Went well. We had some miscommunication about the date they were to install the roof, which was partially my fault because I was very persistent that it would be scheduled on a day I was available to be present for the install. Only because I'm nosy, like to get in the way, and learn how things are done. Edgar and his crew showed around sunup, and worked until the roof was done (around 5pm). I was so impressed with their work I decided to get pizza for the entire crew. They had to replace some plywood, remove some old roof vents, and totally rebuild a small section next to a gable end of my roof. (see attached pictures) Luckily I had the lumber needed for the rebuild by the gable end, so they didn't even charge me for it. The clean up was spectacular. They made sure to pick up every nail, shingle, and piece trash within 25' of the foundation of my home. One guy was even picking up cigarette butts that were thrown down by me! Other than a couple dime sized pieces of the old tar paper that I have found, you cant even tell there was a mess here 5 days ago. They tarped the area around the house very well, protecting the grass, my a/c unit, and most importantly, my wife's flowers. I was very pleased with the final product. The edge shingles are cut clean and straight, the horizontal rows are so perfectly lined up. We had a rainstorm the night of the install, not one leak or problem found the next day. Special thanks to Charles Ruh who was the project manager from Spartan Roofing. He was always able to answer my questions, and got back with me within a reasonable amount of time. I'm not easily impressed and I seldom write reviews, but I want to share our experience with this company by giving them a full 5 stars to this company. We had storm damage and 2 roof tear off..which included a bad leak around our chimney. They tore out the bad wood, replaced it and put better roof vents on to keep heat down in our attic area. The team was on time and worked steady completing our roof in one day. The clean up was amazing!! We keep our horse farm really tidy and I was really impressed with how beautiful they left everything...just like they found it...totally!! Our whole experience with Spartan was exceptional. I am a retired Customer Service Manager for a Fortune 500 Company...23 years of managing quality and customer expectations...and to say Spartan met and exceeded my expectations...is the honest truth. Thank you to the Spartan team!!

The roof itself looks to be nice. The process though, that's another story. Frank was great and spent a fair amount of time showing us the product and talking with my wife and I. We agreed to accept the offer and have the roof installed. The crew showed up a couple days later (Tuesday) they worked a 13 hour shift, this is only a roof over, not a tear off on a 25(ish)sq roof. They were still working when I came home at 5:30pm. I came home just in time to find that they were about to reuse an extremely rotten 2x4 on a little porch roof they were suppose to replace the decking on. This board was WAY beyond any usable status. I provided them a 2x4 out of my shed and asked that they please replace the rotten one. This seemed to put the crew in a sour mood towards me. I continued to hang out and watch my large investment go on. The attitude of the crew improved when I helped them clean up some and get them home to their families. The job was not completed that day. The crew cleaned up their tools and the tarps that held some scraps. They said "Tomorrow is suppose to be a rain out, we'll see you Thursday" It never rained the next day. When I text Frank, he says he did not know the crew did not work despite the rain not coming in. So a day wasted. The crew did not show up till after 11am on Thursday. Watching the crew from my security cameras from work, they got rained on but continued to work. They finished and left before I got home. This is when I find 4 huge oil stains in my driveway, Nails with neon green tabs (easy to spot) in the driveway, the porch was left covered in sawdust and wood chips from the little porch tear off section. The yard around the porch was also covered in wood chips and nails. There was cigarette butts all over my yard and driveway. There was wads of plastic bags left in the gutters from the shingle packs. There was hands full of shingle pieces and misc trash in the gutters. There is a 12x12x2" deep divot right in my front yard from the deliver truck outrigger to deliver the materials to the roof. My neighbors report that the crew was screaming and yelling at each other on my roof and acting unprofessional. I called Frank and Ben out to survey the mess. They left me feeling that they were genuinely concerned about these issues. They cleaned up some of what they could before leaving. But here we are a week later and nobody has been back out to clean up or make things right. The roof itself looks ok, I got the roof I paid for. But the cleanup and professionalism of the crew is what brought this review to this point. My neighbors wont be calling Spartan.
