Very Well. They were prompt and helpful. We would have preferred our traps to be away from the front door of our business but they explained this is where the raccoons were climbing up on our roof.

Communication was a little foggy at first as I had the wrong text number (different from their business phone number), I was told to text all my name, address etc to wrong number, not sure if it was my error or theirs to be honest, but I did not see any trap set, so I emailed them a few days later and then I received a call and we got it straightened out. They set up the trap while I was at work, which was convenient. The trap caught a raccoon and two possums, but not my annoying groundhog, so I asked them to come get the trap so I didn't keep racking up fees (per animal). Met the owner and grandson on one trip to the house and were very nice. I was not sure how to pay once they took the trap, they left no bill-I received an invoice in the mail a few days later with the cost and their address. I assumed you could pay with a credit card, but apparently it is check only.

It went great. They were wonderful to work with. They were very responsive and took care of everything in a timely manner.

They trapped 4 raccoons that were in my attic. I had tried for a month and couldn't get one. They came the same day I called and set up two traps and over a period of about a week they got them. You pay a set up charge and the by the raccoon. Great company. Great guys.

We had been hearing noises in our wall on Sunday from an animal that appeared to be trapped in the wall. The sound was coming from over our heads, in the space between the first floor ceiling and the floor of the second floor. By Monday the scratching sounds were becoming more frantic, and the animal had found a way down into the wall behind our refrigerator. I called Affordable Animal Control that morning and received a call back about an hour and a half later. He said he was working on other calls but would try to be out that afternoon. By early afternoon I could hear a scratching sound by the water line in the wall behind the fridge, and saw something trying to pull at the drywall crack around the water line. I was worried we'd have a wild animal loose in the house, so I called again to provide an update. He said he was currently at another house but would come over right after that. He showed up about half an hour later, explained costs up front and let me know he'd need to cut a small hole in the drywall to trap the animal. He also explained that he doesn't repair drywall but could provide a referral for someone who could do those repairs. He cut a small hole in the drywall behind the fridge and held the trap up to the hole. After a minute or so, a bird poked its head through the hole, and then walked out into the trap. He then replaced the square of drywall and taped it in place, recommending we not have it repaired for a few days in case the bird had a mate that went looking for it. He also provided advice on how the bird got in (through our dryer vent) and recommended replacing the vent hose when we get the chance, as well as finding a way to prevent the birds from getting into the vent. Overall I was very pleased with the service and would recommend Affordable Animal Control to others.

He is not licensed to do the extermination but that is something we could easily do ourselves.

Called him up, said he had a few stops ahead of us, but then he was here within a couple of hours. We had a young raccoon sleeping on the floor of the attached garage, probably sick & attracted by dry cat food in there. Jerry removed him, with no difficulty. Unfortunately, the 'c*** crapped, which required us to spend a lot of time cleaning up the floor, but I don't consider that Jerry's fault. We are very satisfied with his service, and wouldn't hesitate to use him again.

Jerry responded the same day of my call and brought out a trap. Over two weeks, he caught several rodents/vermin, including a skunk that I was glad to let him deal with. Also caught 3 groundhogs that have been annoying us for some time; hopefully have gotten them all. Jerry was a pro in all aspects of his service; would certainly use them again.

Called the service on Tuesday, trap was set that afternoon and the animal was caught by Friday. Great service, great response, very reliable. I used them about a year ago to get racoons which were getting into the attic. I would use them again. It's $95 to set the trap and $59 per animal caught. You have to check the trap every morning and tell them if it is empty.

Great job! I called Affordable Animal Control-----614-539-9400----on Sunday, August 2, 2015, about a persistent groundhog in our yard. Owner/operator Jerry Barker answered the phone. He came out to our house a couple of hours after I called, & set a trap. After a few days we had no "catch" so Jerry came back Thursday, August 6, & moved the trap to another area in the yard. He figured out the path of the groundhog. He also changed the bait by adding some fresh bananas & apples.. The groundhog was trapped on Saturday, August 8, and Jerry came back promptly on Saturday to remove it. Jerry was knowledgeable----has been doing this for 20 years---prompt, & most of all, ACCESSIBLE. He personally answered the phone nearly every time I called, no matter what time of day or night. When I asked Jerry what his "hours" were, he said "animals don't have business hours or take weekends off. So we do whatever it takes, on whatever days it takes----weekends included, to get the job done." If I ever have need for this service again, I would absolutely call Jerry Barker at Affordable Animal Control do the job. He knows what he's doing.

