Tri State Painting

Chris is wonderful to work with and is a perfectionist! He does a final walk-through once the job is complete and takes care of any imperfections. His crew works diligently and puts in long days. Chris guarantees his work and we highly recommend him.

The work went great! Chris was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. Nick and his crew were very professional and clean. Very friendly group to work with.

The work done was very professional and exceeded our expectations. The crew was very detailed oriented and spent most of their time prepping the house and fixing problem areas. I have had other painters do the entire house and Tri State exceeded their work by far. The work ethic of the entire crew was very high. I was very pleased with the entire job.

We scheduled someone to come out and give an estimate. Chris was professional, and promised an estimate on Monday (he came out Friday) after explaining everything in depth in person. It's not been 2 weeks since the promised estimate, and despite numerous attempts to contact I have not heard anything with regards to an estimate. This is very disappointing.

I have not received the estimate for work despite two calls to their office asking for it. I took time off work to let the estimator in my home and I even arrived early to accommodate his changing schedule. The estimator was very polite and seemed very knowledgeable, but feel short.

I have hired many people over the years from various professions and I have to say that Nick and Kyle of Tri State Painting were the most professional, punctual, friendly, hard working, speedy, with TOP QUALITY RESULTS out of any of these professionals. I am SO VERY THRILLED to have found them and will hire them again. The only negative was in the scheduling to get them onsite (about 3mos later than desired but that may have been a glitchy anomaly for them?). That said, I would wait a year to get these guys back instead of lesser profesional and/or poor quality workers sooner! I only wish they did electrical, plumbing, carpentry...etc as well!

They never called or emailed me back. I called and left message and also emailed them. No response from them whatsoever.

They never contacted me after I signed up for the "deal" on Angie's List. When I finally called them, they said that this deal did not really exist. Luckily, Angie's List gave me a refund, but I will not contact this company again, nor will I fall for other so-called "deals" on this list.

UPDATED REVIEW for Tri State Plumbing. Received an email from Chris with the quote for my painting job. He apologized for the delay. I have asked him to put me on the schedule. He did tell me that they are currently about 3 weeks out, which is totally fine, and actually expected. Hopefully things will progress from this point and I can provide another updated review. Stay tuned...

There are 2 parts to this answer. I'll first start with the actual work. Nick and his crew were professionals. Nick was very nice and overall, they did a great job with the painting! The paint job completely freshened up the house. Even where the original paint would be hard to cover. I would definitely use their skills again. There were areas where they were careless and paint was splattered onto my glasses and plates in my kitchen cabinets. When they moved my refrigerator back, they broke/loosened the water line so I had water dripping into the basement. Luckily the basement is unfinished and I was there later in the day to catch it or it could have been a major issue. There were no apologies from the owner. He just blamed the water line being too fragile. Business - communication with Chris the owner was a nightmare. First, It took almost 2 weeks to receive a written quote (granted it was very detailed), but I had to email twice and ask for it. Didn't seem like he cared about the job even though it was what I thought was a big job. Although I appreciate his detailed pricing, I felt like he nickle and dime me for everything. $22 for plastic that is reused at every job and a bunch of other stuff...With that said, I still hired him so obviously, I thought his overall pricing was fair. I would have to follow-up with him several times on multiple communications before he would bother responding. And when he did, he wouldn't always answer all of my questions. Very frustrating when you are trying to coordinate everything. When the job was finished, he didn't even tell me. I followed up with him one day and he said they had finished 4 days ago. He initiated no contact. All communication was initiated by myself. There were other things too, but nothing major. Overall, my decision was based on his pricing and other user's comments on the work itself. To me the frustration was worth the money and finished product. Just wish he acted like the customer was important to his business. It's too bad because Chris seemed like a really nice guy. I would recommend the company with a caveat and have already done so. I couldn't be happier with Tri-State. The estimate was right in the ballpark with other estimates I had acquired, except that Chris' estimate included much more detail and work, and they offer a 5-year guarantee. I was given ballpark time frame of when they could do the job, and they began the work exactly when they had stated they would. My entire home was power washed and prepped prior to painting. At that time, Chris pointed out to me areas that need additional attention, such as some windows that needed to be re-caulked/sealed. I do not feel that they "rushed" through the project, they took their time and paid attention to detail. I feel that they take pride in their work. They are a busy, successful company, so busy. But worth the wait. Very pleased with the results....

