From our first meeting back in February all the way through to project completion - Jeff was always available for correspondence. We communicated primarily through text + email, and it was never a problem. Jeff's crew, Sean, Phil, and James were all very friendly and professional. When you have contractors in your house for 6+ weeks, you hope for people like this. We have some other projects on our "wish list" around the house, and I would not hesitate to go to Feldhaus first. Thanks for the great work.

Highly rated as he is, Jeff let me know on my first inquiry that he was booked up for several months. This was not a big issue for us as we did have another shower we could use in the house so we went with him anyway. He gave us a suggestion of where to go to arrange for the new shower walls, pan, and door which we then ordered. I selected the needed new fixtures, floor tile, vanity top, and toilet and sent a detailed description to Jeff to make sure they were appropriate and after he agreed, I bought them. We had some times when we would be out of town and worked with Jeff to schedule his start time when we would be home. He arrived on schedule. He found that the old bathroom floor tile were on a couple of inches of what I would call cement and he went to work chiseling this out with the bathroom door shut to minimize the dust in the rest of the house. A nasty job is was considering that there was no openable window in the room. He took the old shower pan and walls out to the studs and joists (this areas is over a crawl space.) and put down new plywood subflooring in the whole area before putting the new surfaces in place. He kept me abreast of what was going on and along the way consulted with me several times to be sure that things like shower shelf height and shower head height were what I wanted. When the new tile was placed, it was about an eight of an inch higher than the oak flooring of the adjoining bedroom and he found a wonderful matching wood strip to smooth the transition. He cleaned minimized tracking dust or dirt into other parts of the house. I had 3 marble 12 inch tiles as a "back splash" between the top of the old vanity top and the mirror on the wall and since the new vanity top was a little taller, they no longer fit. He cut them to fit and even cut 3 unused new floor tile to that same size in case we wanted to change the back splash to match the new flooring. I have waited a year to write this review to make sure we were happy with the whole setup and we have been very happy with the new setup. My only caution would be that if you need something started right away, Jeff probably is not going to be your guy since is is busy and for good reason: He does great work.
Description of Work: restore and upgrade bathroom. The 50 year old shower had a small crack in the pan that allowed enough water to pass that it led to rot in the underlying wood. This needed repair and we wanted new shower walls, new flooring in the bathroom, a new toilet, and a new vanity top along with new fixtures for vanity and shower.

How did it go? Didn't! I had an appointment set up with Jeff, time and date confirmed. He did not show up and did not even call to cancel or say he was running late. Not a very good first impression and definitely not a way to run a bus in my opinion.

Jeff and team renovated our kitchen in 2017 - completely removing everything from the existing kitchen and starting from scratch. We are so happy with the quality of the work and responsiveness to any concerns or questions we had through the process. The bidding process was slow as there is a third party that does the design and cabinetry, but it was worth the wait! Would definitely recommend Jeff and will contact them for any future projects!

