Declined to use company based on hard sell scare tactic techniques and excessive costs based on needs.

They have a lifetime guarantee which I appreciate. They are very professional and quick, fast, and courteous! I like their work, it's a very professional job.

I don't always go with the cheapest pricing, but the work that The Basement Guys did was definitely well worth the price. They were clean and very nice people. They knew how to talk professional to their customers. Our glass block window looks great! We will definitely use them in the future!

They spoke to us for about an hour explaining that we would need to install a system that would cost about $10,000. We decided not to do this system. Another company gave me an additional solution to solve the problem that was much cheaper about $100, that's what we did and it did solve the problem.

In general, it seems as if the work they recommended was worthwhile. They dug around the inner walls of our basement from inside and set up a drainage system. Also replaced an inoperable sump pump. Our dissatisfaction was with the mess they left behind. Although they covered our items prior to the drilling, they uncovered everything before putting in the filler stone. The result was a layer of heavy dust on all of our possessions in the basement, including the carpet. They left concrete/mud stains on the carpet and the tape from their plastic coverings removed the paint from our ceilings. All of our lower molding has hardened concrete on it also. Stickum from where they taped our kitchen floor to avoid soiling is still on our floors. Overall, we hope the water problem is solved, but were disappointed in the cleaning disaster that was left behind.

The salesman came, looked at the problem, and told us what needed to be done. The job was scheduled, the tech showed up on time, and did the job. We are happy with the results. We would hire this company again.

Overall, I was pleased with the experience. However, I was surprised to find out that they don't do any work less than $2,000. I guess they leave the smaller jobs to the smaller companies.

We were having water coming into the basement through the cement blocks.

Victor from The Basement Guys gave us an estimate to fix it- $13,000! He told us the entire perimeter of the basement needed to be excavated and a special drainage system needed installed. This was the third quote of three, so we had other estimates to compare from other companies. Neither suggested such radical measures. Victor also talked our ears off, trying to get us to buy now. He used old and disreputable sales tactics. In the weeks that followed, he called incessantly, trying to see if we had made a decision until we finally said we had gone with another vendor.

They were late on every appointment, except the sales presentation. The salesman did not tell us that installation would be in 30 days until after he had full payment. They collected a full payment from my account knowing it would be 30 days before work began. The Musty Basement Solution unit that was suppose to be installed was not the unit installed. When the installers arrived, they were late and did not have the correct size windows. They did not have all the parts to the Musty Basement Solution unit.

Completed work on time and on budget. Did work as neatly as possible

Rep came to our house after work hours, a great service. However, tried to sell us on a whole basement waterproofing system rather than what we asked for, drainlines to the curb. When attempting to make up an estimate, asked to use our calculator (didn't bring his own). Wasn't very awe inspiring, appeared not to care if they got the work or not. Price was $500 more than other estimates ($2,000 job).

It was pleasant meeting with the gentleman. The price was twice as much as another company. The original price was $13,205. While talking with them they came down $1,000 which I thought was odd. I had never questioned the amount. They called back and wanted to arrange another estimate.

Excellent. I would hire this company again. I even asked if they did driveway work & they do!

This company obviously does not concentrate strictly on glass blocks windows like two other companies do on Angie's List. The other companies have trained sale/s staff and they know their products and can tell you all the technical information about them. Basement Guys are twice the price and puffed the difficulty of the job and were not honest in their approach to the job.

Our basement looks 1000 percent better than before! We've had some severe rains lately and there has been absolutely no dampness. We are so confident, we are planning to install carpeting - something we never would have done before the Basement Guys! Luke, Jason, Adam and the rest of the team were fantastic. Their communication with us was top-notch. At the estimate they explained their solution to our dampness problem logically and showed photos of other jobs they had completed. We received a reminder letter and refrigerator magnet before the work began so we would be ready. The team was extremely professional, arrived when they said they would, finished on time, and treated our home with respect. This was a big investment, and we are so pleased to have had such a good experience. Thanks, Guys!

A wall in our basement had begun to buckle slightly with some dampness where the wall meets the floor. The rest of our basement was dry. The Basement Guys came promptly to give us an estimate. After looking at our situation & giving a lengthy presentation with many pictures (they were here for 3 hours), they gave us an estimate of $16,145 to waterproof our entire basement (ignoring 2 furnaces that abut one wall), a lower estimate for less work at $8,845 & then another estimate for $3,250. But they made it clear their boss would not like them doing anything less than the $16,145 & he would have to approve. We got 3 other estimates for this same job from other companies & these guys were by far the highest. A few days later we got a call from their office saying the boss had figured a way to save us some money. It felt like we were bargaining for a car. Their work may be excellent, but their proposals seem far out of line for the work we needed.