Jerry actually was not my first choice, but I'm very glad I found him. I had already called A All Animal Control of Columbus several times trying to make an appointment, because their ad mentioned "relocation," and I was hoping the groundhog could be removed without having to kill it. I was able to speak with the operator at A All Animal Control, but the technicians were busy, so I tried again early the next morning and ended up in voicemail. On my third attempt the operator transferred me to voice mail again. On my fourth try I left a message in voicemail, but never got a call back. I still haven't heard from them to this day. I read Jerry's reviews on Angie's List, and decided to call him, because he seemed honest and reasonable. I knew from my research that sometimes a groundhog can do extensive damage to a home's foundation, and I had also seen that some animal control websites made it sound as if any groundhog removal necessitated expensive preventive measures to avoid future problems. I was a bit leery of any service provider who seemed to assume that this was the rule rather than the exception. Three things impressed me about Jerry when we spoke on the phone. First, that he took time to discuss the situation in detail, without knowing whether or not I was actually going to hire him--or anyone else-- to remove the groundhog. I was wondering if perhaps I could let it stick around without risking any major problems. I actually like wildlife, and was hoping we might be able to coexist. Jerry explained -without a hard sell--what I could expect if the groundhog stayed around. Second, he volunteered that he would have to euthanize it if he caught it for me, because of the laws regarding nuisance wildlife. A groundhog released out in the country is a hazard for livestock, and obviously you can't release it in anyone else's backyard. I appreciated his honesty, and the fact that he took time to explain the law. Third, he also volunteered that in his experience, it was actually rare for a groundhog to damage the foundation of a home. I thought it over and decided I just was not willing to be the reason my neighbors ended up with groundhogs too, so I called him the next day and asked him if he could come out the following morning. Normally Jerry will come on each successive day to check and reset the trap, but he explained that if we wanted to handle it ourselves that would be fine, as long as we called every day to let him know we had checked it already. I appreciated knowing he was concerned about an animal that might stay in the trap longer than necessary, and that he wanted to avoid this. He showed my partner how to operate the trap himself, so we could close it every night to avoid catching a possum or raccoon. He even arranged some wood scraps that were sitting on the patio over the top of the cage so the little critter would have some protective shade if it got too hot. I offered to pay him before he left, but he said he'd rather wait until we caught it...and added that we might not, in which case he would only charge his initial fee to come out and set the trap. I was confident we'd get the groundhog that same day, as he had been hanging around the porch most of the week, and was a young one, and I expected him to walk right into the trap when he emerged from under the porch. As it turned out, my hunch was correct. We had our groundhog a couple of hours later. I called Jerry back, and as luck would have it, he was able to swing by almost right away, and he got the little guy in his truck just before the thunderstorm cut loose. I was grateful for that, as I felt bad enough already for having to be the reason the groundhog's life was cut short. If he had sat in that cage in the rain, I would have felt horrible. I know it's not always possible for someone to be there the minute you need them, but I think Jerry's basic decency and good character had more than a little to do with it. Anyone who bothers to provide shade for a creature he knows he will have to kill before the day is over has a good heart. My initial impression turned out to be right on target. I would heartily recommend Jerry to anyone.

.Jerry is very easy to work with, always pleasant and very helpful. He's responsive to questions and to calls that let him know something is in the trap. He demonstrated patience by giving me time to be sure all the varmints had been removed. He gave me a discount for being on Angie's list. He was most fair in his dealings and I would recommend him to anyone. I would not hesitate to use his services again.

After many attempts on our own to convince the raccoon(s) that the corner foundation of our home was an unsuitable latrine site for them, I turned to Angie's List and found Jerry Barker and Affordable Animal Control, Inc. THANK GOODNESS! My husband asked a coworker if he had any suggestions for dealing with coons, his response was "MOVE!" Thanks to Jerry Barker, his experience, expertise and professionalism ... we won't have to. I gave Jerry a call and explained our problem and frustrations. Jerry explained upfront, and over the phone during our initial conversation, his fee schedule. Very reasonable; made even more so by the fact that if we were willing to check the trap each morning and report to Jerry between sunrise and 9:00 a.m. each day whether anything had been trapped or not it would save us $40 a day. Can't beat a deal like that! We very much appreciate that Jerry adheres to Ohio's laws governing trapping and removal of critters. Jerry came ASAP each day to remove the catch from our backyard and leave a newly set trap. My husband and I couldn't be more pleased or more appreciative of the service provided us by Affordable Animal Control, Inc. Jerry came to my house within a hour of my call. At first we were not sure what kind of animal was caught in the wall but it sure wanted to come out by the noise it was making! After the source of entry was determined, Jerry thought it had to be a bird and he was right. I never thought I would be sitting on my couch waiting for a bird to come out of a hole in my wall but it was April Fool's Day after all. It finally made it's appearance in about 20 minutes. Jerry provided me with company to come fix the hole and close the point of entry so it would not happen again. Really glad I choose Affordable Animal Control and highly recommend it to those who need that service.

