Why work with us? Southern Grove Landscaping was established nineteen years ago, in 1986, by a graduate from Ohio State University who studied in depth what it takes to achieve perfection in your landscape surroundings. Award-winning landscapes do not just look good for one season -- an excellent landscape should transcend the season with plants chosen for our Ohio climate and accents of stonework and design variation that command attention. That's our specialty. While everyone thinks about flowers in the spring and mowing the grass in the summer, your yard needs special attention throughout the year: during the winter delicate plants should be wrapped or transferred inside; in the spring the landscaping always needs extra special care to make sure the plants and lawn start the year off right. Summer heat means that proper watering and fertilization are important to keep plants healthy, whereas in the fall, trees and shrubs begin to go dormant, so transplantation then preven ts shock to the plant and helps to ensure healthy new growth in the spring. We are pleased to announce our nineteenth anniversary of making Columbus and surrounding areas beautiful. The experience has always been very good. Sometimes during the busy season we may have to wait a while, but they tell us what is going on. Once they do the work they clean up well

They did an excellent job this time as they always do. They show up on time and get the work done. They always clean up after them selves and haul things away.

Richard has planted nearly all my shrubbery over the years and pruned shrubbery 2 or 3 times. I have always found him to be fair and friendly and professional.

Richard was very thorough in laying out options when he visited initially. The written price quote arrived in a very reasonable time. The job was completed on time and done very professionally. The lawn showed no sign that a crew had even been working - no trampled grass, no extra dirt laying around.

It all went very well & better than we hoped!
Description of Work: We have used Southern Grove twice for complete yard landscaping. The first time was in 2000 for a home in Worthington. The whole job was beautiful & still is today. People would stop, look at the front yard, & ask who did the work. Then, in 2006 we moved to Grove City & we called on Richard again. He developed a plan that we could pick & choose what we wanted or if we wanted to change anything. They made our yard look finished, & transplanted trees & plants to better growing areas. We will call him again because of the great service & people, including Richard, who worked here.

I called Southern Grove and set up an appointment. They called the day before as a reminder. Richard showed up on time and was very courteous, knowledgeable, and willing to give me some tips. His estimate was a little higher than another company and that is why we did not have him perform the work.

WE HAVE THEM DO OUR MULCHING EVERY YEAR OR TWO. THEY'VE DESIGNED AND PUT DOWN LANDSCAPE BEDS FOR US IN THE PAST, AS WELL AS MOVED BUSHES. WHEN A WEEPING CHERRY TREE THEY SUPPLIED DIED, THEY REPLACED IT WITH NO PROBLEM. OBVIOUSLY WE CONTINUE TO USE THEM, AND WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO IN THE FUTURE.

MOST OF THE WORK WAS DONE DURING THE DAY WHILE WE WERE AT WORK. THE REMOVAL OF THE TREES AND SHRUBS WERE PEFORMED VERY WELL. THEY CAME ON A RAINY DAY AND THE YARD WAS REALLY MUDDY. THE DIRT WAS THROWN UP AGAINST THE FENCE WITHOUT A PLACE FOR THE RAISED BED TO HAVE WATER RUN OFF EXCEPT IN THE FRONT WHERE WATER GATHERS. ASKED THE OLD FIREWOOD TO BE REMOVED BUT IT WAS LEFT BEHIND BUT WE ARE USING IT IN THE GARDEN AS A NATURAL RETAINING WALL.
