Description of Work: Not much. Didn't finish the work

Description of Work: Installed drop ceiling in basement, drywalled basement walls,installed doors and can lights. Would not recommend.

Description of Work: I initially hired Murdoch Home Improvement to do grout in Master Bathroom and fix guest basement shower (no water coming out of faucet). Jobs were completed and I paid in full/cash. I then had a problem with my garage door not opening. Murdoch Home Improvement immediately came out and opened my garage door for me and I was able to get to work at a decent time and then, they fixed my door - new spring. I greatly appreciated the speed of job. I paid with cash and charge card when job was finished. Then, L. Murdoch asked me to review their work on Angie's List and I agreed. Later, I noticed my shower did not have water coming out of faucet again. I made appointment with Murdoch Home Improvement again.

Description of Work: This company performed multiple updates and repairs on our older home. As you know, remodeling older homes can run into many unknown problems, and ours was no exception. Larry came out and we went over the various projects. Within a couple of days he provided a very detailed estimate and then carefully explained it to us. We accepted the estimate and work began immediately. We had recently remodeled the master bathroom with a beautiful new tiled shower, tiled around existing roman tub and a new tile floor. Unfortunately we didn't have a professional check out the plumbing first and ran into major water leak problems. Larry researched and diagnosed the problem . It was necessary to cut out tile around the fixtures to replace mixer valves, etc., and re-tile, cut through walls, then re-drywall, fabricate plumbing system to allow 3/4 to 1/2 water feed, various other plumbing, plus picked up parts needed from various stores. As I am new to the area Larry actually picked me up in his van and drove me to several distributor showrooms to pick out new fixtures for the shower and vanity!!! The result was wonderful! Installed kitchen undercounter lighting. This took some research and creative engineering to in order to install the lighting the specific way I wanted. Again the result was wonderful. Replaced chandelier and kitchen light. Painted vaulted entryway. Replaced 4 exterior lights. Installed electrical outlets. We were discussing getting a new entryway door and side lights. Larry suggested he could just replace the glass on the side panels (broken seals) and save us from having to invest in that very expensive project right now. Wonderful!

Description of Work: Constructed hand railing, ran bathroom vent outside instead of in the attic, cut off and capped an abandoned drain, replaced lavatory faucet, adjusted mixer in shower to get hotter water and adjusted the toilet.

Description of Work: I called and left messages that were never returned. When i did reach someone they said they would be out to give me an estimate and they never showed up or called. I found someone else to do the work I needed to be done. I had called for an estimate on some work I needed done. I left several messages and they never got back to me. I gave up on them and went with someone else.

Description of Work: Install garage opener, dishwasher, 4 ceiling fans, towel hooks, 3 bathroom mirrors & brackets for window panels. Mounted flat screen.

Description of Work: Mr Murdoch had previously completed some miscellaneous handyman projects at a home on South Ogden Avenue, Columbus, Ohio which we have been refurbishing before placing it with a realtor for sale.We found Larry to be very friendly, capable and competent in performing the prior work for which his bills were reasonable and were promptly paid. During the week of 10/22/2012, Mr Murdoch replaced a drain trap in a bathtub and also dismantled the tub shower control mechanism to determine whether it needed to be repaired or replaced since it had been leaking. Larry determined that the control could not be repaired and would have to be replaced. He agreed to obtain the necessary parts and return the next week to install a new shower control On Wednesday,10/31/2012, Mr Murdoch called to state that he had found a replacement for the Moen control and would return to install it on Thursday, 11/01/2012. When Mr Murdoch did not show up on 11/01 as agreed, we left several phone messages with him in an effort to make other arrangements to complete the work. He did not return to complete the work and did not return our telephone calls. Finally, on Friday,11/022012,we advised Mr Murdoch by email that if he did not get back to us that weekend, we would have to engage someone else to complete the work. We have had no further contact with Mr. Murdoch We have no criticism regarding the quality of Mr Murdoch's work or his charges. However,he failed to achieve the professionalism,responsiveness and punctuality we would expect from a tradesman who values his reputation..
