American Air

I've used them for 20 years and I'm happy with their service. Their people are wonderful and that makes a difference in whether you like a company or not. The price has gone up, but I've also used them for 20 years, so I would expect that. Their quality of service is excellent and they are right here when I contact them.

They are very reliable. They are punctual. Mike is the main person that comes out, and he has really worked hard to solve any problems with the system, and with that kind of perseverance you really stay with a company like that.

Okay. It was nice they have the part on their truck.

Overall, we've had really good experiences with American Air both times they came out.

They were great! The first time we called, we didn't get a response. We waited for a week and no one called back, so we called them again and got a hold of someone to come out. The sales person who came for the air conditioner was very knowledgeable and he gave us a great price. He worked by himself for 6 hours. He was very polite, professional, and nice. There was a two man team who came to replace the furnace. They were here for four hours and were very quick, efficient, and did a really good job.

They are super nice and friendly. I feel like I can trust them. They almost seam like a family now because I've used them for so long. I never have complaints and they always answered all of my questions.

Estimator and installer were both on time and professional. The work was completed in the time allotted.

The tech showed up during the agreed interval and fixed the problem within minutes (a failed relay). My feeling is that I was charged much more for the part than I could have bought it for myself, but I recognize that American Air deserves some compensation for having the part in stock on the truck so they could fix the problem immediately. I have use their service contract program in the past, and re-enrolled again this time.

We've had their pre-paid ($138) service contract for many years. Each season they came and inspected the system and said it was working fine. However, this fall, a new specialist came and said that neither our electronic filter system nor our humidifier had worked for years. I was left wondering how we had so many 100% functioning reports in the past. The worker quoted me some $750 to replace them both, but they would do it for $678 if I had both jobs done at the same time. This felt like a high price to me, but after a few days I agreed to have the new filter and humidifier replaced. A third specialist came to do the work. He said that the replacements were not needed, but he could repair what we already have. He did that, and we paid them $189. Works great now. All three of these specialists are very nice guys, but I'm still puzzled by the conflicting diagnoses and reports of inspections.

WE HAVE REPLACED A VARIETY OF PARTS WITH THEM. THEY ARE RESPECTFUL AND PROFESSIONAL.

American Air did a decent job. The problem was not the work but getting them to show up and do the work. Often they would work for a day and not return for several days.

This is a great option. It keeps me from having to remember to have my furnace and AC checked. Our last check included Freon for no charge. In the past, they have recommended better filters for the furnace. I'd rather pay for a regular check up than find myself without heat in the middle of January for a maintenance problem that could have been avoided!

I HAD A PROBLEM WITH MY FURNACE. THEY SAID IT NEEDED A NEW MOTOR AND A FAN. IT WAS ABOUT $600.00. I ASKED ABOUT A NEW FURNACE, AND HE QUOTED $5000.00 TO $6000.00 DEPENDING ON THE UNIT. CHOSE SOMEONE ELSE THAT IS HALF THE COST. I CALLED BACK AND REQUESTED A REFUND ON THE REMAINDER OF THE PAYMENT I HAD MADE FOR THE SPRING AND FALL MAINTENANCE. I WAS REFERRED TO THE ACCOUNTANT, WHO STATED THEY DON'T GIVE REFUNDS. I REREAD MY CONTRACT, AND IT DOES NOT SAY THAT ANYWHERE IN IT. I CALLED BACK AND CALLED THEM ON THIS POINT, AND THEY STILL HAVE YET TO CALL ME BACK W/ A RESPONSE. the company did offer a refund to the member.

Dan was on time and was great. He even got along with the dog. He was very helpful and thorough and showed us how to maintain some of the items ourselves.

