I called to inquire about an appraisal, and was promised the appraiser would call the next day to schedule an appointment. As promised, he called and was able to come out and perform the work within a week. He showed up on time, was dressed professionally, asked what we felt were appropriate questions, and then walked the house and property and made notes. I believe we received the appraisal by email the next day. He spent closed to an hour at the property. I hoped that the bill would be $300...it was $350, but well within the range of what I expected.

Bill Uttley came to my property and walked through it in its entirety--it's a difficult property to appraise--there are two houses on one plot, one is in the middle of construction, both houses are over 150 years old, the second house is a double and falling apart. Bill was terrific. He listened to everything we could tell him about the property, asked all the right questions, took photos, took measurements, and was efficient and thorough. We had many problems getting appraisers to even come out and appraise the property. Two appraisers come out and then disappeared! It's a most difficult property to value. Bill did a great job, caught everything that mattered, and was super fast in getting the results to me. I was relieved to get someone with so much expertise willing to come out. In addition to appraising a difficult property, we asked for a value on a date two years past and we got it no problem.

I thought he went through the house too quickly. He might of missed some things.

I was pleased; she went about her business. She had others to do so I tried to not hold her up. She took pictures of things and then she was off. I didn't find anything wrong with her. I guess it's the average price; I don't usually have this done. She was very professional and she compared it with pictures of other places. She was thorough and punctual.
