Description of Work: We had 2 bathroom remodels. They did excellent work and were very professional. They also were very aware of cleaning up after each work day. The projects lasted almost 2 weeks. Very pleased and would hire again.

Description of Work: Darren was the contractor for my first floor major remodel last summer. He coordinated the project for resurfacing and installing oak floors throughout my first floor to match my existing flooring and the work performed by his sub contractors was outstanding. He and his crew remove my old kitchen and bathroom cabinets and install the Starmark cabinets I picked out from Modern Builder Supply. I worked with Donna at MBS to redesign the layout of the kitchen and Darren helped with some final adjustments to make the whole kitchen match my vision. I worked with his subcontractors at Stone Statements who help me pick out the perfect granite which looks amazing (they had to cut a piece around a weight barring pillar in my island and made the granite look seamless around it.). He worked with my schedule to start the project and coordinate the timing of the floor finishing (couldn't walk on the entire first floor for a week so had to vacate the house.) We are really pleased with the outcome of the project and appreciated his professionalism, punctuality, and attention to detail. He was patient with my questions and follow up on any concerns I had.

Description of Work: We hired Hoelle construction for a rather large covered deck/ with built in fire place job. I can not say enough about how great Darren and his team were to work with. Darren was the first contractor we spoke too , who provided thoughtful, honest, value add feedback to our project. He and his team are true, dedicated, hardworking professionals. When Darren said they would be here, there were here; All team members were friendly and respectful. Their workmanship/ quality is top notch. Our finished deck is just beautiful. Thank you Darren for helping us create an outdoor living space that we were surely enjoy for many years to come!

Description of Work: Complete tear off of decking and railing. Squared up and replace joists as needed and installed TimberTech decking and railing with lights and 2 sets of stairs. Deck is two levels, 1 14x16 and 16x20.

Description of Work: I purchased an Angie’s List Big Deal of $1,499 for $4,000 worth of work from Hoelle Construction & Maintenance. I originally planned to have them lay down some underlayment before having new carpeting installed in a second floor room. Darren suggested that he could repair the sagging ceiling in the room by tightening the plaster and then hanging new drywall over the top of that and finishing that off. He said that the ceiling repair with drywall hanging and the laying the floor underlayment would use up the entire Big Deal amount. When I learned that they did painting, I asked for an additional quote for repairing the holes in the plaster and painting the entire room. The quote from Darren for the Big Deal part of the job was an additional $2,280 on top of the original $1,499 I paid for the Big Deal. The painting quote was $1,760. Ours is an old house and we often find that additional things come up whenever we remodel. Darren ended up adding another $730 to the cost to cover an unexpected repair and some additional painting. The entire project cost including the Big Deal, was $7,269. I am not at all clear that this was a good deal. At the beginning of the job, they put well used tarps down in the house, from the front door, through the living room, up the stairs and through 2 hallways, where they were going to be going in and out of the house. They left the tarps down the entire time of the project, 4 days. We agreed to allow them keep the tarps down for the entire time as we assumed that when they were finished they would vacuum the carpet where the tarps were placed once the job was finished. They did not. They had all the drywall and all the underlayment for the project delivered to our house the morning of the first day and those materials were propped up against a wall in our living room. The drywall was installed the first day. The underlayment was not installed until the third day. We had no idea they would be using our living room as a staging area. We assumed that the materials would be delivered to the job site on an as needed basis, as is done by more professional contractors. At the end of each day after they left, I had to move their loose tools into the work space as they left them in the hallway where we could have easily tripped on them and injured ourselves. As the job progressed, on several occasions my husband had to point out things that needed to be done as they were simply ignoring spots in the room that had to be repaired and were supposed to be part of the agreed contract. Once he pointed them out, they worked on them. I am not sure they would have done so had my husband not pointed them out. After they had finished the job, I had to put another coat of paint on some of the baseboard in the room as they just didn’t paint all the way down to the floor. I think they assumed that the carpet would cover it but it was obvious to me that it would not. I didn’t see it until after they had left with my payment in full. On the plus side, the work crew arrived promptly every morning. They were friendly and pleasant. The finish on the ceiling and the skim coating on the walls is very good. Overall, the paint job is good. The underlayment was installed well. They did a nice job of adding some additional baseboard to fix holes in the original baseboard. If I should ever hire them again, I will insist that at the end of each day, the tools and materials are placed out of the way so I will not be tripping over them overnight. And, I will insist on an overall cleanup at the end of the job.