Jeff Feldhaus and his crew did excellent work consistently across all of the renovated bathrooms and the kitchen, with beautiful results, bringing many years of refined experience with this type of work to the projects at hand. A number of people with whom I have shared the completed work - both friends and people involved in home-related businesses professionally have said, "Wow!" The resulting rooms really look gorgeous, and all of the work was done in a meticulous, careful fashion from the proper preparation for the tile floors to discussion of where to locate fixtures, mirrors and accessories. The rooms were fully torn out, then carefully rebuilt and repaired, including plaster/drywall, painting and carpentry. Jeff was very patient with the contracting process and all of the preparations; we made a number of revisions to the original contract at my request and moved forward with the work from there. Jeff also referred me early in the process to Mark Prince, a designer at W. Stephens Cabinetry with whom Jeff has worked for many years; Mark's professional skills with designing and measuring for the cabinetry and layout for the kitchen and bathrooms set the stage for great results as well; quartz countertops for the kitchens and bathrooms were ordered through Stephens as were the wood cabinets for the kitchen. Everything ordered appears to be of excellent, durable quality and also looks as attractive as expected. Stephens offers a wide range of styles and choices from a number of vendors in both cabinetry and countertops. The relationship there worked out really well in terms of coordinating everything both logistically and from the standpoint of style, achieving beautiful results. Jeff and Mark both worked closely with me over a number of planning sessions to ensure that the results would be what I was looking for, and to ensure that they had accurate plans and measurements for the eventual installation. Jeff's skill with woodworking resulted in lovely finishing touches on the kitchen cabinetry - carefully installed trim and moulding. Both Jeff's company generally, and W. Stephens specifically, offer choices that strike a good balance between quality, expense/cost, and taste. Jeff also communicates through the entire project regarding various details, and doesn't just do 'whatever' when little choices come up along the way, but rather takes time to do the work properly, not just to move it along; he takes the time to ask you questions, and you benefit as a customer by asking him when you have questions about anything, or feel like something needs a touch up or adjustment. He is very creative at finding solutions to little problems that arise; the fans he likes to install in the bathrooms - a Panasonic quiet fan- did not fit into the given structure in one of my bathrooms. After considering a number of possibilities, Jeff ended up constructing a soffit - with my permission - that accommodated his preferred model of fan. When it was time to build the niches in the showers, he emailed me asking whether I wanted them installed horizontally or vertically, and showed me what the results of each choice would look like in the context of my shower and shower/bath. I had selected a pre-made shelf for one of the showers, and we both agreed that the style and color didn't mesh well with the rest of my tile/bath choices; his creative solution, which looks very attractive, was to take a sample of my quartz countertop and to have shelving made that matched my countertop selections. On another occasion, he had selected a grout for the bathrooms that he thought would match well with the tiles, but when we looked more closely, it didn't seem to be the best choice. I had a color stick/palette from a tile company, and we went back to the drawing board, finding something that meshed perfectly with both the bathroom floor and the shower bath tiles. For some of the electrical work and plumbing work required by these projects, Jeff and I agreed that I would involve the licensed electrician and plumber I work with ongoing, and that cooperation worked out well; he is very flexible with these kinds of requests, but I think appreciates if they are planned in advance. With Jeff's process, the customer supplies some of the materials, but he provides you with a shopping list of the amounts required for your projects; for me this worked out well because it avoids having the contractor select tile or lighting that might have been unappealing to my taste. He recommends possible vendors for the materials to be supplied by the customer. Jeff and his crew (Phil, Sean) were all very enjoyable and trustworthy people to have around my home, something that matters a lot when contractors are going to be in your home for an extended period of time. Sometimes, because of the commute to my home, varying amounts of work to do on a given day across the project, and other project commitments of theirs, there was some unpredictable scheduling and re-scheduling, but the changes were always communicated in a timely manner by Jeff, and he is very accessible for you to ask any questions or to discuss anything, scheduling included. This was the reason for my only "B" in the punctuality area. The project duration - the actual construction phase- overall was about 4 months. There were some minor delays related to materials issues (plumbing back orders and an error), and one cabinet replacement required (problems not caused by them). Actually, they are careful to inspect everything, and that was one the reason the cabinetry defect was noticed quickly; the cabinetmaker shipped the replacement fairly quickly and there was no issue with obtaining a replacement, another benefit of the collaborative relationship established between W. Stephens and Jeff. The spirit of servicing and accommodating the customer was of a high quality, what one hopes for. Jeff clearly cares about his customers and the quality of work that he does. I am truly pleased with the renovated rooms in my home; they look beautiful and all feel like inviting and comfortable places to be now, where previously they were significantly worn and even unappealing (e.g. a former Master Bath shower that was like a tile cave now transformed).
Description of Work: I renovated my kitchen and all four bathrooms. This involved a complete tear out in each room and rebuilding from there. I didn't change the boundaries or really even the layout -in a major way - of any of the rooms, but fully renovated each room from the ground up. Specific tasks involved installation of kitchen cabinetry & trim, installation of bathroom vanities, lighting, mirrors, painting walls, constructing new door trim, having new interior doors made and installed, redoing kitchen pantries (doors, shelves), painting & trim, plumbing, installing new lighting, mirrors & accessories, extensive tile work (floors and shower), installing a new shower tub in one bathroom, installing faucets & related fixtures, installing quiet/higher-quality bathroom fans, raising a shower ceiling, building a soffit for a fan in one room, constructing a new shower in master bath (tiles, plumbing, working with high-quality shower glass contractor etc.) and appliance installation in the kitchen.

