The painter was very friendly but when he got to our home he forgot some of his paint supplies--had to go out a buy them. The job seemed to take much longer than we were originally told (over 8 hours). When he left we discovered paint on the woodwork in quite a few places and on the carpet in at least three places. Several areas on the walls were never painted and he never painted the upstairs hallway (part of the open foyer). Offered to come back if we weren't satisfied. Decided to finish it ourselves.

Response from 3 Men And A Brush Painting Co.
I was understood that it was just the foyer. And not a multiple room paint. I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. As for the time, it was a two story foyer that was declared impossible for a 20year veteran painter. It took me a longer time to cut the walls in than normal due to the area. As for the paint spots, the Wife if the home did a detailed walk through of the area painted. We did notice a couple paint on the wood trim, which was immediately taken care of. She was so impressed with my work that she gave me a handsome tip. While painting, as meticulous as I am there will ALSWAYS be something as tiny or as frivolous as it may be that is not seen until a few days to a few weeks later that remains unseen.

.3 men and a Brush and its owners and representatives Amanda and Eric Mansfield 1st subcontracted out the powerwashing of the home to someone or another company they found on Craigslist without meeting them in advance or having previous supervised work or experience with the sub contractor to 3 men and a brush. They also did not notify us or our representative that they would be doing any subcontracting work for agreement by the homeowner or representative. The power washing sub used the power washing equipment to literally write into the wood of a house that is in the historic district of the city. They also wrote on the sidewalk and stone work on the house. Then failed to prep the home properly and painting directly over the damage without repairing any of the damage to to wood or stone work. They failed to also trim the home properly and painted over the gutters in some place and other left unpainted . The gutters were not suppose to be painted. We have tried to work through the detail of the issues since may without legal action but I was informed today that Mr. Mansfield has no intent of returning to complete or work through the remaining issues without getting the court system involved. His crew left paint chips all over the property, fail to mask of the window causing over spray on the roof and window and the power washing damaged the shutters. Mr Mansfield's last communications. "i'm not afraid of a lawsuit" When we have made it clear that we are interested in only the repairs at this stage but there are other options that are not our preference. If you select them as a contractor buyer beware. Unfortunately this may have to go to court because 3 men and a brush will delay meeting or showing up to repair damage that was clearly caused by their crew and unvetted subs contractors. This process started in May and we are still trying to get them to do the write thing. Will provide additional feedback once there is closure on this either with the companies participation or in a worse case situation through the courts. We also have pictures that represent the facts. REBUTTAL TO PROVIDER RESPONSE: The pictures were taken by me on September 20th at 1:27 PM. At 12:12pm Mr. Eric Mansfield said ?I?m not afraid of a law suit?. After my text communication on September 20th at 12:24pm with 3 Men and a Brush?s representative Eric where he said ?the damages from the power washing was repaired.? And he changed his mind about meeting because he feels his contract was not valid even though he did work on the house and had been paid a deposit and progress payments his statement ?you can?t file a law suit anyway? His last statement was ?Good Day? at 12:31pm on the 20th of September. I filed later the afternoon of the 20th. This was after 3 Men and a Brush said they completed the job multiple times and my final attempt to get them to do a walk around to see the remaining issues and damage that his sub caused that he agreed they caused in his response to my attempt to resolve this through Angie?s list. I contacted Angie?s list to mediate shortly after since I made many attempts to work with 3 Men and a Brush Co. directly without going into a legal forum which is our last option as I pointed out to them on June 15th where I also indicated that the project was dragging out the and again on September 20th in writing as he referenced in his response. This was not a threat it?s a viable option to get resolution working together if they won?t meet. He admitted in his response that his sub that he is responsible for damaged the property which makes him, his insurer, the owner and his company liable for the damage and repairs for anything his sub that he found on Craig?s list without knowing their work damaged. It appears that he has not been back to the property since he clearly is not seeing what my cell phone camera is pointing out as of September 20th of this year. The date and time on this camera is driven from Verizon network and not me. The house was not prepared properly for paint from the beginning, overspray on the roof as of the 20th, the stone was damaged by the pressure washer, paint on the stone work and paint ran to point out a few issues as of the 20th. The gutters are half spray painted as of September 20th. Which we did not want sprayed and now are half done. As far as the trim that he is referring to. There are areas that a carpenter needed to repair not as a result of termites which we are not referencing in our complaint but we feel is was reasonable for him to patch in some areas as part of the prep work contracted. We now have a series of court dates as our last option starting October the 29th at 10:30am appearing before Anthony Sertick case number 13cvI02551Y which I filled in person. The courts phone number is 330-742-8866 if confirmation is needed. We will post the findings of the court if we can?t resolve this through 3 Men and a Brush Co or their insurance company prior to the court date. We are open to working through the remaining issues with them if possible as I have pointed out many times. But it seems that one of us has an unrealistic view of what a reasonable and professional job looks like. I was actually given a lessor quote to get the job done but went with the higher price to make sure the job was quality.
Description of Work: 3 men and a Brush was contracted to power wash old paint off of the home Prep and prime the exterior of the home before painting. They forecasted to have all work completed within 5 days.

Response from 3 Men And A Brush Painting Co.
The only true thing that was said in the complaint was that I did sub the job out. I was swamped and needed help. Unfortunately they did indeed make damages to the house with the pressure washer. I don't refute that. However, I DID come out and at NO EXTRA cost, fixed and repainted the house. He had termite damage and was swamped with hornets nest inside the wood on every side of the house. The pictures that were posted by the customer are pictures of the house before I did any repairs. NOT AFTER pictures. I also warned him that due to the age of the home and what he wanted to pay, the old paint will continue to peel after the new paint is put on, I could not guarantee the old paint would start peeling again. I told him that with the price I originally quoted him would have given me the opportunity to properly remove the paint. At the risk of loosing a job, I suggested that he put vinyl siding on the home instead. He insisted that he wanted it painted. Despite all that I warned him about. I don't think he has seen the home since I finished. I also have EVERY SINGLE text message that was ever sent between the customer and myself. Claims that the customer made in the his complaint are contradicted by the text messages I have. The complaint about the trim, the customer text me and told me do not paint the trim that was natural damaged from time. He was having a carpenter come out. I guess he never got the wood replaced and wants to blame me. He wanted me to come back out to do work that was not in the contract and tried to threaten me in order to get it done for free. This is simply one of those people that try to get something for nothing. It's unfortunate, but sadly it does happen. I do not have the option to post the pictures I have of the finished home on my response. I will try to get them posted on angie's list some where. There is zero grounds for any complaints.

3 Men and a Brush came to my home within an hour after I called. They were punctual and very professional. They gave me professional results at a VERY expectable price. They came and gave an estimate, then the next day they had a crew start on my home. We were able to stay in the house and even move around freely. They worked around us. That I did not expect. I expected to have to leave and go somewhere for a few days. When I got the estimate I was skeptical how painting could cost a lot of money, but watching them work, and seeing the final product it was most definitely worth every penny. I've living in this house for 25 years, and they made my house look better than what it ever had. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about 3 men and a brush. I would recommend hiring 3 men and a brush.
