Central Ohio Affordable Appliances

We encountered numerous delays on the closing of our house, but once set, I reached out to the company to schedule delivery of the purchased appliances. I was told they needed at least a days notice, so on 11/19/15 I asked if they could bring the items out on 11/24/15. This was confirmed, so I made arrangements to be at the house, almost an hour away. Other services were being provided that day and I arrived at the house at 8am. I reached out a couple of times, through text messaging, asking for a time for the delivery, but received no response. By 1:00pm, I called to get an update and was told by Denise that she had to check with the owner and would text me once she knew. At 3:00pm I'd still not heard anything and sent another text message, stating I was finishing up around 4:30 and was told unsure of time. I asked how late they would potentially come and was told that her husband sometimes does it after work. At 5:00 I sent another text indicating I could stay until 6:00pm at the latest, but never heard back from anyone. I ended up leaving that evening at 7:30pm with no word from them. On the morning of Monday, November 30th I sent another text message that my husband would be at the house again on Tuesday, December 1st, if someone could bring the items then. By Tuesday evening, since I'd not gotten any word from them, I purchased alternative items from a local retailer, with delivery scheduled for Friday. Wednesday evening (4:47pm), I received a text message asking if I was available. I responded that I made other accomodations and no longer needed these items. I also requested that a refund be issued ASAP, since it took them so long to respond to any attempt I had made to get my items. After waiting 16 days, with no response to my request for a refund, I asked for the status, as it had not yet appeared on my credit card account. A lengthy text was sent to me, stating the reason they were unable to issue a refund and when was I planning to pick up the items I had purchased. I immediately contacted my credit card company to dispute the charge, filed a complaint with the Attorney General's office, the Better Business Bureau and here. Another text was received on 12/30/15 that indicated if I didn't pick up my items by 1/6/16, they would be forfeited! My disabled child has medications that require refrigeration and I had to make sure these could be held safely upon moving into our new home. This business has horrendous customer service skills and should be ashamed of how they treated me in this situation. If I had the means of picking up the items, I wouldn't have made arrangements to have them delivered, a service they offered for an additional fee. I gave them more than 4 days notice to bring them to me and they were not able to meet this obligation. I don't want to see other consumers go through the same hassles.
