, removing the old pump after requesting permission to do so. He then inquired whether there was anything else he could do to help me. I asked if he could check the water line to my refrigerator. He gave me an estimate for the costs before he began and then did a great job with that as well. I thought the pricing was a tad on the high side--but not for the level of service provided. I will definitely call eco plumbers again!

The plumber arrived 45 minutes early, which is why I put "B" for "Punctuality". While it was OK in my case, providers should show up in the time frame they give; not before or after. While the work was done well in that the pipes stopped leaking and the new shut-off valve works correctly, the price was not at all worth it. Had I known there were new plumbing technologies that didn't require soldering, I could have easily done it myself. He literally just put two caps on the end of pipes (i.e. he simply pushed a piece of metal and plastic on the end) that were already exposed, cut, sanded, and ready to be capped. Replacing the cold water shut-off valve was a little more complicated, but again, he didn't have to do any soldering, but used parts that snap in place. The plumber was at my house for about 45 minutes and charged almost $300 -- and that was after the 15% discount for being an Angie's List member. While I can't say for sure, I doubt the parts he used will last very long. Unlike conventional soldered plumbing, these parts are partly made of plastic. The Eco Plumbers only offer a one year warranty, but I imagine these parts will need replaced in a decade or two. I don't really see what's "eco" about the company -- the name seems like greenwashing to me. The plumber was friendly and talkative and explained what he was doing so that I could do it myself in the future, which was nice. I did help him though.

Basically it was for dropping a tablet to see if it was leaking or not. I ended up paying extra 35 to replace intake apparatus. Adding that to 59 dollars,it does not seem a good deal at all. He tried to sell me using his snake to clear possible clog for 150 more dollars. I balked, and the price dropped to 60 dollars. I balked again, the price dropped to 25 dollars. I said OK. He used his snake for 2 or 3 runs in a few minutes. The toilet drained as usual. He admitted there was nothing there to unclog. Very suspicious practice. 25 dollars went down the drain, and it could be 150 dollars. This kind of service is just not worth it, compared to other service they provide like replacing garbage disposal.

They were able to come over Thanksgiving weekend, in the middle of the OSU-Michigan game. The sewer line had backed up, flooding the basement where we had relatives sleeping for the week. My husband was disgruntled that the price charged did not match what was quoted over the phone (I don't recall how much more it came to), & that he had to scrounge up materials to protect the walls. I, frankly, was grateful that we located someone at all on a difficult date. Plumbing continues to work fine!

