Residential roofing, shingles, rubber (flat roofs), repairs, seamless gutters, siding, soffits & windows, chimney repair, mailbox repair, remodeling general & storm damage - will work with insurance company to resolve any insurance claim issues.
Daniel E. Hebble charged me for improvements to my roof that were clearly not done and, very likely, constitute fraud. Let me explain the work that was promised and not done, then you can judge for yourself whether to trust him to do work on your property. In 2006, the roof on my two-story house in Columbus, Ohio, was damaged by severe hail. The insurance company agreed to pay my claim to replace the shingles on the roof and the aluminum siding on the house. I met with Daniel Hebble in early spring 2007 to get an estimate on the repair. He suggested that in addition to replacing the shingles, he would install a ridge vent along the peak of the roof and an attic fan. He said these additions would improve circulation of air in the attic, reduce the build-up of heat in the summer and prolong the life of the shingles. I signed a contract with him at that time to replace the aluminum siding, replace the shingles, and install the ridge vent and an attic fan. The work appeared to go smoothly, although the crew replacing the aluminum siding was not entirely competent. The crew covered with new siding an air vent from the first floor bathroom. My wife caught the error, but the crew didn't speak English and couldn't understand the issue. Either Mr. Hebble or a supervisor eventually showed up and agreed that the siding needed to be installed properly to allow the venting of the bathroom fan. I should have realized this was a sign of other potential problems with the job. In 2009, I engaged another contractor to renovate the second-floor bathroom and install additional insulation in the attic. When this contractor entered the attic, he noted that Mr. Hebble's crew had never cut vents in the soffits under the roof to allow air to enter the attic and flow up through the ridge vent and the attic fan. (The side vents in the attic had been covered by the new siding.) The attic fan had burned out because it was trying to suck air in a "vacuum." I complained to Mr. Hebble. He couldn't explain why his crew had failed to cut the necessary vents in the soffits. He did sent a person to cut several holes in the soffits and he replaced the attic fan. About a month ago, I engaged another contractor to enter the attic and replace the attic fan, which apparently had burned out again. This contractor noted that the ridge vent had never been cut in the roof. The cap for the ridge vent was simply installed right over the peak of the roof. As a result, there has not been effective ventilation since Mr. Hebble did his work. I don't believe two major construction mistakes like this are accidental. They show either incompetence or deliberate fraud. I don't know which is worse. Meanwhile, I have engaged ABLE Roofing to properly cut the ridge vent and install a new cap. The project consultant from ABLE confirmed that the ridge vent had not been cut. I am considering legal action against Daniel E. Hebble & Associates, Inc.

It went very well...quick response, the shingles are tight now even though we have had additional windstorms. No leaks.
Description of Work: Dan had installed our roof four years ago after a hailstorm. During a windstorm in March several shingles over the porch were blown off. I called Dan and he came the next afternoon and replaced the damaged shingles himself. He was very responsive. He also caulked several areas on the house roof and the studio roof. While he was on the roof he even cleared the gutters of the balls from the Gum tree! Since he had installed the roof there was no charge.

My roof was damaged during the wind storm in the fall of 2008, leaving several areas of the roof exposured. I remember we were about to have some heavy rains and everyone was frantic trying to get their roof repaired. I called several roofers who were so busy they couldn't fit me in for several months, a lot of good that was doing me. Then I went to Angie's List and called Dan Hebble and Associates. I left a message with the secretary who assured me that somewhat would call me back. To may surprise, Dan Hebble called me back and told me not to worry it would be handled that day. And that he did. We spoke at a later date and he explained what he had done and assured me that the roof would be good through the winter and into spring. I was very impressed with the fact that Dan was truly concerned with preventing my roof from leaking and causing damage to my home. Eventually, an estimate was mailed to me, which I in turn sent to my insurance company. Dan Hebble worked with the insurance company on my hehalf. I had no hassles and my entire roof was replaced. Dan would call me and keep me infomed of the progress being made with the insurance company. He was always pleasant and professional. When I met him in person he was even more so. Dan is very trusting and he really cares about people. He takes great pride in his work and his workers and his reputation. Dan, please accept my apologies for the delay in sharing my experience. Thank you for a job well done. You went above and beyond.
Description of Work: The work was completed sometime in June/July 2009. The forman came to see if I had questions. They worked dilengently, no playing. The job was started and completed the same day. The men cleaned up very nicely. I was very impressed with the fact that they let me know they were done and to see if I had any questions. The men handled themselves in a professinal manner and were quite courteous. I am very pleased with my new roof. Excellent job!!! Thank you Dan.

