The Basement Guys

The work was done in 4 days and at basement looks great we are happy to have a dry basement & a lifetime warranty.

Everything was explained and they arrived on time and got right to work. The floor was covered with drop cloths going to the basement. Dehumidifier was installed and explained and liner was put in and done very well.

Justin was on time and performed job well and always informed us the update.

Everything went great. Install was one & two days, professional and courteous throughout the whole job. Answered all questions in detail and we are very satisfied with the work they did. Will definitely call the basement guys for our future needs.

I thought that it was a malfunction in the equipment. It turns out that Jefferson Township wasn't keeping its drainage system cleaned out, and with all the rain that we've had recently, the township drainage system became clogged. The service person checked the sump pump and determined that it was working, so he uncapped the external pipe and placed a piece of PVC pipe over the opening to allow the water to drain. It drained in a relatively short time. I said some rather nasty things in my last review of them. I apologize. I was angry, but the problems were not due to their equipment or errors.

The two men who actually did the work were awesome. We had to leave unexpectly and we leftonea them to finish the job and lock up the house. When we returned the men were gone and the job was finished. The men had cleaned up after themselves, not even leaving a stone on the floor. When I went to pay the bill there was a problem with a discount but it was quickly and satisfactorily taken care of. I would definitely use the basement guys again.

They came out to provide an estimate and told me the work wasn't necessary. Very honest company. I will be calling again when something else arises.

These guys rock! They removed part of my garage floor and dug large holes (by hand) to get under the footer to lift the foundation block between my garage and famiiy room. They were punctual, friendly, hard working and really cared that they did a good job. They cleaned up every night and made sure my house and garage were secured one night when I could not be there when they left. Excellent service and quality. It was fun watching a large crack in my family room wall close up before my eyes as they hydraulically lifted the footer and foundation wall. Don't be fooled by other companies that have videos and thick booklets to do their selling for them.

Tim explicitly said the he would not try to pressure me on a sale as he said there was nothing wrong with my basement. He was knowledgeable about the recently installed iBeams and water tiling. He pointed out spots to monitor and provided instructions on how to monitor. While I didn't end up using him for service because I ended up needing a contractor instead, I was thankful for his expert opinion and would not hesitate to contact him for future business. I tried offering him some compensation for his time, but he was humble and would not take it. These are the types of people that you want to work with. A+

From Charlie Hampton who gave me the estimate to the two young men who did the work I cannot possibly give the praise they deserve. It's been a few months and my house is much warmer, it is dry, bright and clean in the crawkspace, and my heating bills have significantly decreased (between 5-10% as a modest estimate). No more fear of frozen pipes and if Ishould have to go into the crawlspace again, it will be MUCH easier and FAR more pleasant. As for price? They were less than 60% of their nearest competitor. And I chose them all from Angie's List. All A rated with many customer reviews. Thanks, Angie, for the great folks and a great value. On time, worked hard until job was finished.

The Basement Guys were very prompt in coming out to do an assessment of the problem and then provided a detailed quote. They patiently and thoroughly explained the specifics of their quote and then let us take the time to make a decision - without undue pressure. The crew that did the work was prompt, professional and friendly. They worked many hours during Christmas week, with minimal disruption to our household activities. They took care to keep rugs, wood floors and furnishings free from dust, despite the extensive work that needed to be done. They finished on time and walked us through everything that was done. I would hire The Basement Guys again.

We signed a contract with The Basement Guys because their price seemed competitive and timing met our needs. Unfortunately for us however, TBG's grossly underestimated project timing by ~6 weeks, pulled the crew off multiple times without explanation or prior notification, refused to give us the 10% Angie's List discount they advertise (claimed they gave us all possible discounts). We asked to see documentation of discounts but they refused to provide any to substantiate their claim. In fact, the way TBG's price a job makes it nearly impossible to compare with other companies. Throughout the process, Luke and Tim Seacrest were great at making excuses, pushing blame everywhere else and not showing empathy or concern for customer dissatisfaction. I was seldom able to get get through to anyone by phone. On at least two occasions, Tim said he would look into my concerns and call me back the next day, but never did. To top it off, Tim had the nerve to ask for our final payment before the job was even completed. Do not use The Basement Guys unless you like to deal with the stress and frustration of a company that doesn't care about their customers, only the money they can get from them. If there is a silver lining in all of this, it is that Derrick and Tom (the sub contractors they hired for our job) did an excellent job, were very professional, and always went the extra mile for us.

Tim was our initial contact. He was very professional in all aspects of the project. We really enjoyed talking with him, learning about what needed to be done. He was very thorough, NOT high pressure, which we really appreciated. We contracted the job, set the date and cleaned out the basement. The 2 laborers showed up at the appointed day and time. They were very pleasant, neat, and clean about such a messy job. The project took 2 days. The only snag we had was when they went to hook up the sump pump. There was no electricity in the immediate area. The laborers were able to hook it up to an outlet in a closet using an extension cord. When Tim checked with us at completion time, we expressed our dissatisfaction with the electrical situation, feeling that if an outlet was needed and spending the money we had, it should have been put in and included in the price. After a couple of days, Tim got back to us, and made arrangements for an electrician to come and install the outlet. We waited to write this review to make sure that the basement stayed dry even though there is a lifetime warranty. It has and we are very pleased!

We just weren't ready money wise to move forward at that point but if something we are considering doing this winter we will talk to them. I think it was around $5000 or $6000 or maybe more. They were on time and I really the liked the guy from The Basement Guys. He was really friendly and he was a younger guy. He was as professional as another basement company but he also gave me the feeling like he's been in the position of actually doing the work so I felt comfortable with that. The guy from the other basement company hadn't or never done the work and was just a salesperson. I'm going to definitely consider calling them again to get a final quote.

I can't begin to say enough about this company. Top notch from start to finish. Very professional! Very friendly and personable!

Contacted the company. Left message. They returned my call the next morning and sent an inspector out that afternoon. He arrived on time. He didn't seem to take a sincere interest in my situation. If not for my string of questions, he would have left me with little information. He promised to email an estimate quickly, but I never received it. I prefer to have everything in writing, so this was important to me. He did provide a verbal estimate, but also implied he could get a better price if I acted quickly. This always troubles me. He also mentioned it didn't matter if I signed on the company or not, he'd get paid for coming by the house. Fine for him, but a disconcerting statement for me because it reflects an indifferent attitude. In any event, regardless of whether I think they have a good product and a plan to fix my basement issues, an experienced waterproofing installation team, and a solid warranty, bottom line, he did not follow up. So I guess they didn't need or want my business.

My basement guys were from Lima Ohio. They were excellent and totally made no mess.

All work completed in 3 days; hardworking, efficient and pleasant folks. Cleaned up after all work was completed. Problem with my electrical outlets (needed for sump system) was effectively resolved with no extra charge.