I discovered the hole on Monday and called AAC. Jerry brought the trap on Tuesday morning. After a few days nothing had been captured, so he suggested that I fill in the hole with loose dirt and watch for signs of more digging. There were none, so after waiting a few more days he returned to remove the trap. I paid the basic charge for delivering and setting the trap. There would have been an additional animal removal charge if anything had been caught. Also, I was responsible for calling in a status report every morning. Otherwise there would have been a charge for someone to come and check the trap.

I had been hearing something running around behind the wall in my son's bedroom for about a week. I called Affordable Animal Care on a Saturday night and Jerry was out the next afternoon. He inspected the property and got up on the roof. He found the point of entry and set traps out for the squirrels that had been getting into our rafters. He also looked in our attic to make sure the squirrels weren't getting inside. The first 2 days we caught squirrels and haven't had a problem since. He even recommended someone to fix the hole where the animals were getting in. Jerry is very professional and knows his business well! Great to deal with!

The provider met me at the property inside the agreed upon time range. He had got there ahead of me to apply bleach to reduce odor and kill maggots. He bundled the remains into plastic to remove for proper disposal. He billed the agreed upon price, which we had discussed over the phone.

They caught more squirrels. They did not charge me for all the squirrels. He was very nice. He said, "These are the rules. If you don't call me and tell me if there is any squirrels in the trap, we have to go out and check." So, I worked with my tenant. They got the squirrels out. He was really easy to work with, very nice. He sent me a bill. I didn't have to pay in advance or anything. It was all real good, a very good experience.

On Thursday morning, I discovered that raccoons had just dug a hole in my roof -- through several layers of shingles, an inch of wood and a lot of loose insulation-- into my attic. While I was describing this to my neighbor that evening, he saw a raccoon climb out of the only flue on my chimney that I hadn't capped and it just sat there. I knew that raccoons regularly visited my roof (to eat acorns falling from my oak tree). I emailed that same evening three different providers that I found on Angie's List. The next morning, Jerry from AAC was the first to respond AND he answered all of my questions about pricing up front. He was by far the least expensive of the three providers. He was at my house by 9 a.m. on Friday. He inspected my attic and chimney and discovered the raccoons had been living in my basement fireplace (which I never use) and had access to my basement. He could also tell where they had been crawling up my vinyl siding and had been running around in my empty attic. He set three traps and showed me how to operate them if my cats or neighborhood squirrels entered them by mistake (which they did). We caught two raccoons and a possum in just five nights (and it rained buckets on one of those nights). He ultimately didn't charge me for the possum or capping my chimney (when I bought the cap myself). He also taped a plastic bag over the chimney flue to see if a raccoon broke it to get in or out. It was broken the first night, but then we also caught a large male raccoon. He re-taped the bag and it was never broken again, which is why we knew we could cap the chimney without trapping the animal myself.

I discovered a dead opossum on my back patio at around 9:30pm on a Thursday night. Because dead animals cannot be disposed of in the garbage, and it was on private property, not a public city sidewalk or street, I had to call a private company to remove and get rid of it. I called Affordable Animal Control on a Thursday night, around 10pm, informed them of the problem, and he told me that they could be out in the morning to remove the animal. I had to work that day, but he told me that I could leave the gate to my back yard open, and they would come pick it up. I had the option of paying either with my credit card over the phone, with a check or cash left for them day of service, or they could leave an invoice, and I could mail a check to them. They arrived as scheduled, and when I came home on Friday afternoon, the opossum was gone, and my patio looked undisturbed. The gate had been closed as it was when they arrived. I chose to have them leave the invoice, and I mailed them a check the same day. The only reasons for rating the service as a "B" overall are the following: 1. When I called, the person who answered said that they did not have anything to write with, and asked that I call back and leave a voicemail with my name, address, and cell phone number. I thought that for better customer service, he should have taken my information right when I called. They advertise 24t-hour service, afterall. 2. When I was presented with the option of paying with a check that I could leave for them, he told me that the cost would be "$59, plus 7.5% tax." He wanted me to do the math to figure out what I owed him. Of course, I am capable of figuring that out, but it seemed weird for him to charge me that way. I didn't feel comfortable leaving money for them before the work had been completed anyway, so I chose to wait for the invoice--good thing I did. The next day, when I got home and saw the invoice, the charge was actually $54 + tax, for a total of $58.04. If I had paid by leaving my own check, I would have over-paid them. In the end, they did the job that I hired them to do at the time that they said they would do it, and I paid the proper amount, but the customer service portion of the interaction could have been better.

They had done quit a bit of damage. He got rid of them in a humane way so that we could call our roofer and have our roof fixed.