Dan and his crew did a great job. Once we had agreed upon the work to be done and price, he was quick to get the job started. There was also some urgency as the rubber roofing needed a semi-warm day for the adhesive to setup; Dan was sensitive to that fact it was already late October and waited for the right day/temperature to do the work. Ground cleanup was very good around the back roof. On the side roof, the crew had forgotten to reattach a gutter and left some nails and scraps; when I called Dan about that he had someone out the next day to fix it. Also, on the upper back rubber roof job, the crew had to remove some cheesy mesh gutter covering I had installed to do the job. I noticed that it was gone and made a mental note to replace it, but when I went back up a couple weeks later I found that Dan had recovered the entire length of the gutter with his top of the line Leaf Guard cover, at no charge! Incredible service from an honorable man. I noticed some have said he is not very communicative w/regard to phone calls and such, and I agree somewhat, but I must also say that this is far out-weighed by Dan's committment to quality work and giving his customers MORE than what they expect! AAA+++ Highly recommended.

Aside from the roofing job itself (which seems to be holding up well) I'd like to commend Dan for working with us and, especially, our insurance company during the long and difficult process of getting them to authorize repair for those portions which were truly damaged. Our insurance company was being especially cheap and Dan worked with us and them, taking pictures of the damage and sending them in and following them up with phone calls etc. Seems that being a roofer these days requires a lot more phone work than it used to. The job itself was relatively quick and, aside from a bit of litter, done very well.

That is funny! At the time of completion the member was very happy and very satisfied! Her roof was not installed right away because of the cold weather, I made sure that her roof was weather proof and secure until the weather cooperated and we could get the new roof installed, It took one day to install her new roof, I can't do it any faster! Why is she filing a report one year later?

They are well-priced, their warranty is good and they are extremely fast. The work on my house cost me $5800 which included seamless gutters and for the garage roof at my rental it was $1000. I would rate them highly - I wouldn’t have used them right away if they weren’t good.

I bought my first house in August of 2008. Two weeks after closing Hurricane Ike tore chunks out of the roof of my house and garage, damaged the siding, and seperated my back patio from the home. Naturally I freaked. Using Angie's List I called a few contractors for estimates. Several came out and looked at the damage and gave me their thoughts. A few weeks later one of my neighbors asked how I'd gotten a contractor to work on the house so quickly which was news to me because I hadnt decided who to hire at that point. It turns out Dan came out to work out an estimate on my place and without even knowing if Id hire him or not he patched up the worst spots of the roof with tar paper and secured things to get me through upcoming bad weather. None of the other contractors had done more than look around and kick up some shingles. I was so impressed that he'd do this for me without even knowing if I'd give him my business I hired him that same day. Dan worked with my near useless insurance company to get the damage appraised but by the time we were issued checks it was far into November. When other roofers were putting on roofs in 20 degree weather, Dan explained why we needed to wait for warmer weather and secured the damage to get me through the winter. He could have just slapped the roof on in cold weather and took the money but he was more interested in the roof lasting than he was about the money. When the roof was finally replaced it was fast and his guys were efficient. My insurance was only going to pay for 15 year shingles but Dan got me upgraded to the 30 year variety. His guys took my siding down and rehung it for better support and even put up chicken wire on my attic vents to block an unwanted raccoon who was trying to freeload in my attic. I'd hire him again in a heart beat. In fact I will be hiring him again soon to replace a damaged side door on my garage.
Description of Work: 1. Replacement of the roof on my home and on my two car garage with 30 year shingles. 2. Removed and rehung the vinyl siding on the front of the house. 3. Replaced a 22x19 aluminum patio awning with a new one as well as removing the old trashed one. 4. A few misc odd jobs related to the storm damage. 5. Fought for me with the idiot insurance adjuster from Merchants who suggested I fix my garage with duct tape.

