I purchased all the material and installing all the drywall on the walls since he didn't have time to do the whole job. Bill said he would deduct that off the contract price of $2300. All of the Drywall in the basement had been installed and I had set an appointment with Bill to come and do the mudding for the basement drywall on Mach 27 & 28. I also had given a key to the house when we first started. Bill informed me on March 24th he will not come and finish the job. A down payment was given to him of $1054. He told me he would send me the difference of the down payment and the work he did during that phone call conversation. I have sent him a letter, email, txt message and left a voice mail to try to get this resolved and get my house key back. He will not respond to any of these.
Description of Work: The contract was to finish the dry wall in the basement recreation room. All he has done was install the drywall on the ceiling. I

After talking to several other contractors, we hired Bill to remodel our kitchen. He came recommended to us from a friend whose development company had used him before. His estimate was the only one that included everything fully broken down in worst-case scenario with all the upgrades we were thinking of (granite, lighting, etc.). Yes, the estimate was higher than others, but there were no surprises later. We were thankful for that. Our kitchen was a rotting, close to non-functional 1980s DIY kitchen whose cabinets have been seen on those "Worst Kitchens in America" shows. Leaks had ruined the cabinets and floor so we had to totally gut the place...much beyond our capabilities. Bill did everything well with great attention to detail. (Including painting our vent covers to match the black and white checker floor! Something we never thought of.) He was punctual and easy to contact and kept us in the loop when subcontractors (plumber and electricians) were involved. He was also patient when we had trouble with our loan officers and we were able to include everything on his original estimate within budget. The whole project took about 8 weeks (he's a crew of 1, so we were aware of this timeframe when we started). The only real mishap we had was with some molding on the cabinets that came in wrong, but that was the cabinet company's mistake. There weren't any horror-story worthy moments at all. Luckily, it was an older house so he put up a temporary door to keep it sealed off from the rest of the house thus keeping the mess and stress to a minimum and keeping our cats safe. We felt comfortable giving Bill a key and letting him work when we weren't there if he needed to. He also did some smaller extra fixes around the house. We ended up with a gorgeous kitchen with beautiful white cabinets, black granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, black and white porcelain tile, new walls, under cabinet lighting/can lights/dining room light/etc., and more. We love it and it's pretty much our ideal kitchen.
Description of Work: Full kitchen remodel, down to the studs and sub-floor, rearranging plumbing and electrical, plus adding everything back in. With full permits, etc.

We first hired Bill to build a locker style cabinet in our mudroom and an entertainment center in our family room next to our fireplace. I had a bunch of pictures of cabinets that I had found in magazines. Bill was able to take those pictures and my ideas and create exactly what I wanted. A few months later we decided that we would like an entire wall of built-in cabinets along the back wall of our family room. The space was basically dead & unused space. We again called Bill and showed him a picture that I found that was similar to what I envisioned for that space. He ended up creating an absolutely beautiful wall of cabinetry, shelving, drawers and built-in desk areas for our children to do their homework. We get many compliments on these cabinets. Bill's craftmanship is beautiful and he is just wonderful to work with. We will definitely hire him again should we need any more woodworking done.
Description of Work: We initially asked Bill to build locker style cabintes & and an entertainment center. A few months later we asked him to build us a wall of cabinets.

Bill took a couple of pictures we cut out of magazines and came up with a design. We made a few modifcations and he then manufactured the enclosures on site. He made the cabinet faces and drawers off site which was great. Bill does not stain/paint the cabinets but can recommend other vendors to do so.
Description of Work: Built a 15 foot floor to ceiling built in desks/cabinet. Included 2 "armoirs" on either end, and desks in between. Above the desks are shelves that go to the ceiling. Detials include crown molding and file cabinets built in to 2 of the cabinets.
