Hired in March, running a month out for work to be completed partially due to contractors trip to Mexico, then a death in the family pushed job another week, understandable. Was to start in 4 days, chosen out of several bids, great references, and previous work done 12 years earlier on another home. Emailed yesterday and due to my desire to have a signed contract prior to the start of work, stemming from having a very bad contractor experience in 2016, the owner reported to be "uncomfortable" with me and cancelled my job. Don't take this company's word that they will do your work. Now back to square one in peak season where all the other contractors I was considering are scheduled. Not OK. Price below was quoted for work to be done.

Description of Work: They put in a patio with stamped concrete. They sprayed the sealant all over the back of my house, which they have been unable to remove. They even got the sloppy spray on my windows. They also cut lines in the stamping without thought to the pattern. Their answer to my disgust was that they couldn't do anything about it. Not appropriate at all!

First off I want to mention that I have spent my whole career in trades and engineering and my job is to select and hire contractors to perform work in a large manufacturing plant. Mike Patterson is the owner of Creative Concrete and he absolutely looks the part of the quintessential "concrete guy". Working with Mike was great, I called him and he set us up to go see a few customers that had patios installed by him many years ago, they looked fantastic! He then came out to my house and we discussed the install and he gave me some pointers. I then made up a CAD drawing of what I wanted and gave it to Mike, he was pretty happy to get an exact representation of what I wanted. I can't say enough good things about Mike, he is on the job working and directing his crew and works hard to make it right. Our job was a difficult excavation but Mike spent the necessary time to get the proper amount of base material in place before pouring, other contractors would have skimped because the earth was so solid but not Mike, he use that Bobcat like a hammer trying to get the hard clay removed. He and his crew worked great and the end result is fantastic, here I am 5 years later writing a review because I'm still so pleased, no issues at all with this patio, period. If you want a patio and are are wondering if stamped concrete is the way to go, talk to Mike, he will explain to you what you need to know to make an informed decision, like adding fiberglass to reinforce etc. I am no amateur and rarely use contractors at home but when I come across a job that requires a special skill and tools I am critical of who I choose. I would not hesitate to recommend Mike, he did a great job for us. We are moving away and I thought Mike deserved a good review before I left because I look out at that patio now and know that it helped sell my house.
