1st Impressions

Worked with John and his crew a few years ago in 2012. Spent a significant amount of money on a paver patio with Kichler LED lights. The lights were expensive and under warranty for 15-years. I was told personally by John that *if they ever fail, just call and we will be over to replace them*. In March of 2018 I called and reported a light that was failing. John told me to put a piece of blue painters tape on it and that although they were busy, would be over as soon as they could. Over the next few months I followed-up with him as the light then completely failed. He guaranteed me that the light is still covered under the Kichler warranty but that they have been so busy that they have not been able to be out to replace. I asked if he would at least be able to get to it before the snow flies in 2018 as it was already October, and he said *yes, just give me your cell phone number again*. Never heard from him or his crew. In March of 2019 I started contacting him again as the blue painters tape is still on the failed light. I tried texting his cell phone and left him 2-3 messages on his answering machine at the main number of his office. It is May 22, 2019, and he has yet to even acknowledge that I called him or have an open issue. Finally, this past weekend I reached out to his vendor that he used to purchase my Kichler lights from, and they honored the warranty. I ended up pulling and replacing the light myself, but the light was at least replaced at no unit cost. While the crew was here and working they did a nice job. I paid for many lunches for them and treated his crew with absolute respect. I even left a cooler full of drinks out in the yard each day before I left for work for the crew as the summer was brutal that year. I opened my yard and patio up for any number of people that he wanted to bring over to show as a reference for sales that he was working on. This is the respect and courtesy I got in return. Very poor professionalism on Johns part. He knows better than to behave like this. He literally ignores the calls. Did not even bother to call me back and say, *sorry, been beyond busy, but we did not forget you*. Even though it has been 14-months and you would think that even the busiest teams would have found time to work in a light repair, I could have been given the courtesy of a reply. Very poor, John!

Our front entrance and stair stone project was very important to enhance the front of our Victorian house, and 1st Impressions exceeded expectations across the board. From the initial design concept (Jake Micelli was great) to the actual work (Keith, Kelly, and Chris are consummate professionals) to the follow up and customer service, John and Jake did a masterful job. As someone experienced in construction and customer satisfaction for 45 years, my expectations were high, and 1st Impressions didn't fail me. They followed up on the "little things" at the end of the project and left us with a fantastic result that our neighbors are still complimenting us on. And 1st Impressions made it clear they would be in touch in the Spring as a follow-up to any issues or touchup. True professionals. My wife and I are already talking about more LED lighting in the planters and a possibly a patio in the back of the house next year. Thanks again 1st Impressions!

The crew was very talented and courteous. The project took way to long. It was estimated to take 3 to 4 weeks and ended up taking a little over 8 weeks. The weather was not the issue, the main issue was certain materials were on back log at their supplier.

In on Wednesday to view the proposed project, and done on Saturday. Fast, courteous, and professional. Highly recommended!

From start to finish 1st impressions did a terrific job with our new paver patio, steps and walkway. The professional manner in which the quote was presented by Jake Miceli (lead designer) along with design photos and honest response to the timeframe of our project was just the beginning of a great experience. The crew that did our project were not only professional, knowledgeable and friendly but also extremely consciencious of leaving the site neat and tidy after each work day. john and his crew removed our old deck and patio pad. replacedi it with a new pad. the work was professional, his crew was knowledgable and professional. they left the yard as it was cleaning up after the work was complete. we are very happy.

John either answered his cell or called back in a timely fashion. All of the crew were very friendly and competent. John kept in contact with us through the entire process, He planned a very nice variety of shrubs, trees and flowers, We also had them install a privacy screen which turned out to be just what we needed. We also decided to go with the lighting system and that added a very nice final touch to our yard.

Absolutely outstanding job. From start to finish can't say enough. John came out with some ideas and suggestions and they turned out to be perfect. There is nothing I would change. John and his crew were great to work with.

John is highly professional and motivated to do a good job for you. His crews are trained, hardworking and do a great job cleaning up when complete. I was impressed from the overall coordination of the project and the time frame on which it was completed. 1st Impressions also do the little things that really make a difference; applying pre-emergent before the mulch, a good thick layer of mulch, padded down edges, etc. The overall design was great. Our project was to tear out everything (Trees Rocks, bushes, etc..) and create something new and different. They did it - and it is very good. We are happy would recommend 1st Impressions.

1st Impressions leaves a lasting impression. I seldom take the time to provide this type of feedback, but the astounding work done by 1st Impressions in providing me with a new patio for my property has left me beyond satisfied and has exceeded every expectation. I thought I was bargaining for a pleasing and functional extension of our landscaping. What I got was a well designed and beautifully built masterpiece. Even in the bid process, 1st Impressions immediately took the lead over their competitors. This was the only company that really looked at our existing structure and outdoor space, and offered us an overall design with features that incorporated the right pavers, and design elements such as a sitting wall, flower beds, and built-in lighting, that resulted with a strong architectural addition to our home.. The staff was consistent in their approach. We were given guidance and provided with options, so that we got as much help as we needed, but we always were left with a feeling that we were in charge. While we were in the design phase we had the opportunity to benefit from computer modelling, and ample exposure to samples of the material options. Any detail we needed while we were in the decision making process, was deftly provided by knowledgeable and engaged personnel. Once it was time to come off the drawing board, we felt that the construction process yielded a result that was not only beautiful, but would be around for a very long time. Our backyard was regarded, solving some problems we have had for a while. Then came the laying of the limestone, followed by a full concrete slab, to establish a solid foundation for the Unilock pavers. With the structure, thoroughly supported, the staff laid the pavers. They worked like true artisans Every miter cut and curve was done with expertise so that no detail was neglected. It is wonderful to walk around the patio and see each piece that so carefully cut and laid. My strong recommendation for this company is not for their benefit. I hope that other consumers and homeowners will give themselves the opportunity to share the happy result we have achieved.

Lets wait til the grass actually sprouts...Owner has mentioned that it may need more fertilizer. If thats the case hopefully the contractor does what is needed !

Being a do-it-yourselfer I decided to remove our deck of 25 years and replace it with a stone-paved patio, so my wife and I contacted 1st Impressions for an estimate. John and Jake came to the house and provided us with an in-depth plan along with an explanation of the hows and whys of its implementation and cost. Their crew arrived on time each day and listened to our numerous suggestions. Polite and efficient, they had the ground prepared in short order and cleaned the worksite daily. The end product was a durable work of art worthy of an "A" from this old do-it-yourselfer.

John and his crew were absolutely wonderful to work with! We are in a new build and needed everything done. This year we were only planning on putting in a yard but we were so impressed with the way they operate that we did a patio, flower beds, trees, and a lawn and couldn't be happier. John really took the time to answer all our questions and made us feel comfortable with our choices. The guys are so professional that I never felt a need to check up on them throughout the day. They would be there promptly when they said the would and did amazing work. What a great team!

He helped us with the design for both our front landscaping and landscaping in our back yard. He is very knowledgeable about every aspect of his work. You know he loves what he does. He and his crew are honest, friendly, and hard working. The finished product is beautiful!