Everything went smoothly and all workers were punctual, courteous, cleaned up after themselves and most importantly they did a great job!! Jeff let us pick our own construction items (tile, etc.) but gave us names of businesses he liked to work with. Tile person (James) was very meticulous and did a great job as did all the workers (Sean and Phil) I would DEFINITELY hire them again!!
Description of Work: Tore out existing floor and tub. Constructed new partial wall for enclosure of a walk in shower. Installed heated floor, new floor tile, new wall tile for shower. Installed new vanity. Installed new light fixtures and exhaust fans. Installed new toilet and shower fixtures (plumbing included). Repaired walls and installed new baseboard.

Jeff had remodeled our 40 year old kitchen 5 years ago We were so pleased with his work that we did not get any other bids for this job. We just called him up and told him what we needed. He and his workers come and work every day or call and explain why they are not there (waiting for the dry wall guys or tile guy). They tore down a wall and moved a door to enlarge our bathroom. He did tear out, building a wall, plumbing, electrical, and installation. They clean up after themselves and put away all tools each evening. They put tarps over our carpeting each day to keep it clean.. Their attention to detail is excellent. They explain any changes carefully and thoroughly. We are so happy with our finished product that we have hired him to do our third bathroom in March.

Jeff and his team recently completed an extensive kitchen remodel for us that included: removal of walls, widening doorways, removal of popcorn ceiling, patching and refinishing of hardwood floor, addition of and relocation of lighting, removal of soffits including pluming relocation, installations of all new cabinets, installation of 2 stage crown moldings, installation of under cabinet lighting, and installation of backsplash. I’m sure there are other small things but that is a fairly comprehensive list. We couldn’t be happier with the results. Jeff and his team delivered a level of craftsmanship and professionalism that truly exceeded our expectation. When we were interviewing contractors, Jeff was the only one that was able to meet our budget. Because he doesn’t sell all of his own materials like some of the other “kitchen design studios” it allowed us the freedom to shop around and find materials that we were not only satisfied with, but also met our budget. I highly recommend him and will likely call again in the future when it’s time to refinish our master bath.

Jeff and his team were great! They brought our 1950s bathroom in to this century and did an amazing job. We got several quotes from different contractors in Cincinnati and Jeff was by far the most reasonable. I even added additional items for Jeff to fix/do subsequent to our original quote (i.e. replace the door, add outlets in other rooms, etc.) and he completed everything with no problem and didn't overcharge me for anything. He kept in contact with us throughout the process, was timely, and everything was completed beautifully. I can't say enough good things! We'll definitely have him back to our home for future remodels.

Jeff and his crew do excellent work and are friendly and professional, we are very happy with our new kitchen. The timeline went as expected once work was started and he fit us in fairly quickly after we accepted the bid. We decided to add can lights the day they started work and Jeff was able to adapt to our new plan quickly and get them in same day. Jeff is also great at communicating any delays in timeline and stays in touch on any outstanding items or questions, which was a big deal for me. I will definitely be contacting Jeff and his team again if we end up remodeling our bathroom.

Jeff works with Mark at W.C. Stephens & Co for cabinets and counters. Mark is extremely experienced and can design and customize the space over and over until you get what you envision - layout, materials, appliances, everything. Everything is communicated professionally. After we got everything lined up with Mark, we lined up the schedule with Jeff. The wait list was 6 months at least for Jeff to get started, which we saw as a good sign, and it was well worth the wait. After demo, James comes in and makes his magic with the flooring. James works at a steady pace, but is thorough and careful in his approach. Everything needs to line up straight and level before he moves to the next tile. He doesn't just slap it down and grout it. After the floor is finished, Jeff's team comes in and does drywall where needed. Then cabinets and appliances, and finally countertops and backsplash (James comes back for that). All in all it was a long process, nearly 8 weeks, but it was worth all of it because the kitchen is perfect. The bathroom went much faster. Throughout this entire process, the schedule was communicated clearly, and questions were answered promptly. We knew what was going to happen next, and when, which was very reassuring. Additionally, little things would pop up (in our case, a gas leak which needed to be repaired quickly. Jeff's team sprang into action and closed off the leak without being asked and without extra charge.) which are managed no questions asked. Jeff's price was a little higher in the quoting process than other contractors, but I knew I was buying 1. communication, 2. quality and craftsmanship, and 3. that attitude of taking care of the little things that pop up without hesitation. We have a master bathroom project coming up soon, so if you want Jeff, get him before we do!
Description of Work: We've used Jeff and his team (Phil, James, Shawn) twice now. Once for a complete kitchen remodel, and once for a bathroom. The kitchen also included tile floors which stretched into the foyer, bathroom and laundry. His tile guy, James, is an artist and artisan. The kitchen also needed drywall, cabinets & counters, backsplash, appliances, etc. The whole gamut. In the bathroom, it was also a full replacement with the exception of the tub.