Darrell came out and we discussed what i needed done - removal of a short interrior wall and/or some roof work, He seemed like a capable guy. Unfortunately we never never able to coordinate our schedules for the work to be done, so I obtained a refund.

Description of Work: I used Hoelle Construction & Maintenance for roof repair. They came twice and once were on the 6th of October then second time was a week later. They fixed the hole on our roof and repaired some faucets.

Description of Work: I was very very pleased with the services of of Hoelle and will definitely use them in the future. I had a pedestal sink removed and new vanity installed and it wasn't an easy job. However, great care was taken to remove existing vanity without any damage to the vanity or my home. Extra care was taken in installing vanity and it looks beautiful! I would, without a doubt, recommend them to friends and family. I am a landlord and use construction and remodeling services all the time and am very selective and quite picky and my expectations generally exceed the services. However, this time, my expectations were exceeded!

Description of Work: I have been doing business with Darren Hoelle (pronounced h***-ee) for approximately 8-9 years. Darren is very reliable and dependable. I've made a lot of calls to his answering service during the times that Darren was working on my home, and 98% of the time Darren returns my calls within 15 minutes. I can count on him to show up on time for scheduled appointments, and in a week I can count on receiving a detailed, written estimate of the work to be done. The thing I most like about Darren is that he is just not an order taker. For example, when I was discussing a remodel of my master bedroom bathroom, he asked me if I had considered a number of features he had used in previous jobs. He did the same when he remodeled my kitchen. When he installed a tile floor in my family room, he delivered a wide selection of samples to choose from. I appreciate his professionalism and attention to detail. I tend to be pretty picky about things, and I have full confidence that he'll get the job done to my full satisfaction. I don't know too much about how his pricing compares to other contractors. You get what you pay for. His vehicles are in top condition and he is insured. I obtained one or two quotes on a few of his jobs and he was in the ball park. I am not one of those people who gets 10 quotes before I make a decision. I don't like wasting my time, or contractors' time. My confidence that he'll do the job in a thoroughly professional manner is such that I'm willing to pay 10% over what another contractor might charge, rather than risk hiring a contractor I don't have a history with. Even though I'm a tightwad, I think my money with him is very well spent. The peace of mind is worth a few dollars. The jobs he has done for me include: 1 - Tuckpointed chimney 2 - Installed door between the kitchen and dining room, and living room and front foyer (to keep dog off hardwoord floors) 3 - New front porch (pillars, stamped concrete, recessed lights and hanging porch swing - it looks like it was always part of my house and I've gotten a lot of compliments on it) 4 - New shingles on garage (to match new shingles for roof over front porch) 5 - Installation of new water heater 6 - Incidental plumbing 7 - Remodel kitchen (last year- new cabinets, new appliances, the works!) 8 - Remodel master bedroom bathroom (two years ago - replaced linoleum floor with tile, new vanity/cabinets, replaced fiberglass shower/tub with tiled shower stall with glass doors. It looks like it was built with the house.) 9 - New tile floor in laundry room 10 - New tile floor in family room (I got tired of cleaning carpeting - the dog again) 11 - New patio with pergola overead and pavers - just completed and it looks great! 12 - Painted kitchen Now that I think about it, Darren basically rebuilt my home! I hope you find these comments to be helpful.

Description of Work: Remodeled 11x 7 master bathroom - laid tile, installed cabinetry, sink & counter, mirror, lighting and plumbing fixtures. (We did the demolition ourselves to save money.) Laid laminate flooring in entry hall and large-eat-in kitchen. (We pulled up carpet and some vinyl to save money.) Replaced steel door between house and garage. Repaired cabinets in kitchen. Repaired drywall in bedroom. Installed 2 windows. Finished out a closet and installed bi-fold doors.
