We had been using the same company since we bought our home 25 years ago but after they changed owners a few years ago we no longer felt they did the work at the same high level we had seen for years. We decided this year it was time for a change. We checked Angie's List and Spivey had wonderful reviews and a deal. Toby, the owner, came and went right to work. I really felt comfortable with his professionalism and I like the fact that it was not a mega company. He did a great job and the system has been working great so far this heating season.

I HIGHLY recommend Spivey Heating and AC. Tolbee returned my call promptly, and worked his schedule around mine to come out and check into a Carbon Monoxide leak that I had going on. On the original call, he gave me some suggestions as to what could be causing the leak, and said that he would check into all of them for me. Which he did. However, it was soon discovered that the heat exchanger in my furnace was cracked and my (24 yo) furnace would need replacing. He had a camera that wound into the furnace itself and he showed me the crack. The service call was inexpensive, $65 and worth every dime. He gave me a very fair estimate on a new furnace from Bryant (my choice) and was at my home in 2 days to do the install. Tolbee and his associate were very professional, efficient, courteous, and cleaned up their work area after they were finished with the project. He even cleaned up my A/C so that it ran cooler and more efficient for us! If you have to look around for estimates, look here and look no further. Spivey is the way to go.

Spivey made an agreeable appointment and came at the specified time. He expected to check the furnace as a special from Angie's list, but found that the heat exchanger was corroded plus a few other problems. He fully explained the problems. Then he showed me the carbon monoxide meter and print out which indicated carbon monoxide was unacceptably high. He also informed me that he had to shut down the furnace due to the danger of pernitting it to run. Planning to replace the furnace and a/c in the spring, I asked him if he would like to submit an estimate. Agreeing, he sent me an estimate, which was lower than an estimate I had previously gotten from another company. The temps were going down at night, so urgency, a cold house, and knowing his thoroughness made my decision easy to contract him for the job. Spivey explains everything you would ever want to know about a faulty furnace and the installation of a new hvac system. Spivey and his partner came to replace the system on time and worked quickly. They peeled back the casing on the old furnace and showed me the corrosion in the exchanger. He also took photos of the problems and emailed them to me. Spivey is a class act in HVAC: Quality service, effecient, excellent diagnostician, fairly priced and performs superior installation. In my estimation, Spivey HVAC surely lives up to and exceeds his high rating with Angie's list.

He explained each step, showed me the results he was getting, took his time explaining it and answered all my questions. He was very pleasant & I never got the feeling of being rushed. I liked the guy, he was cool.

Toby arrived on time, diagnosed the problem as being due to insufficient air flow. Replaced air filter with a slightly more porous option, and the problem went away. Charges were reasonable (in line with the cost of a service visit from other providers I've used).

Everything went, very, very well. Toby was great and very personable. I felt at ease and knew I was in good hands. I will not hesitate to call him again in the future, and will recommend him to anyone I know of that needs work done on their heating or A/C units.

I purchased a Big Deal for an air conditioner tune up. They came out and did everything the deal promised.

Mr. Spivey ordered and obtained new unit and parts within two days after the incident. He and partner replaced old unit, wiring to same, the fuse in the main board and in the furnace. Checked and made sure everything sound. Very professional and punctual. Unit is working great. Would use again.

Everything went well, and I was pleased with the service. The technician arrived on time, did a thorough job, and showed me a defective part that he had found which I appreciated. I opted to replace the part, and he had it installed within two days. There have ben no problems since that point in time.

They had a tune up special and they did not over charge me. We have an old air conditioner and I asked for a quota. They didn't have many options to keep it going. It would have been nice if they could have kept it going, but they didn't over charge me or anything.

Mr. Spivey came and checked outside section of AC. Cleaned as needed. Came in and changed setting on furnace and humidifier and changed furnace filter. Personable and on time. Will use again in the fall.

I requested estimates from three local companies, and Toby bested them by several hundred dollars (and in one case more than a $1000) in addition to responding quickly and arriving promptly at the appointed time. Based on our conversations, I chose Spivey to replace my equipment, and Toby arranged to do the job within a week. On the scheduled day, he arrived right on time with Sam, another local contractor, and both immediately set to work tearing out the old equipment. Since my walkout basement is unfinished, this went fairly fast. The install, however, took all day (8:30-5:00), and with the exception of a brief lunch break (with Toby even offering to pick me up lunch while he was getting theirs!), both men worked the remainder of the time. No loafing with these guys! Upon completion, Toby showed me what they had done and how everything worked. The work was clean and professional, and he even vacuumed my basement floor, leaving it far cleaner than they found it! The outside was equally free of debris and any evidence that they had been there, save the shiny new AC unit. Toby followed up by scheduling an inspection from the city a few days later. The inspector commented on how great everything looked and the installation passed with flying colors. I cannot say enough good things about Toby and his professionalism. I would not hesitate to recommend him and his services--you will not be disappointed. In the four years I've lived here, my house has never been cooler or more comfortable!

I purchased an Angie's list deal for ac tuneup with Spivey. Toby was prompt in following up and scheduling the service. He arrived on time and provided a lot of knowledge and great advice in addition to doing an excellent job with the tune-up. I will absolutely be using Spivey again and would highly recommend them!

Toby Spivey of Spivey Heating and Air Conditioning does a great job, and I would highly recommend him to anyone. Punctual, professional, and knowledgeable. Takes the time to explain everything he's doing, what needs to be fixed and why (or why not), and provides tips on how to properly use and care for your equipment. He performed an annual gas furnace cleaning, tune up, and inspection, and also provided a report that detailed the efficiency of my gas furnace so I could compare it to the manufacturer's claimed efficiency. I will hire him again this spring to perform annual service on my air conditioner.

Had to make a special run into Cincinnati to obtain the breaker. Very good job...very professional.

Toby Spivey was great! Very friendly, knowledgeable, thorough and professional. The deal I purchased was to clean and service the boiler for the upcoming winter, but he did such an amazing job, we used him again in January when the heat stopped working due to a full expansion tank. I would definitely recommend Spivey Heating!!!
