I called the company after receiving a Valpak mailer advertising a $38.95 whole house cleaning. We originally scheduled for the following week, but the company called back minutes later to say they had a "supervisor" in the area and would I like to have the cleaning done that afternoon. I originally declined citing afternoon plans, but they reassured me the supervisor could come quickly. The supervisor arrived on time with his "trainee" who began working immediately. They cut access panels and brought all their equipment in before an estimate was provided, nearly one hour after their arrival. There were no unit prices listed on the estimate page - all prices were written in by hand. The original estimate included services far beyond simple air duct cleaning including a UV lighting system and sanitizer which totaled $2131.82. I declined all services beyond the above mentioned, explaining that this was already much more than I expected to spend based on the advertised mailer price. Approximately 2 hours into the job, my living room filled with a mushroom cloud of dust. My children were sitting on the sofa watching television and began to scream and run because they thought our house was on fire. I ran to the basement to inform the "supervisor" of the issue. He came upstairs and promptly replied, "that's not supposed to happen." He offered no way to correct the problem/remove the dust, and went back to work saying "we can help you clean that up later." I was left breathing in clouds of dust, shooing away my children to prevent them from inhaling the dust while I opened doors/windows, set-up fans, vacuumed and dusted up the mess. Neither the supervisor or his trainee made any effort to assist in the clean-up. The supervisor later went outside on a phone call. He came back inside saying he had talked to his boss about the cloud of dust and could offer me the "opportunity" to have my A/C coil cleaned at a discounted price of $150 (vs the original estimate price of $179.99 which I had already declined), since his trainee needed to learn how to do it. I again declined. I called the company a few days after this mess to express my frustration with the owner. I was told "he was not in" and my name and number were taken. I never received a return call. I called again today and mentioned that I was even more frustrated with their lack of communication and planned to post a review on Angie's List if I did not receive return correspondence within 24 hours. I was again told that the manager was not in, but "he" would be in by noon. At 3, I received a call from a woman named Amber. She said she has to send a supervisor out to inspect the system again to "see that it is properly cleaned." I don't find this necessary given the fact that a supervisor was the one who cleaned the system in the first place. I requested a partial refund to avoid wasting any more of my time. She stated that she couldn't do anything without an inspection of the system, and that this problem was not worth $212. Given the "half-a**" job that was performed, I feel a 50% refund is very appropriate. However, it appears that this company has no respect for the value of their customer's time and satisfaction and does not intend to correct any mistakes unless threatened with social media exposure which will prevent them from preying on other families.