I contacted American Air on Tuesday, July 11, 2006. I was referred to a Terry Nelson, and directed to his voice-mail. I left a detailed message, including my name, telephone number, and that the matter concerned a whole-house fan. My call was not returned. I telephoned again on Thursday, July 13, 2006. I explained that my call had not been returned, and was told that Terry Nelson would be told of my call. Neither Terry Nelson, nor anyone else connected with American Air, ever called me back. I hired another company and the work was completed in a half-day. On July 20, 2006, I sent a letter to American Air President Stephen Sliemers, and copied it to Angie's List. I requested a written explanation and apology from American Air, and from Terry Nelson. I have not been contacted by either Stephen Sliemers or Terry Nelson. I am surprised and disappointed by the lack of courtesy and professionalism from American Air. I will never hire this company.

Job 1: IT SEEMED LIKE NO MATTER WHAT I DID THE TEMPERATURE STAYED A 65 DEGREES. I CALLED THEM, AND THEY CAME OUT FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. THE GUY WAS SO INFORMED. HE CHECKED EVERYTHING, THEN, BASICALLY TOLD ME, THAT IN THIS AREA THAT THE EFFICIENCY IS DOWN FOR THE AGE OF THE FURNACE. HE DIDN'T TRY TO SELL IT TO ME. AND, THEY DIDN'T CHARGE ME ANYTHING! Job 2:No comments. Job 3: At first we couldn't find where it was. The tech cleaned out the drain pipes and couldn't find the problem. Then it started leaking again. He went up into the attic and found the problem. He tried to fix it but it didn't work the first time. We had hoped he had solved it but it started leaking again later. I called him and he called back around 10pm Sunday night before Memorial Day. He said they would try to get out the next day. He came out and he reconstructed the entire drain system and now I have a working system. He spent about 3 hours in a 130 degree attic.

INSTALLATION WAS VERY COMPLETE. THE INSTALLER WAS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND TIMELY IN HIS WORK. THE PRICING WAS VERY COMPETITIVE WITH OTHER COMPANIES. WE WILL PURCHASE A FURNACE FROM THEM AS WELL. VERY HAPPY WITH THEIR SERVICE.

JOB 1: MARK WAS VERY NICE AND KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE ARRIVED AT THE SCHEDULED TIME AND MADE ALL THE INFORMATION, HE GAVE ME, EASY TO UNDERSTAND. WE'LL HAVE THEM BACK NEXT YEAR.

THE TWO YOUNG MEN ARRIVED @ 2PM AND INSTALLED NEW AC, DID A GREAT JOB, OUR OLD UNIT HAD SHUT DOWN AT 10PM 7/25. THESE YOUNG MEN INSTALLED NEW UNIT IN EXTREME TEMPERATURES INSIDE AND OUT. JOB COMPLETED BY 6:30PM.

THE SERVICE WAS THE HIGHEST, AND THEIR PRICE WAS DEAD IN THE CENTER OF SIX BIDS. THEIR SERVICE TECHS ARE ALWAYS NICE AND PROFESSIONAL, AND WILLING TO TAKE THAT EXTRA STEP TO MAKE IT THE BEST SERVICE.

I HAVE DEALT WITH AMERICAN AIR (FORMERLY W/AQUADUCT) FOR MANY YEARS. WILL CONTINUE TO DO SO. (I SHOULD HAVE WRITTEN THIS SOONER) - HAVE A MAINTENANCE POLICY WITH THEM.

HE WAS VERY GOOD AND VERY HELPFUL. I ASKED HIM HOW TO CHANGE THE FILTER AND HE WAS VERY HELPFUL. HE HASN'T LEFT A FURNACE FILTER LIKE HE SAID HE WOULD SO I NEED TO CALL HIM.

TRIED TO SELL US A NEW FURNACE. WE HAD TO CALL ANOTHER COMPANY TO REPAIR THEIR WORK AND IT WAS THE WORST SERVICE EXPERIENCE WE EVER HAD.

THEY SELECTED THE RIGHT UNIT, GAVE ME GOOD OPTIONS AND EXPLAINED THINGS CLEARLY. THEY WERE VERY FLEXIBLE. WE ARE VERY PLEASED WITH OUR NEW FURNACE.
