Tri State Painting

Chris did a great job painting for us. He was responsive to our calls and was able to squeeze us into his schedule as we were working with a close deadline. We would definitely use his painting services again. Thanks Chris!

It was excellent. They painted the entire house. They were neat, prompt, and very pleasant to work with.

Chris was very professional when he arrived to give his estimate. We are trying to sell our home so he made suggestions on the type of paint & color that would be good for our painting purposes. He also offered to repaint an area we had already finished so it would match the paint type & color he suggested for selling a home. His team arrived on time for the job & quickly got to work like a well-oiled machine. They were very courteous while working and made sure to offer me the chance to look around to see if they had missed any spots as they were finishing up. I found a few & they quickly fixed them to my satisfaction. My house looks great!!They made sure all of the furniture was put back and their mess was picked up before they left. I only had to put up my curtains (since the paint was still drying when they left). I would definitely recommend their services to anyone I know that wants to hire a painter. If I ever need to hire a painter again, I will definitely contact them.

Chris came to give me an estimate to paint our new house and pointed out many details about the existing (bad) paint job that I had not noticed myself. I chose his company over slightly lower other bids due to his calm and professional demeanor and obvious attention to detail demonstrated on our initial walk through. The job was scheduled a month in advance and began on the agreed upon date. Chris, Nick and the rest of the team were all very nice and easy to work with. I kept adding rooms and areas to paint, including repainting an almost two story built-in cabinet, and the guys basically repainted my whole house over the course of 3.5 days. (They were also extremely nice about the fact that the electricity was out on the first day due to my screw-up with the electric company - just went about their prep work and got a lot done.) It was also easy to let Chris know colors and additional info via email and text and with voicemails at his office and he was responsive - which was not my experience with others who could barely provide a bid without being confused about my phone number. Finally, the paint job itself is great. Very close attention to details around trim work, where walls and ceilings meet, along the floor, etc. Chris was also great in fixing nicks and marks in trim and on doors throughout the house. I told him to basically fix whatever little issues he saw and he did, including again pointing out problems that I had not noticed. This is the third time I've repainted a whole house that we've moved into in the last 5 years and Chris is on par with the custom painters I've used previously. At a much more reasonable price. Highly recommend.

I have an old house and many painters I contacted wouldn't even do an estimate. Chris gave an estimate and completed the job. He and his crew did a superior job of prepping for paint and, as a result, the finished job looks fantastic. He also does a 5 year warranrty, which was much better than anyone else I talked with. The only problem I had with them was a lack of communication about when they would be able do the work. I know weather is a major factor in exterior painting, but a monthly update would have been reassuring.

Chris, the owner, estimated and set up the job and helped us make all the l decisions about colors and types of paint. He was as good as his word on the start date and his crew were friendly and cooperative. Their prep work was excellent and their clean up was good as well. The quality of the painting itself was excellent. The job was originally scheduled to take 4 days. Because of rain on the start day Chris brought in many of his his otherwise unoccupied painters to work on our job. The first day we had 5 painters and the second day 4. Our house is modest in size and though the crew worked well in the tight space, things felt chaotic and rushed. The job was completed in 2 days. This was a work style I will avoid in the future. I agreed that the wall behind the books on two built-in book cases did not need to be painted when (because of the difference in the whites used) it really did. The buffing and sanding of the Venetian plaster was skipped---those walls still look good, but not like the pictures! Because a satin finish paint was used on the kitchen cupboards we could not clean them without taking the paint off, and so, had our handy man repaint them with a cleanable semi-gloss. Our handy guy also took care of a couple of heat registers which Tri-State skipped. And one of our step ladders got carted off at they end---returned about three weeks later. The job came in about $300.00 over estimate. Overall I give Tri-State an "B" for a great looking job, but there were too many problems left for me to deal with after they were gone.

