I used them last week. No charge because they have an extended contract and that is why I chose them. It takes a long time to schedule service. They're not very speedy in terms of scheduling repairs. I have been about a month without a microwave for like two or three weeks now. I usually don't buy extended contracts but I'm glad I did since this is the second time they have had to fix this microwave. How do I know that it took two people. They said that the person that put the report on the order that it required two people. I would use them again in the future but only because I have the service contract with them.
Description of Work: They couldn't fix my microwave because the job was suppose to take two people and they only sent one. The guy came, he looked at it, and he said he'd have to reschedule.

I called on 05-30-15 to schedule an appointment. I was told I would receive a call later that day or at the latest Monday, 06-01-15 by 11:00 AM. I did not receive a call back, and called them back Monday evening. They said I would receive a call back the next day, 06-02-15. I did not receive a call back, so I called them back again Wednesday, 06-04-15 evening. This time they were able to give me an appointment, for three weeks away, on a workday, they do not have evening or weekend appointments, and the appointment window would be from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM so I will have to take the entire day off from work. It looked like the warranty was a real good deal, but unless this repair would have cost several hundred dollars, it would have been cheaper not to buy the warranty, go to work, and pay out of pocket for the repairs from someone besides Sears.
Description of Work: I bought a Craftsman lawn tractor and repair warranty last summer. It broke down this spring, so I called to make an appointment for it to be repaired.

I was scheduled for anytime between 1pm-5pm on Thursday 3/13. Tech got here at 5:00pm. He was very nice and ran the dishwasher in order to get error code. Explained what was wrong and gave me the prices for repair. I was undecided at that time whether or not to repair or replace so he collected the $75.00 charge and gave me a coupon for Sears in case I wanted to buy a replacement. My husband and I decided to go ahead with the repair and I called the customer service number on Monday 3/17 and told the service rep that I had had an estimate to repair and wanted to have the repair done. Scheduled for the next day, 3/18 from 1pm to 5pm. At 4:00 that afternoon someone called and said the tech was running behind and it might be as late as 6:00pm before they arrived. At 7:39 I called the customer service number to tell them that it was getting too late in the day and asked if I could please reschedule; which I did for today, 3/20. A tech arrived promptly within the service time window, however he did not have the parts necessary to fix the dishwasher. He tried to call the original tech to see if maybe he had them on his truck but was unable to reach him. So he called the scheduling department and asked them to put me on the first techs schedule for that same afternoon. I got a call from the tech at 2:05pm saying he was 15 minutes away and as we were on the phone I asked if he had the parts and he said no...he needed to stop by and get payment so that he could order them. Why do they not take care of this through customer service when I call for a follow-up visit? Anyways, he finally arrived at 2:45pm(about 40 minutes instead of 15) and sat in his truck for about 10 minutes after arriving. When he came in I told him I would like to go ahead and order the parts and have the service completed. He then informed me that the parts would be shipped to me and that they would not be able to complete the job until 4/13 or 4/14. At that point I showed him the door and now am out $75.00, plus I have to start the whole process again with another company. Never again will I call Sears for any repairs to my appliances.

The reason I picked Sears was because it was a Sears's product. He was prompt and neat. He cleaned up behind him. He even offered to do something else for me. He knew we had other Sears's products. I was very pleased. I would say if you have a Sears's product go to Sears.

In 3-4 different appointments, Sears has failed to fix our dishwasher. Once somebody came and was and quot;too bigand quot; to fit into the space where he needed to go to make the repair. Another time, someone came out, said he didn't know what the problem was, and left. When I call for a new appointment, I'm given one three weeks out. Appalling and unacceptable. I even reached and quot;customer serviceand quot;, twice, who could do nothing for me but create a and quot;customer solutions caseand quot; -- so far, nothing has happened. Because I didn't call my home warranty company first, I'm now screwed out of using it.

Sears could not have done better. First, they were able to service my Samsung appliances and finding companies that service that brand a very few and far between. Second, their service rep came out the very next day after I called, so I was not without my dryer for more than a few hours. Third, the rep quickly diagnosed the problem and went out directly and picked up the replacement parts to install later that same day. Fourth, I did not feel pressured to take up the additional offers of the vent, vacuuming, and warranty. I had requested the dryer repair and the washer maintenance, but after I saw the huge build up of lint inside the dryer, I agreed with the rep's suggestions to fixing the problem. He recommended cleaning out the current amount of lint and installing a sturdier vent to the wall. I already knew the flexible hose vent was not strong enough (we had already blown out one before) and while he was vacuuming out the lint, he discovered that we had had a dryer fire! A large patch of lint was burnt black. I was saw him peel it up myself. Very scary. So I also signed up for the warranty which includes a free vacuuming out (it costs $40 on its own). I think it is worth it. And finally, everyone I dealt with was courteous and professional. I will definitely be using them again.
Description of Work: My Samsung dryer was making a loud, grinding noise while running. They came out the day just after I called, diagnosed the problem as a broken roller, and replaced the roller later that day after they picked up the parts. While here, I also paid them to install an sturdier dryer vent and to vacuum out all the lint that had built up inside the dryer. Additionally I had them do a maintenance check on the Samsung washer and signed up for a one year warranty for the dryer. The dryer service cost about $330, the warranty was about $75, and the washer service was about $40.

I scheduled a refrigerator repair service call and waited four days until the first available appointment time. I was given a four-hour window and called several times in order to seek a better idea of when they'd arrive. I was given conflicting reports; we were the next in line followed by, and quot;he's on his wayand quot;, followed by, and quot;we don't know but it'll be within the window timeand quot;. I had a tight schedule that day and needed to run a three-hour errand and be somewhere else by 4pm. One hour after my window time (@ 1pm) I received a call saying they needed to reschedule and the next soonest time was in two weeks! Apparently they didn't have a tech in the area but neglected to tell me this during any of my previous calls. I found another means to repair my fridge the next day but opted not to cancel my appointment just to see if they'd keep it. They didn't. Sure enough, two weeks later I got confirmation VMs the day before my appointment and then calls that they needed to reschedule the following morning. Sears is a BIG disappointment in their repair area.
Description of Work: No service was actually performed because they did not show up to the appointment. My experience trying to get a clear explanation on this before and after the appointment time was very frustrating.

I would recommend people who have products from Sears to go to Sears repair section. They also repaired a dishwasher for me earlier. I like their persistence in getting a proper part and their recommendations for getting a substitute parts for the grill. He was on time.
Description of Work: I used Sears for repair of home equipment. They repaired a grill which I was able to get a replacement burner unit and a couple of spare parts in February.

We did not spend anything on that service yesterday because under their master plan agreement they come out and service our appliances once a year. They were real helpful and walked us through some of the steps of just general care and even extra and we were real pleased with them. We signed on for another year.

Description of Work: Their delivery men (one was named Jeremy) were terrific. When they moved my pld washing machine out, there was a great deal of lint under it. I asked them to wait a minute so I could clean up the lint. Jeremy got down on his hands and knees and cleaned it for me. They were polite and professional and early. Great delivery service.

A good job at a fair price!
Description of Work: After having my brakes replaced, they began to make a noise. I took the car back to the shop about 10 weeks after the repair had been made.