I felt that their price was reasonable, for the amount of work done. However, I did have a problem when they sanded the concrete block to install the carbon fiber reinforcement. The bag on their sander broke, and I had a thin layer of grey concrete dust coating everything in the basement. This included a TV, computers and exercise equipment. They did offer to send someone over to clean up, but we just spend a half day on Saturday cleaning everything. What happened was an accident, but they did not say anything about what happened until I called them. They also had come back the following Monday to fill the cracks in the wall. That was suppose have been done when they were there the first time.

I had two companies quote me on the work that needed to be done, and the Basement Guys were eager to work during the slow winter season - they beat the other company by $400. Jeff Cantwell came out a least 3 times to quote, measure, and re quote. He was professional each time, and I liked that they were willing to work with me. They did show up 30-minutes late on the day of the job, so I rescheduled due to my work schedule. They apologized, and rescheduled the work a few days later. Job was done in less than a day. They cleaned up well after the work was done. The crew was polite and professional. Overall, I am satisfied with the work, and would use them again for other services.

They were professional, and cleaned up their mess. They did an excellent job. There was one thing that they forgot to clean up, and they sent someone out that day after my call, it was just a small area.

THE BASEMENT GUYS INSTALLED NEW GLASS BLOCK WINDOWS IN MY HOME. I USED ANOTHER COMPANY FOR MY RENTAL PROPERTY, BUT THIS JOB WAS MUCH FASTER AND MORE PROFESSIONAL. I WOULD HIRE THEM AGAIN. THE PRICE WAS REASONABLE TOO.

CHUCK WAS RUNNING A LITTLE LATE 10-15 MINS, BUT VERY FRIENDLY AND SEEMED KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE HAD LEFT HIS TAPE MEASURE AT THE LAST JOB SO HE GAVE US AN ESTIMATE WITHOUT TAKING MEASUREMENTS. I CAN SEE WHY OTHER MEMBERS HAVEN'T APPRECIATED THEIR SALES APPROACH. LOTS OF PHOTOS AND LITERATURE TO ILLUSTRATE THEIR EXPLANATION OF WHAT THEY BELIEVE IS THE CAUSE OF YOUR BASEMENT PROBLEMS AND WHAT WILL HAPPEN IF YOU DON'T ADDRESS IT. CHUCK WAS CERTAINLY A SALESMAN. :-) HE SPENT A LOT OF TIME DIFFERENTIATING THEIR SYSTEM FROM WHAT ''OTHER COMPANIES'' DO. ALL GOOD COMPANIES I'VE FOUND OFFER THE SAME WARRANTY AS BASEMENT GUYS. QUOTE WAS FOR $9800 FOR INSTALLING DRAIN, SUMP PUMP AND 9 BEAMS ON 2 WALLS. IT'S MORE WORK THAN OTHER HIGHLY RATED COMPANIES THOUGHT WAS NEEDED PLUS ALMOST 1/3 MORE EXPENSIVE. I DON'T DOUBT, AT ALL, THE QUALITY OF THEIR WORK; BUT QUOTE WAS **VERY** HIGH AND THEIR SALES APPROACH DIDN'T JIBE WITH US. WHEN THE TIME COMES WE WILL LIKELY NOT USE THIS COMPANY.

THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME WE USED THE BASEMENT GUYS. ACTUALLY, THIS EXPERIENCE WAS EVEN BETTER THAN THE FIRST. WE HAD A WATER LEAK IN THE BASEMENT SEVERAL YEARS AGO AND THEY INSTALLED NEW DRAINS UNDER THE EXISTING FLOOR. YEARS LATER, WE EXPERIENCED A NEW LEAK IN A DIFFERENT PART OF THE BASEMENT. THEY CAME RIGHT OUT AND JUST ADDED ON TO THEIR ORIGINAL WORK. EVERYTHING TURNED OUT FINE. THEIR TWO-MAN CREW WORKED VERY, VERY HARD AND FINISHED THE ENTIRE PROJECT IN ONE DAY.

WE SCHEDULED AN APPOINTMENT FOR 6:00 PM. AT 6:45, I CALLED THE COMPANY, AND WAS TOLD TO CALL BACK IN 5 MINUTES. AT 7:00, I CALLED BACK, AND WAS TOLD SOMEONE WAS ON THE WAY, AND LATE DUE TO ANOTHER STOP IN LANCASTER (APPROXIMATELY 40 MILES AWAY). I WAS ALSO TOLD THAT THEY HAD TRIED TO REACH US TO LET US KNOW ABOUT THE DELAY. WE WERE HOME, AND THE TELEPHONE DID NOT RING. AT 8:00, WE CALLED, AND CANCELLED THE APPOINTMENT. WE WILL NOT RESCHEDULE WITH THIS COMPANY.

THE ONLY POSSIBLE LOCATION FOR THE DEVICE IN MY HOUSE WAS A VERY DIFFICULT SPACE TO WORK IN. THE TECHNICIAN DID A GREAT JOB WITH A COMPLICATED TASK.
