I thought the install was ok until my husband told me about the extra 50 feet of coax left in the garage that is now wrapped around our utility wires.The system worked ok until cold weather when the cameras would work sporadically...I also had trouble with the DVD.
Description of Work: installed 4 security cameras and dvd. left large length of coax in garage that was subsequently pulled out by the wind and wrapped around the other utility wires creating a dangerous situation.contract says we have a 7 year warranty, started having problems with the DVD, cameras won't work when it is below freezing and video quality is very bad at night.I emailed many, many times and on 12/6/2011 he finally wrote that he would set up a service ticket...that is thee LAST time I heard from him.what a ripoff...If you are going to get a 7 year warranty better make sure the business will still be in business after 7 uears and not hopping around fro one name to another... I bought the cameras when he was doing business as JDMK Commoditiesand security system company which is no longer active.

Sorry Member for the trouble, The only you emailed me was about the DVR password ! I do recall an email also about a camera problem I am sorry for the failure to get there. We have replaced your first DVR at no cost to you under warranty, The hard drive failed numerous times due to over heating and dust being pulled into unit by the internal cooling fan we sent it back to the factory and they found it was overheated and shorted the motherboard. THe New DVR was replaced same week you asked for serivce, You were supposed to remember your password for your DVR. If you have forgot it and or changed it i dont have the power to default the system and start over. The Cameras you had purchased were good quality because the price point you needed to be at. However they are not the BEST you can have for night vision , They are good for your price and application. Please understand with Quality is a price. I have since been out of business since June 2011 .. I cannot fix or change that now. We had tried and been in business for 10 years prior to your sale. To many clients and other services we worked for had closed their doors so the natural evolution had followed suit. We had also tried to hang on but no success. The rip off companies are out there and we are not one of them. They are guys who work in salvage yards by day and install security systems by night. At almost free cost. those are the guys with cheap prices and scam installs, We cannot survive on that with the way a professional company should. Insurance cost of $500 a month , Employees , Taxes , Fuel , Equipment, Licenses. With all those varibles it makes hard to sell a system to customer for almost free and survive. The extra 50 ft of coax cable is how we went from the house to the garage for the alley cameras without trenching across the backyard. if we left some wire by accident on site i do appologize. I also Upgraded the Quartz Security Lighting outside a no cost in labor to you. The problem with the cameras in the cold we didnt know before is a power problem, the power packs are 12vdc 500ma , they need to be upgraded to 12vdc 1amp they cannot hold the load of the camera and the IR lights at night which will give it poor picture quality. We didnt know this was a manfacture change in design and required additional power to work flawlessly. Please take into consideration other things before running someone down on the internet. We do appologize Deeply with our failure to service you properly . I even forgot I had an Angies List account till your comment arrived in the email inbox . THere has never been any complaints on our company in the last 11 years of services.