That went fine. I've found they aren't as concerned with details or cleanup as I would have liked. They're accommodating about getting the work done in a small time frame. They were willing to compensate me for some damage that they did as well. They also were able to accommodate my schedule, when I needed them.

It went well and they were in and out in a day.

I had used Chris once before for cabinets and the painter, Stewart, did such a great job I had them back for additional work. I felt so confident that Chris was giving me a good price I didn't get bids as I had on the first job. Painting looks great and clean-up was always a priority. I love the way my kitchen looks. He will be the first person I call with any additional painting requirements.

Best painters ever, very professional, highly recommend!

I had problems with Tri-State initially because of delays and poor communication. However, those problems have been resolved and they are currently working on my house. I will return when the job is complete to do a final rating, but wanted to remove my original negative rating.

They were great. They were cheap, it was good. They were at accommodating our schedule. They were very timely.

The owner came on time looked at the job and I accepted the estimate. The next day he came and did the job satisfactory to me.

Met with Chris for an estimate. He spent a long time walking around the house, taking notes, taking paint samples etc. He left a good impression that he knew the best way to tackle the job. His estimate was the lowest of four. The project took about 15 working days - 10 or so were spent on just prep work. I am very pleased with the outcome and would recommend Tri State Painting.

It went fantastic. Chris is a great guy, providing estimate, checked at house often, his crew did an excellent excellent job painting. I cannot say enough good things about him and his crew. I would recommend him without hesitation to any and all. I was very impressed. Chris even came back after carpet people were here and touched up. Mid job I also wanted extra work done, no problem very accommodating to my changes/wishes. Cost wise I thought they were well within my limitations.

They met all expectations and more. Well worth the money.

Great company to work with from start to finish. The owner did a walkthrough and provided a detailed estimate.They showed up on time and completed the work in the estimated time frame. The job turned out beautifully. One of their strong points is the high-quality preparation before painting. This is the second time we have used Tri-State. The first job involved removing extensive wallpaper, priming, and painting. I have recommended this company to several friends and will continue to do so.

This was a super experience from beginning to end. Chris is VERY sympathetic to home-owners who used to do their own work--and can no longer, for whatever reasons. He understands that some picky people (ME) like jobs done a certain way. Guess what? He's very much a perfectionist and wants to do his very best work. So when I told Chris I liked a lot of prep work (necessary repairs, etc) before the paint can is even opened, he understood that. Two prime coats and two finish coats--that's the way I work. Chris, too. :-) Not only Chris but his crew, too, were outstanding. These guys represent "generational experience" and that was apparent, too, in that NONE of my challenges were beyond anything they'd dealt with. Moreover, these guys were KIND. There was NO condescension to a non-professional home-owner... just pleasant professionalism at EVERY step of the game. The work they did for me is just EXCELLENT. I am so happy I found them. THE BEST!

I would highly recommend Tri State Painting! We had a very small window of time with the wild Winter to get the exterior of our house painted and our house on the market. Tri State provided us with a timely estimate along with detailed product information of the paint to be applied and why it was best for our particular home. We found that insight very valuable. They were on time, professional and very thorough. I used them because of an Angie deal. However, I would use them again at the full price. They are so worth it. I highly recommend them.

It went amazingly well. The painters were prompt, arriving each day at 8 and leaving at 5 except for the main man, who often stayed late to clean up things. They moved everything, covered my furniture, tried to leave at noon for lunch so we could have our lunch. I should add that they put things back, too, when they finished the job. When they left each evening they moved our microwave back so we could use it, also the coffee pot. At night they would bring our small kitchen TV in so we could use it during dinner. (Not such a good thing, but we like to watch the news, no children!) The same men came, although one might be added to speed things up. I can't say enough about what an outstanding experience this was. The painters were so helpful and pleasant to have around, and we will certainly have this company back if we need additional painting. I give them the highest possible rating; they knew what they were doing and did a fine job.

Great job....difficult work, old house, uneven plaster, lots of trim, etc...very thorough and put forth a lot of effort to make us happy.
