After comparing prices from multiple places (including a few of the big name replacements - Pella, Anderson renewals - and the chain places that advertise heavily - Window Nation, etc.) we went with House Doctors. It took 2 1/2 weeks for the windows to be ready; we scheduled the install a few days later. The installers were excellent - these guys were experienced and knew what they were doing. It took a full two and a half days for them to do everything - remove the old windows (some were double-hung, some were casements, some were plate glass only), put the new window in, finish the trim inside and out. They left our home & garage spotless - we didn't need to do any cleanup after they left. We really couldn't be happier; everything turned out better than we were expecting. The house is noticeably warmer and quieter now since these windows are much more energy efficient and soundproof over the windows that were there previously.
Description of Work: We needed to replace over 20 windows (double-hung, plate glass and casements) in this house - they were the original windows. Also needed a few screen doors installed (we provided the doors) along with an entry door that needed replaced.

The door had two dents when installed. It took several months before someone came and repaired the dents by applying bondo and sanding them. Repaired a brand new $1700 door instead of replacing. Within four months all the caulking they sealed the exterior of the frame with pulled away from the wood and cracked allowing water to get in. Months later someone from House Doctors came out and slapped some clear silicone over the cracked and peeling caulking. Looked horrible, like an ancient door in need of replacement. Called and complained and was told someone would be out within a week to remove the caulking and replace it with new matching caulking. No one ever came. More calls, more promises, nothing done. Then the glass turned foggy and grey. A chunk of wood that had caulking over it broke away from the frame. Looks like the door frame was patched and repaired before it ever was installed in our home. Service tech agreed that it appeared it had been patched before it was ever installed in our home. Service tech said the seal was damaged on the glass and the gas leaked out. Said we need new glass, said they would take the glass out, put in new glass, take the frame apart and put new wood in one side of frame. Also all the weather stripping had broke away, leaving the door unsealed from the elements. They would replace that. That was over seven months ago. Never heard from them again. I've lost track of how many calls I've had to make to this company. I've since learned from other residents that everything is fine as long as you do not have problems. If you do you are out of luck. Very disappointed they do not stand behind their work and the products they sell. This door was damaged and repaired before being installed in our home, not including the two dents it came with.

It went very well, the workmen did a fabulous job and they worked continuously while they were there and I loved how they made them look like brand new cabinets. The glass inserts in 4 of the doors are unbelievable. I am so happy that I called them and would highly recommend them.

Over the past two years I have interviewed 6 replacement window companies and chose to go with House Doctors again. They were the second lowest price, but their sales rep (it's a family business) was professional, friendly, but not pushy. Also left his cell number in case I had more questions — which I did after interviewing the lowest priced company, which I just did not feel comfortable with. The 2013 install — 8 windows, including two large sliders, and all larger, custom-sized — was done in less than a day, and they cleaned up the major mess. My only complaint was they didn't use Visqueen drapes to prevent the fine dust from covering the room. They test for lead, and though there was none in my house, I would have preferred the draping just to minimize my cleaning afterward. I have mentioned that to them for this year's install, so I won't have to deal with that going forward. The windows themselves are locally made, which is important to me, and so much easier to open/close/clean than my old heavy leaded glass rope pulls that were original to my historic home. They also have kept my house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer. No complaints about the product. The office personnel is very friendly and helpful — never rude. I should advise, however, that because they are so efficient, don't call them until you're ready to have the work done. I made the mistake last year of calling them about a month and a half before I wanted them installed, but they offered a discount if I did it sooner, so the turnaround was about three weeks. This year, I waited until a couple weeks before I was ready for the install. They were just as quick, but their install date fell when I was out of town, so they had to reschedule it, so the work is not yet done. Unless something drastic happens to the company, or with this install, I expect to hire them again next year for my final 6 or 8 replacements.

Description of Work: House Doctors did not even want to talk to me. I told them we were planning to install two new entry and screen/storm doors and were planning on $1200 - $1500 total cost. They couldn't hang the phone up fast enough. We are now talking to Lowe's about the total installation cost, in our price range. I'll let you know how they do when the job is completed.

They called me and I had them come and give me a price on the front door and had them install one. They are with Angie's. I have seen their advertisement for years so I checked to see what kind of response they had on Angie's list and they had a good review. They called me when I was doing the paint job and I was actually shopping for the door I told them to come out and they gave me an estimate. For the quality of the door that they used the price was reasonable and the door is much tighter and better. I had no issues with them. They did a fine job. They had to install it within a couple of hours. The workers were very good. The salesman told me that the door I selected will take about two weeks and he will contact me and schedule me for installing and that's what they did. It all went well. The price was in the range of others. Doors like shoes and there are lots of them and it depends on how fancy and elaborate I want to go with pricing. They were right in the range. I could have gone to the other place and brought a cheaper door and install it myself and save probably half of that but the quality of the door would not match it. I got what I paid for. They were very professional. They didn't try to push a sale of a higher price on me. He listened to what I was looking for and that's exactly where he went.

The overall experience was pretty good. They were punctual, did what they said they were going to do and corrected the problem. They stood by their word and made the payment after as the payment was due before the job was complete.
Description of Work: We had our windows done from House Doctors Window & Door Co about a month and half ago.