On 9-24 Mr Hebble told me he would stop by to give an estimate on the week of 9-29. He did not show up and did not call. On 10-7 I called again and was told they were busy but I was still on the list. I still heard nothing from them so on 10-22 I called again and was told someone would be out to do an estimate within the next 10 days. By 11-3, I still had not heard from them, so I called on 11-4 and left a message requesting a return call by the end of the day or I would be contacting another company. Still no call! That they were "too busy" was understandable; that they were NOT CONSIDERATE enough to return my calls was not.

I AM TRULY SORRY THAT PEOPLE CAN'T UNDERSTAND THE IMPACT THAT THE HURRICANE HAD ON CENTRAL OHIO AND YOU KNOW WHAT, NEITHER DID I. I HAVE BEEN WORKING NON STOP TO TAKE CARE OF MY CUSTOMERS, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE, IF YOU CALL AND GIVE ME AN ULTIMATUM TO HAVE YOUR ESTIMATE IN BY THE END OF THE DAY OR YOU ARE GOING TO USE SOMEONE ELSE I WILL PROBABLY NOT CALL YOU BACK BECAUSE MY ESTIMATES ARE PREPARED WITH DETAIL AND ACCURACY FOR BOTH THE HOMEOWNER AND THE INSURANCE COMPANY AND ARE BASED ON A WHOLE LOT MORE THAN PRICE. I HAVE BEEN BACK LOGGED DUE TO THE AMOUNT OF DAMAGE IN THE AREA AND COMPLAINTS ABOUT MY COMPANY ARE FROM PEOPLE WHOM HAVE NEVER EVEN HAD ANY WORK DONE BECAUSE THEY ARE TOO IMPATIENT, PLEASE NOTICE THE REPORTS FROM CUSTOMERS THAT HAVE HAD WORK DONE. MY PROCEDURE FOR THE HURRICANE DAMAGE IS TO MAKE SURE THAT YOUR ROOF AND SIDING IS WEATHERPROOF AND THEN I WILL PREPARE A DETAILED ESTIMATE TO SUBMIT TO THE INSURANCE COMPANY.

I understand I was only giving them 2 days to get an estimate back at a very busy roofing time, but they didn't even try to get back with me within 3-4 days!
Description of Work: I called this company for an estimate on our 3100 sq ft house and detached garage in early October. They came out on Oct 15. The guy who came out was very nice, took pictures of the outside of the house and said he would get with the owner to get us a quote because it was such a big job and our roof is steep. I told him I would like the estimate by the end of the week, which only gave them 2 days, but I needed to get all of my bids in and make a decision. He said he would get back with me. I still have not heard from him weeks later.

SOME PEOPLE HAVE NO IDEA OF THE IMPACT THAT THIS STORM TOOK ON THIS CITY, I HAVE BEEN WORKING 24/7 SINCE 9/14 (DAY OF THE STORM). MY MAIN CONCERN WAS TO WEATHERPROOF ALL ROOFS THAT I LOOKED AT SO THEY WOULD NOT LEAK DURING THE WINTER. IF I WAS TOLD I HAD TWO DAYS TO GET HER ESTIMATE I WOULD HAVE TOLD I'M SORRY BUT I WON'T BE ABLE TO GET IT DONE. THERE ARE ONLY SO MANY ESTIMATORS. IF YOU WANT IT DONE QUICK USE THE STORM CHASERS. I THINK YOU WILL FIND THAT MY CUSTOMERS WHO HAVE PATIENCE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULTS, I'M SORRY I WAS NOT AS FAST AS YOU WOULD HAVE LIKED, I NEVER REPLACE QUALITY FOR QUANTITY!! REMEMBER IF THERE ARE COMPANIES WAITING FOR YOUR CALL THERE IS A REASON!!!