Very pleased with their work. The rooms look beautiful. I would not hesitate to recommend them and I will certainly use their service again when needed.

Work was excellent! Painters were friendly, on time, very careful, went above and beyond normal expectations. Everything looks clean and fresh now. It was a pleasure to have them in my home. Will definitely use them next time I need interior painting.

After having 5 other quotes we chose Tri State Painting. They painted our entire interior house from top to bottom and we could not be more happy with the remarkable job they did !!!!!!!! From price to quality they can not be outdone. Chris the owner was very professional and attentive to detail when providing us with information, suggestions and our quote. He was the most honest and conscientious when preparing the quote for our job not trying to add unnecessary cost. Amber responded to my emails or phone calls immediately when preparing to start the job to answer any questions and provide information along with scheduling. Well what can we say about Nick and his brother who did they painting... FANTASTIC... Nick and his brother who did the painting were the most professional, nicest, hardworking guys to deal with and transformed our right before our eyes!!! This was not by any means an easy task for them have to paint every wall, ceiling, trim, all doors, closets and fireplace. If you want quality, honesty and a great job I would definitely call Tri State Painting. Thank you very much !!!! It went off without a hitch for us. They arrived every morning at 8A ready to work and stayed on task all day every day. Cleaned up every day before leaving and were able to work around us having to still live in our house while the job was being completed. If you want it done right with honesty and integrity I would definitely give them a call.

The work was done as promised. The crew was friendly and hard-working. They were careful moving furniture and wall hangings. Everything was put back correctly. Chris came to supervise several times and did much of the work himself. He went beyond what was expected when he noticed that some crown molding and base trim needed caulking and painting. He made sure I was completely satisfied with the work and came back to touch up an area that needed another coat.

After making an email appointment, Chris showed up and toured the area, giving me general feedback on what work he would recommend. He pointed out some slight repairs I hadn't noticed, like caulking around the crown molding, and we agreed he would give me an estimate including and not including the repairs. He told me it would be a day or two. I never heard from him again. I followed up his visit with a thank you, and then after 12 days wrote questioning why no estimate had ever been sent. I still have not had a response. It is only the advice given that prevents an 'F.' If he didn't want the business, he could just have said so. I dislike feeling that my job isn't worth his effort. ***He finally got back with me and apologized profusely for not contacting me . Evidently, he had computer program problems. A nice guy.

This is the second time I have used this business and both times the service was top notch. I have used professional painters a lot in my area and would rate them very high on my list

Work was completed and was very well done. Painters were on time, were careful with my possessions, and cleaned up.

Tri State Painting did an excellent job for both my projects. The staff was very professional and polite, and they arrived exactly on time for both jobs. The painting looked great, extremely professional results. They did not skimp on the required prep work. They were very careful about covering all furniture and floor with drop cloths, and cleaned up all their supplies and waste before ending the job. I am very pleased with Tri State paining and will use them for my future painting needs.

Chris and his staff did a wonderful job! Finished earlier than anticipated. After the job was completed came back to touch up areas where walls had been damaged by carpet installers.

TriState Painting came out and pressure washed to remove oxidation from the siding and old paint from the wood trim and shutters. They also sanded down the basement windows which had rusted and painted those. They replaced any of the wood that had rotted with PVC, which blends in totally with any wood still there and painted all of the exterior surfaces and exterior doors and shutters. It looks like a new house. We couldn't be more pleased with the results. They still need to come back after they receive some parts for our porch railing which they will paint and reassemble inside before reattaching to the porch. We plan to have them come back in the spring to paint the exterior of our windows. They are also going to remove wallpaper and repair walls of one of our bedrooms. The painters were very professional and cleaned up everything before they left. They also made sure our gates were closed which is important since we have dogs.

I contacted Tri State for an exterior painting estimate. Chris came to the house and proceeded to look at the house and take pictures. He made comments about what he would do to achieve the best paint job. He answered my questions and said he would get a detailed estimate to me by early next week. That was fine with me. Well, 2 weeks passed and I did not receive an estimate. I phoned them and left a voicemail inquiring if there was a problem. Another week passed with no response. I left them an email asking about the estimate and once again heard nothing from them. That was about 2 months ago. They have my phone number, email and home address and I never heard from them again. I feel like dealing with them was a big waste of time. If they lack the integrity to produce an estimate as promised it says a lot about their professional ethics. It was a very disappointing experience.
