Tri State Painting

Description of Work: Painted almost entire first floor, ceilings included, in a day. Great but never received warranty promised.

Description of Work: TriState Painting painted the entire exterior of our painted brick and wood ranch house. We contacted them in July and Chris came out, did a very thorough walk around with me and sent an estimate within a few days. He estimated he could fit us in in early September if the weather cooperated. We needed the job finished by the end of Sept. before a family wedding. September moved on and we received starting date estimates every week or two. When they finally started we were very nervous about getting the job finished before our deadline, but they made it. On day 1 they power washed the entire outside, revealing a lot of loose paint on the original parts of the house. On day 2 they caulked, did some wood repair, and went over the bad parts of the brick. On day 3 the crew of 3, including Chris, taped and covered all the windows and doors before painting. They sprayed and rolled a primer to the entire house, which was dry by afternoon. Then they sprayed and rolled the house paint, brushed on the trim paint, and very late in the day, did the doors, thus finishing the job on time. When they saw the amount of loose paint chips the washing had produced, they raked up as much as they could to try to clean it up. I really appreciated this effort. Chris installed the new shutters for us. The house looks great now. We are very pleased with the results.

Description of Work: I needed to get my house exterior trim and deck re-painted. Called Chris, and he was able to come out and personally provide an estimate a matter of days. Got scheduled only a few weeks later, but it took another week to start work due to rainy weather. After pressure washing, his team found considerable wood rot, lack of existing caulk, and noted that we would need a second coat of paint versus what was quoted. So the work done went from a simple pressure wash-prep-prime-paint to that plus carpentry work, lots of caulk, and additional coats of paint for the trim and deck. Only took a few weeks to complete with weather delays. My main gripe would be to have a more accurate estimate, or include two coats of paint as standard, then revise down if the second coat wasn't needed. At end of the day, though, the final bill was within range of other quotes I had for the job, so I felt it was reasonable for the amount of work done.
