 + -1 moreThe only thing Ron Baluch from Preservation Exteriors did in a timely manner was to cash my deposit check. Three months later, the summer season is over and I'm back to square-one trying to get my house re-roofed.
Description of Work: I was given a verbal quote on a $15,000 roofing job by Ron Baluch in June '06. The work involves tear-off, building a new pitch and applying new shingles. He cashed my deposit check July 6th. Although he never gave me the written contract I requested, Ron seemed trust-worthy and told me work would begin sometime in August. But he never showed up and wouldn't return repeated phone calls. He finally responded near the end of August that work would begin in middle of Sept. Today is Oct 1st and I have yet to see Ron or anyone from his crew. As a result of my experience with Preservation Exteriors, I joined Angie's List specifically to find a reliable roofer and to warn others about Mr Baluch's business practices. He made me promises he couldn't keep, wouldn't answer his phone and took weeks to return my repeated calls. What a waste of time.

 + -1 moreOWNER WAS RESPONSIVE, PROFESSIONAL, AND PROVIDED US WITH A THOROUGH EXPLANATION OF HIS SERVICES AND BID, INFORMATION ON THE ROOFING MATERIALS WE INTENDED FOR OUR HOUSE, AND AN EXTENSIVE REFERENCE LIST. HIS BID WAS HIGHLY COMPETITIVE. IF WE HAD NOT ALSO BEEN WORKING WITH ANOTHER CONTRACTOR, WHO SPENT A GREAT DEAL OF TIME HELPING US UNDERSTAND THE ROOFING PROCESS AND HELPING US COME TO A DECISION ABOUT MATERIALS FOR OUR ROOF, WE LIKELY WOULD HAVE SELECTED PRESERVATION EXTERIORS TO DO THE WORK.
Description of Work: COMPANY WAS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED TO US BY A DISTRIBUTOR/WHOLESALER IN THE ROOFING INDUSTRY WHEN WE WERE SEEKING BIDS FOR A COMPLETE TEAR-DOWN AND REPLACEMENT OF OUR LARGE AND COMPLEX ROOF.

 + -1 moreHE IS VERY THOROUGH. HE SPENT SEVEN HOURS ON THIS JOB AND EVERYONE TELLS US IT LOOKS VERY NICE. THERE IS ONE THING THOUGH, HE SAID THE WATER WOULD BEAD UP ON THE DECK'S SURFACE. IT DOES NOT. WATER APPEARS TO BE SOAKING IN.
