Guerrero's Landscaping

Was originally scheduled to begin about the first week of September, but due to weather and another job was moved back and began 9/18. Materials delivered prior to start. Oscar's truck's transmission blew as he got to the top of our steep 500' concrete driveway with a load of materials and immediately turned around and went back down leaving transmission fluid on the driveway. My husband had to put some absorbent material to soak it up. Oscar's laborer took some paper towels to try to clean it up a bit but there was too much on the driveway. (After a month and a half it's almost gone.) Oscar was very prompt and professional. He made several suggestions to make improvements to the original layout which worked out very well. Job completed on 9/22. He returned to seal the pavers on 10/2. I called him regarding the dead sod and was advised that he would be over to remove and put down seed and straw in a week or so. It's going on 4 wks. I'm sure he'll be by soon. A job well done.

He is excellent. He replaced the patio for us. He was there the whole time. He oversaw that it was done correctly. He did a few things that were above and beyond what we asked for. He was just wonderful. I highly recommend him for any type of hardscape. He was very prompt. He always called back. He cares for this customer. He pays very good attention to detail, and makes sure the customer is satisfied. I was totally satisfied. I feel very comfortable with the construction of the patio. He is very dependable, and he stands by his work.

Oscar showed up with another worker around noon, and finished work by 4:30. (Not the "very long day" he told me the job would require) He he did not set the pavers using the vibrating compactor as promised, and instead set them manually using a mallet. And when I got home at 5PM, expecting to see him to inspect the job and pay him, he had already left, and expected my wife to pay him, which she did. On the positive side, the job looks good today, and Oscar has given me a verbal guarantee of the job for two years. In spite of this, I feel I did not get what I paid for, and am left with a lot of doubts that this has provided a long term fix for the issue.

Oscar is a super nice guy and the 2 gentlemen working with him are extremely friendly as well. He was very prompt to come to the house and give us an immediate quote. He had fantastic ideas for the wall that I would have not thought of. He started the job 3 days after we hired him and was complete in 3 days. It looks beautiful...better than expected. He also does much more than hardscape, so we will be hiring him in the future to do some other outside work for us.

Oscar & Kathy Guerrero run a small family business out of their house. He was able to come out and look at the job and provide me an estimate within a day of when I first called. They planned to start the job the following Monday, but explained that they cannot do this kind of work in the rain(especially with the polymeric sand). Kathy called me on Sunday to say the forecast looked good for Monday-Wednesday and that Oscar would be here Monday morning around 10AM to start the job. On Monday morning it was raining! Kathy called and said they would start on Tuesday morning because of the rain. They showed up as promised on Tuesday. We wanted to re-work part of the sidewalk and he had some good ideas about how to make it look a lot nicer. We took his advice on the design. He took up and re-laid the bricks on the sidewalk and repaired the steps. We had some additional pavers that went around the lamppost, and he took those all up and replaced it with a mulch bed. It took the better part of a day to power wash the plant and algae growth out of the cracks in the driveway, and then he replaced the sand with polymeric sand. I didn't know what polymeric sand was before talking to him, but you put it in the cracks and get it wet and it hardens like concrete. This prevents any additional growth between pavers. They also raked out and mulched existing beds in the front. Oscar clearly showed that he knows what he is doing with pavers. He brought two helpers with him and the job took the three of them 2 days to complete. They worked very fast, and I am very happy with the results. I had another estimate last Fall that was about 50% higher to repair the walk, so I think the price was good too. All in all I am pleased with the results and would recommend Guerrero Landscaping for your future jobs. I found them to be professional, responsive, and hard working.
