Everything turned out really well. He is professional and the workers were definitely trustworthy. They completed the work as promised. He came back to check on the fireplace to make sure it turned out ok and it was good suggestion so applied a second coat.

Wonderfully! They are a 2 man painting machine. From quote to painting took longer than I wanted, but I understood that they are really busy during this time of the year. They were actually able to complete the work earlier than planned and it took less time than quoted. Added bonus, they completed the cosmetic items with no additional cost. We will be using them again!
Description of Work: DC Painting painted our foyer, one bedroom, hallways - up and downstairs, and formal living rooms. The one bedroom was previously painted and once they had finished there were no longer any hints of the blue. In addition, they painted return vents, front door, and repaired a small hole in the formal living room.

For one of the ceiling fans he took down an old fixture and went out of his way to get a fixture to cover it so I wouldn't have to paint it. We have used him for years.
Description of Work: He installed two ceiling fans, replaced the banister on the stairs, re-caulked the shower, he put a towel bar back up in the bathroom.

Mike provided detailed estimates and timeliness for us. His estimates were right on and if there was any type of change, he let us know immediately. He is always available for questions and returns our calls promptly, on the odd occasion he doesn't pick up his phone immediately. He provided extremely thorough explanations for all of his work. If he had any questions regarding our preferences, he would ask rather than assume the way we wanted anything done. Mike has always been very professional and courteous. If we needed to ask him further questions after a project was done, he was happy to answer them for us. We have had a great experience with DC Painting and I recommend him to all of my neighbors and friends.
Description of Work: Mike has done many projects for us over the past 2 years including interior and exterior painting, drywall work, installed recessed lighting, installed lighting sconces and updated electric sockets.

We spoke to Mike at the beginning of November where he told us he had a few other jobs, but would begin our phase two work on 11/27, Monday. We phoned Mike a week and a half prior to his start as we had instructions for him and a set of keys to provide. Mike has never returned any of our phone calls to this day. He abandoned the job at an extremely critical time in our home renovation without any explanation or courtesy of informing us he no longer wanted the job or to renegotiate for more money. I can't tell you how upset we are with him. We had to start over, quickly getting quotes to adhere to our time line. The worst part is that we would prefer to have him come back and finish the job; we are speechless.
Description of Work: The work agreed to was to patch any uneven/rough surfaces prior to priming seven rooms and three bathrooms and a hallway staircase. Due to the size of the job, we agreed on two phases: one to prime and the following at a later date to complete the painting in our home. We believe Mike over scheduled himself during this initial phase, therefore, only one room's wood work was sanded/primed. He worked on our home when he had the time, which turned out to be partial weekends. Most of the seven rooms had primer on the walls, but some were more complete than others. Mike was very clean and neat and we were very happy with his work however, he abandoned our job without any notice, and did not have the courtesy to return our phone calls, and no further information. We wasted an entire month waiting for his arrival as we had agreed to; only to be stuck without a painter at a critical time.

MEMBER HAD CONTINUOUSLY CHANGED WHAT HE WANTED DONE, ADDING WORK THAT HE THOUGHT HE COULD DO AND COULD NOT. HE EXPECTED TO SAND ALL HIS FLOORING WHILE I WAS THERE WORKING AFTER BEING TOLD THAT THE HOUSE WAS READY TO PAINT. WITH ALL THE DELAYS AND CHANGES ON THE FIRST PHASE, IT WAS VERY HARD TO SCHEDULE ANYTHING, ESPECIALLY MY OTHER JOBS. WE TRIED TO BE AS PATIENT AS WE COULD AND WORK WITH HIM. WE WERE PAINTING IN THE HOUSE WITH NO HEAT WHEN IT WAS BELOW FREEZING OUTSIDE AND WHEN I LAST TALKED TO HIM IN LATE NOVEMBER, THERE WAS STILL NO HEAT IN THE HOUSE AND NO CLEAR ANSWER TO WHEN IT WOULD BE FIXED. THE HOUSE IS ABOUT 100 YEARS OLD AND HE AND HIS WIFE WERE DOING MOST OF THE WORK AND QUITE FRANKLY THEY ARE LOST AT WHAT THEY ARE DOING. IT NO LONGER WAS FAIR TO ME AND MY WORKERS TO CONTINUE TO WORK THIS JOB. WE BID THE JOB AT A VERY LOW RATE WHEN WE DID THE ORIGINAL ESTIMATE, WORKED WEEKENDS AND EVENINGS TO TRY AND WORK WITHOUT PEOPLE IN ARE WAY. WERE TOLD THAT THERE WOULD NOT BE ANYONE THERE. WE WOULD ARRIVE TO WORK AND FLOORS ARE BEING SANDED, AN ELECTRICIAN AND TILE INSTALLS GOING ON AND LOTS OF DEBRIS AND FURNITURE TO MOVE EVERY TIME WE WENT INTO A ROOM TO WORK. HE EXPLAINED TO ME THAT HE WAS VERY LOW ON CASH AND WAS ALSO SEVERAL DAYS LATE ANYTIME A PAYMENT WAS DUE. WHEN YOUR WORKING CHEAP AND YOUR HAVING A PROBLEM GETTING PAID, ITS TOUGH TO CONTINUE. THERE IS A BALANCE FOR WORK DONE AND AT THIS POINT I HAVE TO CUT MY LOSSES AND MOVE ON.

I think they were terrific, they did the whole job in 6 days. They did everything from moving the furniture to removing items hanging on the walls. They also cleaned up nicely at the end of each day and the person you talk to is the person that does the work with his assistant.

Mike was on time for all appointments and painted additional areas as requested. He was very polite and professional. His price was very close to my other lowest estimates. He tapes and caulks around all molding, which gives an exceptionally clean line when the tape is removed. The fact that he starts his job about mid-morning so that he can spend time with his kids speaks to his character and gives the customer's household time to get going.
Description of Work: Repaired and painted walls and ceiling of large great room, foyer, 2 bathrooms, and kitchen ceiling. Also, repaired wood molding on a casement window.
