I recently had the pleasure of working with Dave Richards Home Improvement to finish my basement, and I must say, the experience was nothing short of outstanding. From start (Bruce is awesome!) to finish, their team demonstrated the utmost professionalism, craftsmanship, and attention to detail, resulting in a truly remarkable transformation of my basement space. I am delighted to provide them with a well-deserved 5-star review. The final outcome of my basement is beyond my expectations. Of the various contractors that I have used for projects around our home, Dave Richards Home Improvement is the supplier we are most comfortable endorsing to our friends and family. We had gotten multiple quotations to have our basement finished, and their quotation was competitive versus the field. However, what I think makes this team stand out versus others: 1) Speed: The team works quickly to get the job done with minimal days on site, basically working as long as it was convenient for us. We have a young daughter, so having the crews end work so she could sleep was huge for us and they were always respectful of our home and time. While we ran into a few snags with materials, Bruce communicated with us throughout the process and ensured we got what we needed. 2) Flexibility: When we asked to make some adjustments throughout the build process as we saw the framing or other items go in, they were able to accommodate them and actually worked with us to ensure we were happy with the result. Flabio, the framer, came out a follow up time to change some of the soffits for us, not because he had done anything wrong the first time, but because we preferred the look of framing out our soffits slightly differently after looking at them for some time. While I am sure they do not want everyone constantly changing the scope of the job, I truly felt they wanted us to be happy with the basement and did not force us to continue with an initial plan just because it was what was written at the very beginning. While other suppliers may have had more elaborate drawn up plans, the flexibility Dave Richards afforded was actually more valuable to me as the ability to make adjustments when we saw how things actually looked in our basement was helpful. No plan on paper can substitute this and Dave Richards did not throw change orders at us even if we asked for some small adjustments. 3) Transparency: They did not nickel and dime us after their quotation was done. We also had the ability to provide our own fixtures if we wanted. Alternately, they passed through their discounts on fixtures (e.g., toilets, vanity, shower) from Lowes directly to us. I would guess other companies would charge retail prices and keep that margin for themselves. Any incremental costs we paid above the first quotation were from an explicit request we made (i.e., asked to replace some standard doors with glass doors) and we were provided with a quotation prior to any invoices. 4) Clean: Their team always brings drop cloths to protect the rest of our home when working and maintains good communication with us throughout the day. They also cleaned out materials and even when leaving the worksite day to day, vacuumed and organized tools and materials for the following day. Mike, one of their team leads, even saw a small paint drop on our main floor (where they were not working) and offered to help us get it off. 5) Integrity: Based on the points above, we just feel that Dave Richards Home Improvement is the type of company and team with whom we want to do business. Hardworking, capable, and respectful teams that just want you to be happy with your project and done at a fair price. As a fairly sizeable project for us in terms of scope and spend, we were happy to do it with a company that worked with us to ensure we realized our vision for our basement and was not looking to get every dollar out of us that they could. Bottom line, Dave Richards and his teams are just good people and the type we love having in our home. We will definitely be calling Bruce at Dave Richards Home Improvement anytime we have a home project and would recommend them to others for any of your home improvement needs. Deborah S. Bruce was the lead project manager for our basement renovation and he was effective and responsible in delivering the contract. He was a stellar communicator and was very personable from start to finish. We were advised initially of the process flow and the crews delivered outcomes without deviation from the proposal. All crew members were punctual, professional, and respectful. The work site was always kept clean and debris removed promptly. The materials used and design is consistent with the upper level of our home. Bruce and the Team made our basement vision come to life. We recommend David Richards Home Improvements to others.

We worked on our basement project with Daveâ s team. We got quotes from several other companies and there were overall reasonable. They had a very quick turnaround and were able to complete our basment in 35 days. Every staff member from Daveâ s team did a great job. Starting from Bruce who made sure to update us about the process at each step. Dave himself stopped by several times during the project with great ideas about our bar area. Mike was great and made sure everything was done correctly. They were only at our home for around 12-13 days to complete the entire work. Cost wise they may be in the midrange of the spectrum but you will like their work. It will be worth the money. Highly recommend this team !

They finished out our basement. It turned out great. They all were great to work with. They got the job done very quickly. Now, we are looking into the next project for our home we may be able to have them do.

Excellent experience all-around. I got a few different quotes before finishing our basement and felt the most comfortable speaking with Bruce. Not only did David Richards Home Improvement come in thousands of dollars less expensive, but there we no pressure sales tactics. Bruce listened to our goals for the project and was able to design a very nice layout. The workers put in long hours and finished our basement in about 4 weeks. When a few minor issues came up, Bruce, Dave and Ashley were out to inspect the work promptly and make corrections until we were satisfied. Bruce will walk you through every step to avoid delays. The kids, my wife and I are extremely happy that we finally finished our basement and feels like a natural extension of our home. Thanks to everyone at David Richards Home Improvement!

Before starting my project I got multiple quotes and David Richards could not be beat. They also were able to start and finish my project before the other companies would even been able to start. EDIT: I wanted to come back and add that long after the completion of project, our rep, Bruce Irving, continued to reach out to us to see if there was anything else they could do for us. From start to finish this project has been outstanding! Dave and Bruce coordinated the work of a group of hardworking, dependable and really fun guys! Bruce has a wealth of knowledge about the design and building process and helped us hone our vision of the basement into a plan. (Bedroom w/closet and egress window, 4 pc bath, utility room, living space and kitchenette) The team worked diligently to complete the work as quickly as possible, never sacrificing quality work! They were able to foresee and accommodate the changes we might need along the way. When we were stuck on design choices, Bruce had excellent ideas which alleviated all stress! This fantastic crew turned our builder-bare basement into a space that is useful, comfortable and adds significant value our home... and of course, it is GORGEOUS!! This holiday season we are especially grateful for these guys!!

We contacted Bruce when we wanted to have luxury vinyl tile installed in our kitchen, because Milt had installed the flooring in our basement about a year ago and had done a fantastic job. He was our first choice. Within a couple of weeks our kitchen floor was done, in less than a day. It looks beautiful and we couldnâ t be happier. The professionalism of this company and the quality of their work is exceptional.

They were responsive and happy to work with us and our requests, and helped find a way to give us the functional space we needed. Weâ re extremely happy with the final project!
