Description of Work: I have done business with Ken for around 28 years. I've had him at my home several times over that period replacing various parts on my spa as they wear out. He has always been on time and does the work needed at a reasonable cost. I highly recommend him.

Description of Work: Amazingly well. Our spa was malfunctioning and I tried to get a service appointment from one of the bigger spa companies (not an easy task, they only do service calls certain days, certain times, etc.). I saw Ken's great ratings in AL and gave him a ring, he called back quickly, then arrived that same day. He quickly identified the issues and happened to have the replacement motor and oxidizer parts already on his truck. What initially looked like a several week process to get our spa fixed ended up being scheduled, diagnosed and fixed SAME DAY. We could not be happier with the service provided by Ken's Spa Service. Will definitely use again.

Description of Work: Hot tub stopped heating. Ken tried to talk me through fixing it myself to start with. Once we determined that I could not reset the heater, Ken came out and diagnosed a blown circuit board. He sourced a new circuit board and installed.

+ -1 moreKen was very professional and responsive. I had installed the hot tub and prior to coming out he talked me through the installation to determine if I had made an installation error. I had, which I corrected but since the heater was shorted Ken still had to come out. Ken was very knowledgeable on hot tubs and very quickly diagnosed the problem. He was able to fix it immediately and did not need to order parts. Obviously this is a common failure but the fact that he had the required inventory on his van was impressive.
Description of Work: Diagnosed that the heater was bad and replaced it. Checked installation and inspected hot tub to verify ready for use.

+ -1 moreKen called to let me know he was in route and showed up on time. He took the panels off the hot tub and found the cause of the leak and the reason the motor wasn't running. The valve was cracked and the motor was froze-up. The capacitor had melted. I watched as he explained what was wrong and how he was going to repair the spa. He had all the parts with him and the repair went quickly. He cut out the old valve and replumbed the line. Next, he replaced the capacitor but he shaft wouldn't turn. Luckily, he got it free and I didn't have to buy a new motor. I also had him replace my old violet light ozonator with a new ozone generator. Ken was friendly and professional. I thought his pricing for service call and parts was very reasonable.
Description of Work: Called Ken's Spa service for a leak in the spa plumbing and motor #1 not running. He found the problem right away. It was the capacitor on the motor and cracked valve.

+ -1 moreVery poor communication. No follow-up or communication of any kind for over a month. We have paid $300 for nothing at this point. It has been over 4 months and the agreed work has not been completed and no estimated date has been provided.
Description of Work: Ordered new spa cover and lift several months ago and the initial cover was ruined by Ken prior to installation and had to be reordered. We ordered the cover on January 4, 2010 and paid a $300 deposit. The cover has still not been installed and no contact attempt has been made by Ken. We have used Ken in the past for routine maintenence and that service was ok but this issue has been very agravating and I doubt I will continue to use his service.

+ -1 moreThe service tech. was great and he explained how I should clean my system, etc. However, he found that my issue was user error and there wasn't anything wrong with my spa. I had to pay for his travel costs and the cost of the service trip. I didn't like the cost, but he was very professional.

+ -1 moreI wish that we had known the circuit breaker was out before he came so he didn't have to make two trips and possibly fix something that wasn't broken on the first service call.
Description of Work: Ken fixed leaks in our spa. The first time he came out, the spa was not functioning at all because a circuit breaker had gone bad but we didn't know that. He fixed what he thought would be the typical leak but we didn't really know if that area was actually leaking because we had no power to the spa. After we got the breaker fixed and turned the spa back on, we noticed what was actually leaking. Ken came back out, didn't charge us the service call fee and ended up fixing a pretty bad leak. He had to take apart one side of the spa to get to it. He is a very friendly and professional person.
