 + -1 moreOur garage opener started giving the dreaded "6-4" error. We've had it since 2015 so couldn't figure out what was wrong. The folks at 614 worked on it for a couple days. When the parts the replaced ended up not working, they swapped out the unit for a refab and it works flawlessly. Customer service was excellent. We appreciated their honesty and work that they put in to resolve this problem.

 + -1 moreChris went above and beyond to get my garage door functioning properly at a new build home. They installed the opener, a remote keypad and a control. When was the last time you received service above & beyond? If you want that experience, I highly recommend using 614 Garage Door. I've been using them for over 5 years and every time they've taken care of the issue in a timely manner at a reasonable price.
Description of Work: 614GarageDoor installed a garage door opener but couldn't adjust the door to go down all the way because it could have possibly voided the warranty. The garage door needed adjustment but since it was a new build it needed the builder to have the door adjusted. I contacted the builder and they stated that garage door was not a warranted item and they could send someone out in a month for a $175 service charge to look at it. I wanted the door to close because I was concerned about mice or other things getting in the opening. I forwarded the email to Chris from the builder and they saw that it was going to be a month before they'd come out to look at it. Chris called and stated he'd be out the next day to see what needed to be done. He noticed a spring was not balanced, the door was overtightened, it was never lubricated and some other things. He made all the necessary adjustments in 10-15 minutes and the door was now operating properly and was not making loud noises when going up or down due to not being properly aligned. It operates great now and is so quiet. Chris made the needed adjustments at no additional charge since his company installed the garage door opener.

 + -1 moreThe guys from 614 Garage Door were called in when the door simply would not raise or lower as I was showing my house for sale. They swept in, adjusted the spring, installed new rollers, added some backstops (the first panel of the door had fallen out of the tracks on one occasion) and made some other tweaks. After their service, the door worked properly again, ran faster and was a lot quieter (they replaced the ancient metal rollers with the new silicone-coated rollers). They were extremely polite, worked quickly and cleaned up after they were finished. I would give them my highest recommendation and I'm currently trying to sort out how to get my home warranty to pay for them to come in.
Description of Work: The original wood double wide door (that is to say, VERY heavy) had been a problem for a number of years. The opener that was installed by a brand x competitor was far undersized to accomplish the task so the struggle of the opener wasn't a surprise. I'd done some small repairs over the years, but the door was noisy, and frequently would not open or close (would bounce back) and worked VERY slowly.

Description of Work: My garage door came off track and was not secured. i called Chris and he answered right away and was able to come out the same day after i explained the situation and fixed the garage door. he also took a look at the other door and recommended i fix that one was well.  + -1 moreMy garage spring broke on a Thursday. Chris couldn't get to it until Sat afternoon. He apparently is in big demand because he had to delay his apptmt on Saturday, but only by an hour. Chris promptly diagnosed what needed done, accomplished the repair, and tuned up both garage doors in about an hour and a half. He did excellent work and explained everything well. He also helped make adjustments to the door which the original installer never performed 10 years ago. The double door is quiet as can be now. Loved the work!!

Description of Work: Selected 614 Garage Door after receiving their coupon in the mail. Chris took my first call personally and answered my questions. Later that week he followed up with me and scheduled a new garage door opener installation. Chris showed up on time, was knowledgeable of the opener he installed and willingly answered my questions. On his own initiative he lubed my garage door wheels and bearings. I would recommend 614 Garage doors.

 + -1 moreCalled 614 Garage on Monday and they came out to my daughters place for an estimate. Said it would cost $50 more due to being an 8 foot garage door. He came on Wednesday around 1130 and was done by 1:00p.m.. After installing it he told me how to program the keypad - in fact he chose a system that was very user friendly knowing that our last system was very complex. He told me what I needed to do to maintain the system and what to look for if the equipment is to breakdown - not for a long time! Chris was very friendly and I would hire him back in a heartbeat!!!
Description of Work: Chris installed new garage door open system which included openers and keypad and hauled old one away. He inspected door and made some minor adjustments. Sprayed the springs with lubricant.

 + -1 moreMy mother's garage door is going on 25 years old. It had started to make a lot of noise and look a little jumpy when going up and down. Chris came out and took a look at it and told us that it just needed a tune-up and lubrication. Now the door works as smoothly as it did when it was new. My mom told us that she used to be able to stick her head our the front door, hit the garage door opener, and hear whether the door was moving. Now she has to walk out to the garage to make sure the door moved because she can't hear it at all. She said, "It just glides up and down without a sound."