First the large: my garbage disposal wasn't working in spite of my using the crank tool, so I thought if the thing was kaput I might take advantage of an Angie's list replacement/ installation offer I was emailed. Once there, the technician used the crank, and hit the reset button (which I hadn't known to do) and got it working again. I admit, it was noisy, but it's always been noisy since it was put in 6 years ago. He immediately said it needed to be replaced, but that the offer I was interested in was for a lesser horsepower model than I'd need so the price tag jumped, oh I don't remember, about $75-$100? He also said I only had one water line below my sink and that I should have 2. Of course, he noted, he could put the second in for me. At this point, I asked: a) if the disposal was working, why did it need to be replaced. 'It's mechanical', he said. (If I'm going to shuck out extra money, I want a better response than that so I asked, specifically, what the mechanical problem was. Apparently, this exasperated him so he flung his hands in the air and just said, more loudly, 'mechanical!'. I got the distinct impression that a female questioning his judgment annoyed him.) Question b: why do I need a second water line? answer: (none). OK, so let's move on. The kitchen faucet also had a leak in the stem, which I suspected was just a worn washer, but I have terrible visions of trying to fix such things myself and creating an uncontrollable geyser, so I figure why not let the pros do it. Nope. 'This whole faucet must be replaced', I am told. As I walked him to the next area of the house I was offended by the tone he took when asking if I was the home owner. I am, solely, but I just confirmed it and let it pass. So the next issue was an intermittently running, little-used toilet and the fact that a few days prior I'd noticed the tiniest water leak onto the floor when I was scrubbing it and flushed the cleaning solution. I know that part of the issue has to be a worn flapper, and I presume the leak is another worn washer. I admit, I don't know what replacing such a washer would entail -- or even that this truly is the cause, but I know flapper replacement is a breeze, and if he's doing one thing, he might as well do the other. His diagnosis: it all (i.e. the WHOLE toilet) has to be replaced. OK, next. (do you feel a trend forming?) Upstairs to the small sink in the master bath. The "pull" mechanism that turns the water flow on seems to be aged/gummed up. I'm hoping the ornamental plastic casing can be taken off, cleaned up & lubricated and then put back together, maybe not as good as new, but certainly w/improved functionality for a few more years. Diagnosis: whole faucet needs to be replaced. Before Eco-Plumbers came, I was expecting the "offer" cost of ~$169 for a garbage disposal/installation + MAYBE an additional $250 to do the extra work. But no. His final, actual out the door quote: ~$1000. Alright, since this ill-fated visit I've had another journeyman plumber (Strouse Plumbing) out who acknowledges that a lot of plumbing fixtures these days are made like junk. However, he does say that most (even semi-)reputable companies (Moen, Delta, Kohler) will send you replacement parts --for free-- if you know what to ask for. It's up to you if you want to undertake the hassle of putting them in yourself (he also pointed out that there's a plethora of YouTube vids to offer guidance), but for the cost to have a professional plumber put in a component that will likely go bad in 2-3 more years, in most cases you could instead have him install a whole new fixture (which might last 4-5 years instead) for the same price. I appreciated this explanation/suggestion, as well as the following info he provided, free of charge: I could do the same with my "sticky" master bath faucet (or, he suggested a low-cost full replacement, available at Home Depot for ~$24 w/ copper--instead of junk plastic--components); that the leaky toilet *might* be caused by not fully turning on or off the water line and showing me that the now warped flapper was actually an excellent brand, and that he'd suggest replacing it exactly, as that's what he usually installed; a detailed explanation of the anatomy of a garbage disposal, along with a recommendation of a reliable, low-cost brand AND confirmation that the all stainless steel chamber model I had been researching on my own and was considering might be overkill for my needs, but was still a solid choice w/quality components and a 7-yr warranty; and an admission that he had absolutely no idea what the Eco Plumber guy was talking about when he said I needed 2 lines. Rather, it might well be a ploy to get a near plumbing-illiterate customer to pay for something unnecessary. Moreover, Strouse's labor structure is pretty darn simple, you go out and buy what you want (preliminary research and questions for the plumber encouraged) and he installs just about anything for $100 an item. So that's my take-away from my experience with, at least this particular rep, from Eco-Plumbers. I didn't care for his dismissive, misogynistic attitude and I didn't, and still don't, trust him. ~$1000 v. ~$400-500 parts and labor for only what's really necessary? Not much belabored pondering to do here.
Description of Work: Despite the appealing company name (who doesn't want their home to be eco-friendly?) and despite a special offer on Angie's list, I didn't come away from this experience at all pleased. I had what I considered one large job and a few small ones to be quoted.

I purchased the Angie's List deal for garbage disposal replacement. The company contacted me the next day with information to set up my appointment. I called that day and they scheduled me for the earliest date that I was available. Chris arrived on the early side of the appointment window (with the promised 30-min courtesy call) and completed the work in about an hour. The new disposal is great! We were satisfied with every aspect of the service, and would definitely use Eco Plumbers again.

That turned out fine. He was very nice and very professional. I would use him again. It was only $100 because of the things that he did to the washer. The value of the work was fine. I got a good value. I got a tank that wasn't large enough for my jacuzzi tub. I see that they probably got a 70-gallon and I only had a 60-gallon. He was very professional. He worked quickly. He was able to get the part that day. He put it in within about two hours.