We were shocked when his price was about $3,000 less than the other bids and called to ask what was up. Dan came out again to explain his bid completely showing us what the differences were and what it meant. The roof was completed the middle of July except for hooking up the fan. That was delayed since the weather made it too hot for the electrician to get up in the attic. The roof looks great and held up during the hurricane winds (a good thing as we went to the USC game). We didn't lose a single shingle.
Description of Work: We had an aging roof replaced. Hat vents were replaced with newer venting system, including a roof fan. They also fabricated and installed a replacement piece of siding damaged in a storm.

We contacted Dan Hebble directly on the Wednesday following the wind storm and he came out and gave us a very detailed and professional estimate on replacing our entire roof. He was the most expensive of the 5 bids we had received but by far was the most professional. Our roof was replaced 2 weeks later. It took 2 days. They took care of the surrounding landscape with little damage and even put up with our little barking dog! They cleaned everything up before they left. Dan Hebble came out a few days later to inspect the job and take care of a few loose ends. All in all a positive experience.

After the blizzard on 3/8, we had an active roof leak right afterwards. I called three people from Angie's List to get estimates for roof repair. Dan was one of the first to respond by coming to the house and walking all over and thoroughly inspecting the roof. He made several good suggestions to get a few more years out of the shingles. I told him we had a couple other people scheduled to come out and give us estimates and I said we would be in touch. We finally received his estimate on 3/26, I had just sent a reminder email the day before and received it in the mail on 3/26. My husband called to talk to him about the work on the estimate and wanted to schedule a day to start work before signing the contract. Dan said he would get back with him to discuss the schedule. My husband called Dan repeatedly to find out a day he could start throughout the month of April and no phone calls were returned. In our serious situation, we had an active roof leak, we decided to contract another roofer to repair the roof. Dan finally called us back in mid May to schedule a date after we had the roof leak repaired. Dan has since sent us a bill for restocking fees and delivery charges of $160 for the two valleys for work that was never contracted. We are not responsible for his lack of attention or his restocking fees. We NEVER signed a contract for work from this company. We had to repair the roof leak to our house.
Description of Work: Only an estimate was given to replace two valleys, underlayment and shingle work. Some step flashing and repair to the chimney also to install an attic fan.

I THINK THAT YOU CAN TELL FROM MY OTHER REPORTS THAT I DON'T SEND OUT FRAUDULENT INVOICES TO MY CUSTOMERS AND IF I DID IT WOULD BE FOR MORE THAN $160, THESE ARE EXPENSES FOR TIME AND MATERIAL THAT I HAVE PAID FOR OUT OF MY OWN POCKET FOR THE REPAIRS THAT WERE APPROVED BY THEM. My first encounter did not go well, as I did not get a call back. I reported the non-response. This was when I learned the value of my Angie's List membership, as I received a call from Dan Hebble, who had been contacted by Angie's List. He apologized for the slip and asked if my work had been done. Since I was still evaluating estimates, I agreed to his request to give me an estimate. He arrived, right on time, did a complete analysis of my roof and suggested the gutter covers since I have so many trees around the house. He faxed over a very complete and professional estimate, which was right on target with what I was hoping to spend. I had other estimates, one quite a bit higher. I called him and agreed to the job. I was told there would be about a week or two delay, as there were pending jobs. Then, I received a call telling me that they were shooting for the following Tuesday. On Monday I received a confirming call and early Tuesday morning the crew arrived. The lead worker introduced himself, explained what they would do and got to work. Later, Dan arrived to supervise the progress. The crew put in close to 12 hours and left. They returned the next day to finish the job. Dan again came and went up on the roof to inspect all of the work. After making some minor adjustments, it was judged to be completed to his satisfaction. Then they did the gutters, first cleaning them. This part required a return on the third day for a couple of hours to complete. At that time they also cleaned all of my sky lights. They were very thorough in cleaning up and making certain that no nails were left behind.
Description of Work: Had a new roof put on after the old one was torn off and had gutter covers installed.
