Lonnie and Chad showed up exactly on time to deliver the mattress and platform and they couldn't have been nicer. After they left, I removed the velour zippered cover from the mattress to wash it since it smelled like incense. I was shocked to find that the mattress was covered with stains! I called Lonnie right away and told him that the mattress was stained and he told me that the stains won't hurt anything! When I put the cover back on the mattress, I found a nickel size hole in the cover, near the zipper. The hole in the cover doesn't match up with the holes in the mattress that you will notice in one of the photos. I noticed that the date of manufacture on the law tag is April 25, 2005! I've purchased quite a few mattresses in the past 24 years and normally the manufacture date is somewhere between a week to a month before the delivery. This is three and a half years! I believe that I was sold a used mattress. Either the cover was removed and washed, or a cover from a different mattress was put on the stained mattress to hide the stains. I called the manufacturer and learned that WBNS is no longer a Tempurpedic retailer, which is interesting. I'd been in the Sawmill Rd. store recently and they still sell Tempurpedic mattresses, but apparently they are just selling what they have left in stock. Lonnie and Chad also did not leave any warranty information or product registration card with me, even though I asked for it. Fortunately, the manufacturer takes excellent care of customers and asked me to send photos and my receipt to them. After receiving the photos and receipt, they sent me a new mattress and took away the one that WBNS sold me. However, I don't feel that the manufacturer should suffer this loss and I'd like WBNS to either refund me $1706.93 so that I can forward it to the manufacturer or they could send it to the manufacturer in care of the person I dealt with there (Cindy). If they choose to send the refund to the manufacturer, then I'd like to receive documentation to prove that they did this. I sent an email to the Asst. General manager of WBNS asking for this. He replied with an apology and said that he was forwarding my email and photos to the proper person, who he was sure would deal with the problem promptly. It has been more than a week now and I have not heard another word.
Description of Work: On 9/20 I purchased a California King Deluxe Tempurpedic mattress at the outlet store for 1706.93 (tax included). Our salesman was Lonnie. They also built a platform (using 2X4s and waferboard) to raise the mattress up since it was being put in a waterbed frame. I paid $30 COD for the materials needed to build the platform. Lonnie had told us that the reason the mattress was at the outlet was because it had been delivered to another customer but was the wrong size. He said it had been at the outlet store since March (6 months). Delivery was on 9/22. I've been a loyal customer of Waterbeds N Stuff's Sawmill Rd. store for many years. I bought my son's queen sized soft side waterbed there as well as an innerspring mattress for the guest room and several sets of sheets. I'd never been to the Outlet store before.

Response from WATERBEDS 'N' STUFF INC
This member purchased a Cal King Deluxe Tempur-Pedic that had been taken to a customer's house and upon discovering it was the incorrect size, was returned and became a floor model in our outlet store. Because it was a floor model, she received a substantial discount on her purchase. Originally, $2399, her price was $1599, a savings of $800. Upon receiving the mattress she was unhappy and contacted the manufacturer. Tempur-Pedic then took it upon themselves to replace this mattress with a brand new one. We consider this matter closed. Thank you, Mark Edwards.