We had a good experience with Feldhaus. I found him in Angie's List because he had general construction listed as his expertise areas. We noticed that part of the first floor ceiling was wet. Jeff found out it was from an incorrectly installed wax ring on one of our upstairs toilets. He replaced the leaky seal - and one from another toilet that was not leaking (we requested this), replaced the drywall and textured the ceiling to match as closely as possible. He also fixed drywall from another leaky project in our kitchen. He sent a subcontractor over to fix the drywall. When the man arrived he was professional - handed me his card and told me that Jeff had sent him over to repair the drywall. I don't know how this price compares to other service providers for a similar service. We considered this issue an urgent, non emergency item so we didn't do much comparison shopping. We were pleased with his professionalism and he was personable. When we are ready to remodel our kitchen we will call him for a bid.

Jeff was excellent to work with and did a beautiful job remodeling our kitchen. My husband and I are in love with the work he did and have already been recommending him to all our friends. Jeff was extremely accommodating, constantly checking in and giving us updates on the status of the job. Jeff was also very transparent about the cost of the work and gave us the best estimate out of 4 other contractors. He removed all the existing cabinetry and soffits, all flooring, demolished a pantry closet, and carefully removed the original trim. His team then rebuilt the previous pantry as a space for the refrigerator and completely reconfigured the layout of the kitchen. We are confident the quality of his work will hold up. We also enjoyed working with his team at WS Stephens Cabinetry - Mark is amazing to work with. Overall, we had an excellent experience and are very pleased with our new kitchen!

Thought I entered this before so apologies to Jeff as he earned the praise. Jeff did a great job from start to finish. He was the only one (of three) who took the time to cut and view what was behind the boarder over the original cabinets. Pipes and wires meant we could not order the taller cabinets which the other two were pushing to sell. Jeff is a craftsman as it shows in his edging and corners. The guy, John Hartkemeyer, he uses to do the joint compound and sanding was also fantastic. Smoothest finishing I've ever seen. Definitely would use both again.

What else can be said that hasn't been already - and it's all true. Jeff and his crew are fantastic and do exceptional work. It felt like having good friends who you trust and enjoy hanging out with coming in each day to gradually build toward a virtually perfect finished product. They definitely and unequivocally have our full recommendation. As with any such project there were ebbs and flows in the progress and frequency of visits, whether due to scheduling conflicts or awaiting some detail. But any of that was more than eclipsed by their willingness to tackle project wrinkles (notably a tricky flooring situation), assist at inconvenient times and take the time to talk through any questions - all while staying right on budget/quote. Expect to purchase your own fixtures (accent lighting, hood, appliances, faucet, etc), but also expect terrific flexibility from the crew in installing them (within reason, of course). It cannot be stated strongly enough how refreshing and reassuring it is to do business with a group of such impeccable integrity, with whom you genuinely have faith in the fact they're really interested in making sure your wishes and concerns are fully addressed. Phil and Shawn were the 2 regular crew members. Great guys (one of whom has exquisite taste in college football teams, the other not so much) and hard workers, but incredibly personable and easy going. James (tile man) is a true artisan who takes great pride in his work - and even talked us into letting him do extra work in the interest of having the tiling turn out optimally. He was right, and also a very nice and interesting man. Bonus mention of Mark Prince with W. Stephens is warranted as well. While not technically a member of Jeff's team, we were referred to him for cabinets and design in the earlier stages. His eye for detail and experience were critical to the full project.... and also a friendly guy with a good sense of humor who was always available to answer our questions or meet us at times that likely were not ideal. All told, we would highly recommend all people involved without hesitation and would work with them again in a heartbeat - in fact, we will be doing another smaller job with Jeff in the near future.
